S78 PT #0: Taste of a Champion Due: Sunday, August 11th @ 11:59 PM PST

Written Option 1
Leo doesn't have have ninety-nine overall cooking that's for sure. Ireland is much better known for its appetite for a pint than anything. Leo would argue that nothing beats a good barbeque when hanging out in the summer. Get a gorgeous piece of meat from the local butcher. Cut it up into large steaks and then leave them in some smoky marinade. For the added touch the smoker will be taken out of the garage and set up in the back yard. While waiting for the smoke to do its magic, open the first cold one for the evening. Maybe have another. Throw together or buy some huge salads from the store and you have an instant meal for a large group of people. When the meat is done in the smoker you can really start to see the attraction of barbequing as soon as the doors open. You actually can't see the attraction but you can smell it. The perfectly marinated meat served with your choice of ceasar salad or macaroni salad will win any competition.

pt pass

“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. ... There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.”

I think that the Seattle Argonauts would no doubt have a steak cook off in the offseason. The tales and pictures shared between players of the steaks and barbeques in our locker room have all looked amazing, I would no doubt love to do a steak cook off between all of the players and see who truly is the grill master. Whether it be a simple salt and pepper on berta grade beef, a two pound tomahawk that puts you into a food coma immediately after eating it, or a fancy butter basted T-bone in bone marrow broth, I can foresee all Argos players crushing the challenge. Squidwardo would definitely go with a nice flank steak marinated in montreal steak spice and applewood barbeque sauce, with a dash of soya sauce, worchestshire sauce, and applewood smoked hot sauce to bring in some more flavour. Let the barbeque heat up to 375, then on the grill for 5 minutes one side, 7 minutes on the other to get a nice sear and letting it get to a nice medium-rare, it would be top tier.

A brutal drop from the top as far as Grzegorz was concerned was just last season, which was supposed to be the beginning of his peak. The Panthers won the cup two short seasons ago, and Grzegorz was expected to get them favorable seeding last season as one of the top goalies in the league. Instead, Polie the Goalie was merely pedestrian, putting up a mediocre season when the team needed a great one. The team finished in the middle of the playoff pack and failed to get past Frisco again. Grzegorz was not exactly thrilled with the outcome. In a word, he's pissed. He's spent the summer training in Kraków dungeon gyms and drilling against every puck in the country. This is supposed to be the prime of his career; if he lets it become a decent into mediocrity he won't have long to recover. Last season must be a fluke. This season must be a return to form. If it's not, the Panthers can't achieve what they'd be capable of with a real goalie.

Written option 2:

Ivan Godinez has never really experienced the heartbreak of a championship loss yet. He is still super young & just completed his first season in the SMJHL. The closest thing he's had to a championship loss is in the playoffs this past season. The Kelowna Knights took the Regina Elk all the way to seven games in round 2 of the playoffs. That loss was devastating for the team but it didn't extremely damage Ivan. Yes it's a loss in the playoffs to a tough team but the Knights weren't even expected to be there in the first place. Ivan overcame the elimination during the off season very well. He took the time off like everyone else, went on vacation, had some amazing food & most importantly he reset his mindset for the upcoming season. The main thing that helped Ivan was going to therapy. It wasn't his first time going to therapy, he went when he was a boy because of some trauma that was caused by his neighbor. It was a freak accident where the neighbor almost shot Ivan in the eye with a bb-gun. Ivan felt like he didn't absolutely need therapy but he told himself it was time to go back. His first season as a full time professional was extremely stressful & it strained him over time. And the strain is exactly what Ivan doesn't want to be the reason he cuts his career short. He loves playing hockey & wants to go out on his own terms when it's time. The therapy will definitely help him have a super long career.

Option 2:

Well with the epic highs and lows that occurred for the Colorado Raptors in season 75 where they finally made it to the top and won the Four Star Cup, I’m going to say the season that immediately followed that with the Montreal Patriotes in the Simulation Hockey League.

Jussi went from a 46 goal, 94 point season with the Raptors ending in a championship win, to a 59 point rookie season that saw him finish a -76. The Patriotes would finish 2nd from the bottom of the league and be the butt of many jokes in the hockey world. It was definitely very humbling for Jussi to drop off that much. But it only served to motivate him further. Each day he looks around the locker room and considers himself lucky he has such fantastic teammates to help lift him up, just as he does them.

Soon, it will be Montreal’s time at the top. And the rest of the league better watch out!

Writing Option 2:

With Ryosuke Sato, the Toronto North Stars reached the conference finals in S58 or S59 if I am not mistaken and after that season, the team fell apart quite quickly with the departure of longtime GM ml and with Squally having to take the helm as our next GM Kluster immediately vanished after being hired. It was such a drastic swing in terms of momentum with players requesting to be traded soon after this debacle and Ryosuke Sato was also traded not too long afterwards as the team was entering another rebuild that was far too soon after their last. With that the team scattered, but what was held together was the memories that team made. This next rebuild ended quite quickly (albiet around 8 seasons of rebuilding) with GM Wally taking the helm and pushing some quick trades to rebuild the team to be competitive again the in mid S60s. Ultimately, the team needs to buy in and that's what needs to happen after a sharp downturn.

WRITTEN OPTION 2

My previous player Aumy Jr. who was a defender. He was drafted by Buffalo ''Stampede'' and spent five seasons there. He had an amazing statline for a defender and even got one championship. However, later on he got traded to Calgary ''Dragons''. He spent three seasons with them and then had his farewell tour with Winnipeg ''Aurora''. However, he never was close to the Finals again. ''Stampede'' meanwhile went and won a chip again. He never came back, to be fair. Teams had very weird cap rules and he couldn't get a contract later on, so a solid 2K TPE club member retired shortly after his peak. However, he wasn't upset. He always wanted to play as a forward, not defender. He retired and helped his son Aumy Junior II to make a way to the league. Of course, he didn't want to retire that fast, but the situation was difficult and he decided to focus on the future, not saving an expiring career.

Jennifer is a great cook due to the time she’s spent in both South Korea and the United States, and feels confident about winning this cookoff. She starts with Tteokbokki and Fried Chicken as the appetizer, with a mix of protein and carbs to start the meal off. Next are the greens, with which she decides to go with a Dubu Salad, which is made with tofu, as well as Kimchi Kongnamul Guk, which is a soup made with Soybeans as well as Kimchi. For the main dishes, she decides to go with Kimbap, which is similar to sushi but only has vegetables, Galbi, which are short ribs, bulgogi, which is marinated beef, and cheesy kimbap, which is a mixed rice dish with beef, egg, and vegetables. For dessert, she makes Dalgona Coffee and Bingsu. Overall, the plethora of Korean dishes does win her the competition, which she is happy about as not only does she like winning, but she likes sharing her culture with her teammates.
