crazy how you don't see any SHLers whining over in the VHL lmfao. Can we just accept we're different leagues and enjoy ourselves instead of making this a thing it isn't all the time

Actually, I’ve tried to work with the SHL in a joint effort for recruitment and the SHL turned us down and didn’t want to work with us. I put the olive branch out there to allow these leagues to work together but it was the SHL who didn’t want that.

Nothing wrong with being different leagues and yes I’ve heard plenty of SHL whining over the years. My goal when I was on the recruitment team over there was to build a relationship with the two leagues and you guys were very much against it.

This isn't about supporting the SHL or any of the leagues listed over the VHL. It's a charity drive with a very specific purpose. Nobody is going to shame you if you don't donate, or if you'd rather give your money to the VHL or a charity of their choice. What they will shame you for, however, is using a charity thread to forward a one-sided, imagined feud. As the original post states, this wasn't even organized by the SHL itself, and the VHL is hardly the only league that isn't captured in this effort.

Maybe you can donate to one of the aforementioned charities directly if you'd rather not support the drive itself. Maybe you could convince the VHL to launch their own charity drive to inspire participation from those who feel left out. You could even just send a complaint to the commissioner or try to find a way for the VHL to be included in the future from the actual organizers of the dive.

Whatever you do, it's probably going to be better than hijacking a charity drive thread to peacock about how you're not going to participate.

Not sure what that has to do with you inserting yourself to the charity thread, but glad to see our leadership making good decisions.

i've been here for two years and that rivalry is essentially dead now. We also don't need to have a relationship, idk why y'all have it in your heads that this is essential for anything, we can keep thriving side by side.

Hey Ricer, I took over for PM with the cross-league charity organization and the like. We did reach out to the VHL, they declined citing they usually do their charity drive in December. Happy to answer any questions you have. I have no stake in a VHL-SHL rivalry. The VHL does amazing work with their charity drives the timing just didn't align but we are constantly looking to bring more leagues into the fold and continue to grow the charity drive. I think the trick is getting all the calendars to align, after this one wraps up I will be trying to reach out to more to improve the number of leagues involved.

I respect this answer, and I appreciate your professionalism. I apologize for my inappropriate behaviour, specifically it being in this thread. I do hope our two leagues can work together in the future because I do think supporting these causes is so important. Good job in helping out all of this together!
