From the desk of Troy McClure IIII:

My time in Regina was special and it is impossible to summerize. I enjoyed myself there. It will always have a place in my heart.  With that being said,  my last season in Regina was the personal best I've ever played. I checked all the boxes.  I lead in goals,  assist,  and points after 66 games.  I was 3rd in shots, 5th in shooting % [4th of you don't count the guy with one shot and one goal with 100%], tied for 2nd in Powerplay goals,  tied for 3rd in shorthanded goals,  9th in takeaways for all players. I did the thing. I'm proud of my accomplishments as a player.  However,  the lack of the 4 star cup run this season is a glaring hole in my heart. I wanted that cup.  Regina deserves that cup.  I'd trade all my personal achievements for that cup run.  I'll forever wonder what we could have done if we made a move for another player , or changed a strategy or something.

Alas, I'll sleep at night well knowing I did my best,  as will all my teammates. I tip my hat to the new champs QCC. Proud of my lobster classmates.

We have an amazing award set up now, and improvement might be a stretch for what i think, but since you asked: I want 2 awards. The best worse player and the worse best player. The Best Worst player would be the worst player on the best team. In example, the back up goalie who never wins a game, or the forward with no goals after 66 games. They have no notable contributions, but since the team did well, they get credit for it. Call it the Troy McClure A is for effort award. The second award would be inverse: they player did amazing but the team did not. That could be called the WhyMe,Gee? Award. You lead the team in goals, points, assists, you have all your teams game winning goals, you are the sole reason your team even won this season. It is the award for the player who is stuck on a team of IAs.

d. Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz and Sir Devoir were picked with back to back picks and thus both teams secured their started. Does either side have advantage on net? Back up goalies were picked lot later, do you think they can play role in the game at all?

I think both goalies are very good, and should provide stability in net. I would say it is even. in terms of backup goalies, I am unsure they have much of an impact on the game as the starters do. It is tough to be a back-up goalie in the all-star so they are underappreciated but they're sitting on the bench hoping they go into a good game and not a blow out.(70 words)

e. Why should YOUR player have made the all star game, and why should you be the last man in? (If your player did make the all star game, tell us why they were picked.)
Sad Ketchup did not make the all-star game, but did make it to the All-Star competition. I believe he should've been named last in, especially being the only point per game rookie and played well on a relatively bad team, although he helped his team make the playoffs which was good. Ultimately Sad Ketchup will likely be in future games, but will look to impress during the skills competition this season. (71 Words)

The league has multiple awards, yet there is always room for improvement. What award would you add? Why that award and who it would be named after? Or which of the current awards would you change? How would you change it and why?

I think I would add an award for a defensive rookie of the year, I believe the league awards are skewed towards points which makes it tougher for a defensive player to win rookie of the year. I think it would be beneficial to the rookies especially the defenseman who play a solid rookie season in a tough league to feel like there is hope for their defensive work to be recognized. The Simulation Hockey League is an offensive league and keeping pucks out of the net is tough and the game is so fast that rookies who do well defensively deserve more credit. I would name it after myself because I came up with it Wink.
Another award I could see would be for "off the ice" efforts meaning Prescence in the media. This type of award for media Prescence or PR award could create more talk on the league forums and create more PR for the league. Would name it the media award or something.

9. (+3) Well my Junior year is done and it was by sheer objectivity an improvement. The team’s goal differential was significantly better, and while it didn’t mark a significant increase in my own personal offensive output, it did net me a couple extra goals and a huge improvement in my +/-. I feel a bit capped here, as if I’ve hit my ceiling for the time being which is strange. Improvement came some often and so quickly for so long and now it’s just stagnation. I’m still getting great opportunity, with a bunch of time on the powerplay and a boatload of even strength time, but there isn’t any significant increase in my production. We made a deep playoff run which was a refreshing change, but it hurt to not get it done this season. It’s strange to be the old guard around here now as everyone I grew up playing with has moved on at this point. I’ll have to really step it up here to prove my value.

10: The award I would add would be named the Zach Hyman award. I understand that this is not an SHL player but this has to be done. This award will be given to the player with the most tap in goals during a season. However, the award comes with a caveat. In order to win the award, your player must come from a rich family. After all, it is the Zach Hyman award. Tap in goals are the easiest goals in hockey, but we should award the players who find the easy ones and put them away. We should celebrate their incredible tap ability and give them a trophy. The trophy would feature a stick sitting on the backside post of the goal with the Zach Hyman award written on the front. Every team wants to have a star player that skates around the whole defense and finds the back of the net. However, every team needs a Zach Hyman. The Zach Hyman award everybody!

7. I am going to be honest, I have no clue about the players in the SHL as I am a SMJHL player and have never ever played in that league. However, I am sure those players that were voted in deserved to be there. After all, the people voted and the most votes won. I am sure there are other deserving players, but there are limited spots on an All-Star roster. Not everyone can make it, but that is the fun and competition of it all. I do not remember who I voted for or if I even did vote so maybe or maybe they did not make it in. I look forward to making an All-Star team and learning more about the SHL soon.

1. Milestones (2)

4. (3)
This season, I got not one (obligatory because of team quotas), not two, but three teammates in the All-Star Game! How exciting. My captain Derek Martin was picked second overall, which is not surprising considering his amazing season. With 113 points, good for 3rd place in the SHL, an outstanding shooting percentage of over 20% as well as an underrapreciated physical game with 90 hits, he was sure to be picked really high in the draft and his general managers did not want to risk losing him. The next who was picked was Adam Prpich at 4th overall. I kiss his ass plenty in another answer so I'm not going to recycle every point I've made. Let's just say, it's a great pick an I approve. Last but not least, my goaltender was also sniped by the opposing team about midway through the draft. He was the first goalie picked and he indeed had another great year. I have reached the word limit so I refuse to elaborate further.

11. (3)
I think, without any bias, doesn't matter that he's my teammate, that Adam Prpich is an obvious candidate for the hall of fame. The committee works in mysterious ways though so I don't know if he's a first ballot inductee but I honestly don't see why he wouldn't be. He's consistently been one of the league's best players, winning the Ron Mexico twice, the Sarmad Khan, the Jay McDonald, Sergei Karpotsov and a Challenge Cup. His stats have been nothing short of absurd, with 3 consecutive 100+ points seasons. If just his points totals aren't enough, he's also a beast at faceoffs as well as one of the most accurate shooters in the league. Prpich is still in his prime so I can only see his statistics improving from here. Players have gotten in the hall of fame with much less silverware so knowing he might win even more awards makes his case for hall of fame a no brainer in my opinion.
