Good morning SMJHL!
During the pause between the scheduled Game 3 and Game 4 sim in the SMJHL last night, we discovered that updates were missing for a number of players. After investigating, it was determined that the simmer (who also finished the previous week of sims) did not use the updated file to begin the playoffs on Monday.
The correct file was obtained, and in accordance with past precedent, Head Office ruled to re-sim the first three games of the playoffs with the correct file. In order to remain on schedule, games 1-4 will be simmed today at 12PM Eastern, with the standard 20 minute pause between games to allow for teams to submit changes. Games 5, 6, (and 7 if necessary) will be simmed tomorrow (Thursday) prior to the start of round 2, which will begin as scheduled.
I know you all are as tired of reading these announcements as I am of writing them, and I know that the level of trust in this particular aspect of our community is not in a great place right now. I want you all to know that we are discussing this at length in both head offices, and we will have more for you on potential solutions in the near future. We know that "just facepalm and hope it doesn't happen again" is not working, and we are in the process of formulating something more substantial to show you. Please bear with us, and know that we are just as frustrated as you are.

I post this with the total ignorance of not knowing how things go from data entry to file to the simmers themselves, but is it possible for the GM's and / or HO to have a chance to check their own file prior to the sim happening?
Again Idk how things are handed off between people, but it seems like having a set of eyes on that hand off and / or having the GM's know the file is correct in some way might be helpful.
If all else fails, I can stream my PSP NHL 07 to my TV, so I could prob just re-build the league on that if we need to!

The error happened because the simmer who finished simming on Friday didn't import that new file before simming (and since the games picked right back up where Friday left off, schedule-wise everything appeared fine and no one noticed because no one was looking at builds on the stream).
