3. There’s a lot of good auction items list year, and theres a couple I want to win. First is Kelowna Ice. For my last season in Kelowna, I would love to give us piss ice in order to show the rest of the J that we mean pissness. Second is the sig by Micro. I’ve been meaning to try and find a new sig for Jennifer, particularly a Calgary one to go with my Jove KEL one. Finally, the Winnipeg goal horn. I always like winning the goal horn ones so I can mess with people (Giving Edmonton Pink Venom and Short Kings Anthem was pretty good). I don’t know how I would mess with Ace and Winnipeg yet but I can cook something up. (125 words, +2)

13. I think overall pipelines aren’t as strong as they used to be, and I think there’s benefits to both spreading out the team you acquire your prospects from and drafting from the same team to bring friends to the same spot. Some pipleines back in the day used to be really egregious. NL to CHI, ANC to HAM/PHI, and CAR to LAP were all really strong pipelines and I know NL to CHI in particular became a pretty big meme for anyone who was on Newfoundland. But as GM’s in both the SHL and the J have shifted you can see from the data that there are only a couple strong pipelines that remain. CHI has kept a bit of the NL pipeline but also added NBB due largely to Schwarz and Isa’s influence. STL to MIN made a lot of sense due to Jay, and it will be curious to see if a lot of STL players go to TEX now. VAN to HAM with Aleks being former VAN GM and now current HAM cox, and then ANC to PHI. But overall I think its good to have a mix, of certain teams pulling from strong J connections, and other teams being more open and branching out across J teams for their prospects. 3. Which are your three favorite Charity Auction items? Why those?

I'll do a countdown from my 3rd favourite item up to my 1st to build suspense. I have to give an honourable mention to the charity cards which aren't technically an auction item, but they're my favourite addition to the charity drive and I have to give huge credit to the card team for making them happen. For real auction items though, my third favourite is Daily Nash Pictures for a Week by Rangerjase. Everyone knows Nash is a superstar in the league and selling daily pictures of everyone's favourite cute dog for charity sounds like a win-win for everyone. It's the most popular auction right now for a reason. My second favourite item has to be the You Belong Physical Print by sve7en. The you belong graphic is one of the best things that makes this league great. I love seeing the colourful messages of inclusivity in people's signatures and I can only imagine how cool the physical print of the design will look in-person. It's a wonderful charity item. Finally, my top favourite charity auction item is Custom Emoji by xjoverax. It's been an absolute pleasure to be able to watch my fellow S76 draftee Jove learn the ropes of SHL graphics and improve his skills over time. He's produced top quality work for every single team in both leagues now and a custom emoji by him will be an incredible addition to any LR.

4. Who are the best players you shouldn’t pick in fantasy? Why?

I'll list one player from each category of F/D/G for this question since there's a lot of different things to consider when picking for each role. For F, it seems like Ekaterina Valieva is the highest TPE player that probably shouldn't be picked. For two straight seasons now it seems like Valieva has had the opportunity to break through as a top fantasy player, but for both of these seasons she's somehow just failed to meet that mark. It's unfortunate that such a strong player just hasn't been able to put up the fantasy points. There's too much risk here. For D, I'll unfortunately have to list Ylib's brother, Nevek Kove. This is a unique situation. Nevek had the best fantasy season of his career last season, but then retired at near-peak TPE and won't be earning anything more this season. He's still the top D-man on MIN, but maybe the retirement will affect the minutes he gets this season. Finally for G, Rhett Carpet is the 2nd highest TPE goalie but probably shouldn't be picked. WPG has clearly committed to a big rebuild so it'll be tough for Carpet to stack up wins and shutouts this season with a potentially draft lottery worthy team in front of him.
