5. Written, +3 TPE, Let me do it 178WC Anyone who was in drafting pool, but was not selected for All-Star game will take part in skill competition instead (and don’t really know what how that will end up looking like). But all of those players got close but ultimately were passed on by GMs making the picks. But what they got wrong? Who from skill competition should have been in All-star game and who would you replace to make room for them? I feel like the committee got a few wrong on a lot of deserving players. I understand that there is only a limited number of spots but out of the list of draftees that got left behind 2 or 3 of them really caught my eye, not only on the list but during the season. 1st one is Jack St Clair from Toronto unbelievable that he was left out, time and time again i watched him come up clutch from the games i watched due in part of the Primetime PT's. 2nd player is Theodore Svatos from Edmonton (No i didn't pick him because he is my Future GM) Edmonton may have had an off year but Theo was a huge difference maker on a reeling team, he was certainly overlooked because of that. Lastly Justin Time from the SF Pride! How is this dude not in? minding the net for a SHL champion isn't enough to make the All star game? just seems completely disrespectful in my eyes even if he had lesser statistics than Grez or Devoir. 2. Written, up to 4 TPE - Shiny Grab Bag: Pick up to 4 topics related to the All Star Game to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words. a. Which of the three Montreal players would have been best addition to either of the teams? b. Nash Topalo and Seamus O'Slapahan were only defencemen picked in top 10. Were they two best options this season? Should there have been more picked early on? c. Which of the teams could have better top line (center and two wingers), WhiteFuzz with Johnny Wagner-Svenson - Viktor Hargreeves - Antoine Beauregard or JRuke with Erik Bergmark - Derek Martin - Aksel Fiske? Why you think they are better? d. Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz and Sir Devoir were picked with back to back picks and thus both teams secured their started. Does either side have advantage on net? Back up goalies were picked lot later, do you think they can play role in the game at all? e. Why should YOUR player have made the all star game, and why should you be the last man in? (If your player did make the all star game, tell us why they were picked.) 2A. +1TPE. For me It's between Jussi Mutou and Damien Hirano, you can make an argument for both and no disrespect to Valerija Serapin but i just don't see All star. However I personally give the nod to Hirano and its pretty close. Mutou had a team high 91 Giveaways that's no bueno and Damien had ONE more GWG. That's all i got! (61WC) 2B. +1TPE. They absolutely tore it up this season! but Willow Soderberg-Snooks 100% should've been the 1st dman selected hands down, led the league in Points and Assists (and 2nd in shots) by a defensemen and was a huge part of San Francisco's run to the Challenge Cup. WS-S was statistically better in ALMOST every category than Nash and Seamus (59WC) 2E. +1TPE. My Player? LOL he wasn't deserving of an all star bid and probably never will, not because of effort or activity. just simply because of his role. No offensive prowess but 248 blocked shots over 66 games is nothing to bat an eye at. That and the fact he not in the SHL YET. If an all star bid can be obtained by someone with just great defensive play he'll be a 10x all star.(75WC) 8/8 TPE LD #6 Dash Jackson-Edmonton Blizzard/Yukon Malamutes

