The Vancouver Whalers' oldest rival is the Kelowna Knights. The Knights have been not doing too well in the past couple of seasons, but the Vancouver Whalers can't say that they have been doing much better, but this season you can find the Kelowna Knights beating the Vancouver Whalers quite consistently despite the Knights being lower in the standings than the Whalers. This definitely fires the team up as this rivalry has literally been here since the start of the SMJHL with the two cities being so close in proximity, they are looking for the bragging rights as the best in BC. In addition to the current series record between the teams, and the rivalry is also for who has the most cups. This is a close race between the two with the Vancouver Whalers leading the last time I checked, but don't quote me as I am not a historian. Regardless, the Vancouver Whalers win in my heart and that's all that matters.

Newfoundland's rivals are probably Maine, because Newfoundland swept the Timber in the S70 Four-Star Cup and then in S71, it was Maine sweeping NL, and in Season 73, Maine over Newfoundland. I bet it can continue. IRad (my old player) was in Maine when they won the Four-Star Cup against the Berserkers, but now, my new player (Hannah Crowder) is on the losing side of the S73 Four-Star Cup. However, Newfoundland is a mid-level team and their playoff chances are slim. Maine is however, an extremely better team because they were just in the final in S76, falling short to Quebec City. Maine was better than Newfoundland last season in all, but now, Newfoundland looks to be better than them with their new waiver claim: Hannah Crowder. Hannah also has beef with Maine after she saw that Newfoundland lost to Maine in the Four-Star Cup in S71 and S73. Hannah looks to bring a Four-Star Cup to Newfoundland, beating Maine in the final.

I nearly said Anchorage, because I got a lot of Anti-Boat Emojis, but memes aside, the biggest rival of the Kelowna Knights probably are the Vancouver Whalers, judging by location alone. We also share green in our colour scheme while green/gold is far superior to green/blue.
As far as I remember Vancouver had not much going for them the last seasons, dating back to my Nevada time at least in S65. That said Kelowna really didn't do much better, but we now have poached a new GM and got an active LR with decent earners. We might be able to make a splash in the playoffs before becoming legitimate contenders in 2/3 seasons probably.
Can't say how much of that also rings true for Vancouver as I do not know much of their current status apart from knowing Seany from my stint as HO intern. I wish them luck though...I mean booo, stinky rival!

The Newfoundland Berserkers' biggest rival is the Maine Timber, and it all goes back to the shot-blocking performances of one Will Windsor, which have left the Windsor name forever cursed in Newfoundland. After that fateful playoff push which saw the Berserkers label Windsor with a frequent expletive, the Timber and the Berserkers have faced each-other in countless playoff series, with the Timber more recently having a stronger run of it.

Yet, it would be difficult to say anything has been as frustrating to the Newfoundland staff as seeing a superior team struggle to get past a team that was, at that time, little more than a pretender -- all owing to a record-breaking shot-blocking performance, early into this new-rules era with its more inflated stat-lines. In the end, the Berserkers got the last laugh in that first chapter, managing to injure Will Windsor so badly with the puck that his career never amounted to anything outside of the SMJHL.

But, for the Berserkers and the Timber, their bad blood is liable to run for seasons to come -- and the more they match up with each-other in bitter series, the worse it will get.

Historically, Quebec City's biggest rivals were Nevada, who entered the league at the same time as the Citadelles, Anchorage, due to the many playoff battles between the two teams in the franchise's early years, and to a lesser degree Newfoundland, Maine, and Colorado for the same reason as Anchorage. More recently though, in the last 10 seasons or so, the battle of the birds has been the bigger story in the province's capital, Quebec City versus Detroit. In season 69 they were in the same division, and in the playoffs both teams made it all the way to the finals before Quebec City won it all in a 4-1 series. The next season they shared a conference and met in the first round, where this time Detroit beat the Citadelles 4-2. History would repeat itself in season 73 but this time it was 4-1 Detroit. In season 74 both teams led their respective conferences, and the Falcons eliminated Quebec City 4-2 in the semi finals, later going on to win the cup. Now with expansion the two teams are in opposite divisions, so they won't meet again in the playoffs unless it's in the finals, so time will tell if this rivalry fizzles out or becomes more heated than ever.

My personal rival is the Anchorage Armada. As a first year Newfoundland Berserker, I haven't gotten into a whole lot of team history but I have the most beef with the Anchorage Armada. Although they are doing better than us this year in the league, my main problem with them as my rival is that they changed from the Prince George Firebirds to the Anchorage Armada. A move designed to rip the hearts out of former Prince George Firebirds and I take it extremely personally. The team had great managers, great players and even better branding. The beautiful red Firebird branding should come back to the league. As a player on the Berserkers, I work extra hard versus Anchorage as I want them to lose so they finally decide to head south back to Prince George. I will never stop the movement to bring back the Firebirds and I know there are many alumni who feel the same as me.

At the moment, the Anchorage Armada's biggest rivals are the Newfoundland Berserkers. This is for a few reasons. The first is natural - as the conference basement dwellers, naturally the team directly above us in the standings is the most obvious target for our ire. We don't want to be in second to last, but we'd sure rather be there than in last - it's only logical.

The next reason is due to the natural rivalry between the Armada, a team of honest, workmanlike sailors, and the Berserkers, who are clearly unsavory vikingrs, out to make a fortune raiding our harbors and pillaging the land. They give a bad name to seafaring folks all over.

Lastly and more practically is the fact that they are on the complete opposite end of the continent, yet still share a conference. Do you know how long it takes to fly from Anchorage to St. John's? 16 hours, with two connections. On a good day.

I think the biggest rival to a Raptor would have to be a Kraken. I mean, they are both creatures from long ago (if they ever existed), so let’s pit them against each other. The hard part would be the battle ground. Considering Raptors are land animals and Kraken live in the ocean. Maybe we can construct some kind of half water, half land fighting pit where they can go at each other. Then they would be able to open up and go after each other fully. I would have to say I think the Raptor would be at a disadvantage, but once it gets inside those hulking tentacles of the Kraken, it could tear into its flesh with its sharp teeth. One good chomp and I think the battle is over. I can’t imagine a world where the Kraken would be able to match the speed and cunning of the Raptor. So I go Raptor all the way.