S76 Milestones 1 TPE Code: 2. Written, up to 4 TPE - Shiny Grab Bag: Pick up to 4 topics related to the All Star Game to write about! Each topic is worth 1 TPE. Each answer must be 50+ words. I’m going to take a moment and toot my own horn here. Jussi Mutou would absolutely be a gem to have in the all-star game. A physical threat who can contribute offensively as well, Jussi is a menace both on and off the ice. With 25 goals and 34 assists, the rookie showed he is dangerous with the puck on his stick. Add on a team leading 109 hits and the opposing team is never safe when he’s on the ice. 1 TPE Code: 3. Written, 3 TPE, The Teammate One (150 words min.) Full disclosure, I’m pretty shocked that Damien Hirano didn’t get selected to the all-star rosters this season. It’s pretty silly that the Montreal Patriotes are the only team without a player selected to the game (although things can change with last man in). I would say Hirano is a prime candidate for Last Man In. Yes, he had a poor +/-. But 59 points while playing on one of the worst teams in the league is nothing to shake your head at. Damien Hirano is the epitome of what a hockey player should be. He’s been on the Patriotes for the entirety of their rebuild and has never wavered in his loyalty. If that doesn’t count for something, I don’t know what does. All-Star pickers are going to be in for a rude awakening once Montreal takes over. They will rue the day they ever snubbed Damien Hirano. Hirano for Last Man In. Hirano for President. Hirano for King of the entire SHL! 3 TPE Code: 5. Written, 3 TPE, Let me do it (150 words min.) Call me a hater, but I don’t think William Salming should have been picked. If we’re being honest, I don’t see a world where he gets picked over someone like Graj Virrok. Virrok finished the season with nearly as many assists as Salming had points, as well as nearly 50 goals on the season. Don’t get me wrong, Salming is a good player. I just wouldn’t have picked him. I would argue there are a handful of players who could have been picked over Salming. With great seasons from Sad Ketchup, Sebastien Regazzoni, Jack St. Clair, Benjamin Surkhi-Ze’Ev, and Sunrise van de Schubbekutteveen, just to name a few, there were plenty of players I would say got snubbed. But at the end of the day, I’m not the one who picked the teams. If the GMs picked Salming, I’m sure they had a good reason to do so. It’s really not that serious I suppose. 3 TPE Code: Total TPE: 8/8

2 tpe: https://simulationhockey.com/showthread....pid3517711 4. Written, 3 TPE, It is the draft season (150 words min.) When organizing the SHL all-star hockey game, the process of selecting players is crucial to ensuring a competitive, entertaining event and fairly representative event. For this point task I was thinking about outlining a couple pros and cons about this new all star draft format. Some pros of this new all star draft format include: 1. Recognition of emerging talent: Committees can spot and include emerging talents who might not yet be widely recognized but have shown significant potential. 2. Inclusion of last season's Challenge Cup finalists as the drafters ensures merit based captain selections: Players from the previous season's cup finalists are often among the best in the league, having demonstrated their skills and resilience through a long playoff run earning a spot to be captains. Some cons of this new all star draft format include: 1. Bias Pick Risks: There is always a risk of bias or favoritism in committee selections of players picking their buddies, which could lead to disputes among fans. 2. Overrepresentation: Focusing too much on cup finalists cpatians picking their teams could lead to overrepresentation of a few teams, potentially alienating fans from other teams whose players don’t get picked for the all star game. 11. Written, 3 TPE, Almost a member (150 words min) Konstantin Selichis already cementing himself as an all time great and a future first ballot hall of famer for sure. On a great Buffalo team Selich has already had 7 seasons of 100+ points. He is truly one of the best FHM8 era players right now. With his career only 13 full seasons in, Selich still has a lot of hockey to play. It took Selich less then 750 games to reach over 1,000 points which is crazy, but also predictable as the inflation of points allowed him to reach that point quickly. In this inflation driven era, Selich is one of the best in the league to do it. Since the switch to FHM, Selich leads all forwards in points and goals. Selich is already in the top 20 in all time scoring and will only climb higher with each season he plays. The heights we will only see when he retires. Selich will be among the all time greats. Just how high he gets it up to him, and how long he can maintain his level of performance.

Of the three Montreal players to have been the best addition to either all-star team, I would have chosen Jussi Mutou as my addition. ThisSeemsFishy seems like a cool person from what I have seen so they have got my pick! They had 59 points in 66 games and was tied for 1st in points for Montreal. (57 words) b. We all know how much defense matters in FHM 8 and with how the current meta works (offense for the win), as a defensemen myself you can have high stats in checking, d-read, positioning but still get dumpstered on by the opposing players. Hodor should have been picked earlier on since he is a shot blocking machine. (57 words) c. My choice would have to go with JRuke with their top line of Erik Bergmark, Derek Martin and Aksel Fiske. I know all of these users behind the players and vibe with them more compared to the other choices so that is why they would get my vote. Also Derek Martin was my 1st round fantasy choice last season and helped secure me 2nd place in fantasy! (67 words) d. If my earlier text about defensemen not really mattering much, oh boy does it get even worse for goaltenders. We have seen numerous times how high top notch goalies can get piled on for goals in our sim engine so it is not surprising to see goalies picked back to back. During all-star games it is all about the goals and unfortunately goalies will be getting embarrassed. (67 words) PBE Affiliate +3 Total: 8/8 TPE
