2. 4 skaters from Los Angeles made it, should coaches try to keep them together or would you want to see things mixed up more?
4. Which of the goalies you would have starting for each team?
6. Your player decides to start a youtube channel, what kind of content they are creating?

2 - For strategy purposes, in my opinion, if those players work together with each other, there is no reason not to put them together in a line. However, for the All Star games, it is more showcasing an individuals ability and their own specialty. Unless their skill are unlocked by their teammates, it would be a little boring to see them play together like any other San Francisco game. In addition, the all star games are about entertainment rather than the textbook strategy that a competitive team might run. Although putting together might be entertaining by itself, it would be a breath of fresh air to see them mixed. (108 words) +2

4 - To begin, both teams have amazing goaltenders. In the east, there is Five Hole Sieve from the New England Wolf pack, who is definitely newer to the team, had an incredible season with a .91 save percentage and a 3.55 goals against average with 27 out of 49 games won. The other competitor is Tibuk Soonika from the cup finalists Tampa Bay Barracuda, had a good season with a .900 save percentage and a 3.2 goals against average winning 31 games out of the 43 he played. Both players had great seasons, but the starter for the East should be Five Hole Sieve with the better save percentage with a worse team. Now in the west, Justin Time, this seasons cup winner and going second in the regular season, has a 0.901 save percentage and a 2.89 goals against average and won 44 games out of 55. While the other goalie in the west who finished first in the regular season Grzegorz Brzeczyszczykiewicz, got a 0.91 save percentage and a 2.82 goals against average winning 36 games out of 49. This is a very hard choice with Time having the most wins in the league and Grzegorz having the best all round performance. But the winner in my opinion should be Grzegorz with the best stats all round.  (218 words) + 4TPE

6 - If my player, Kevin Kim decided to create a youtube channel, the content would instantly be about his hockey journey. As stated before in other posts, Kevin Kim was not even supposed to be drafted into the leagues. So with this goofy experience of his hockey history, he could share this story for his fans. It would be a shock at first, but like Minnesota is going to do anything. Right? Plus why would the SHL remove him? He is arguably the best forward in the Monarchs system at the moment. Anyways, other than sharing his story, he would try to spread hockey to other people. He would post videos teaching people important parts of hockey. (100 words) +2 TPE

Now I'm not a travel agent, but I know a little bit about the city. It has a ton of interesting things to do for people of all ages, but if we're targeting specifically hockey players, I guess they might be interested in the golf courses in the area or the night life. It also has some cool museums like the Tampa Bay History Center and the American Victory Ship Mariners Museum and there's also the Florida Aquarium that is quite popular in the area. As hockey players they are probably rich enough to afford michelin starred restaurants, so they will be happy to know that Tampa Bay has five one star restaurants. I would probably go to Koya or Kosen personally. If the all-stars want to get out of the beaten path they could visit the Hindu Temple of Florida, it's got some cool architecture. They could also chill at the Fort De Soto Park which has great views of the ocean. For players coming down to Florida from Canada or more northern states, obviously the tons of beaches around the city are a must, the manatee viewing area on apollo beach is also a nice attraction to check out. I think the city has a ton of stuff to offer that all the players will be excited to check out in their downtime.

That's an easy enough question. I don't see any rules, so you can always think outside the box. Starting lineup for one of the SMJHL conference? Well I would dress SHL players obviously. Pick the top players last season and they're bound to have a blast on the ice and might be able to win the game quite easily. Max Carnage, Jarrod Lakemore, Adam Prpich, Elena Maximova, Philippe-Eko Eel and Justin Time. You should set some rules next time, or else maybe we just resurrect the best players of all time to play in the SMJHL conference, I think they'd do pretty well too.

6. Your player decides to start a youtube channel, what kind of content they are creating?
Elly would start a channel all about what players do off the ice, their hometowns, and fun things to do for training. There are already plenty of podcasts covering what players do on the ice, various stats and the games. Elly would have to fight to gain popularity in these spaces with pre-established channels. But what she really wants to present is things like: what do players eat? What do players like to wear and do in their free time? Are there any trending diets, games, training regimen, outfits and gear they like to wear, that other players also seem to be into? We could have a featured players hometown segmented every week and go into detail about their favorite restaurant(s) and places to relax when not on the ice. Give players a chance to talk about something more passionate to them than just hockey all the time. Giving players a different kind of voice separate from the endless stats. Elly could talk about her zoo in her hometown back in Sapporo. The snow festival would be a massive feature. I’m sure this would also allow those spaces to gain some popularity and endorsement and just allow fans to get more in touch with their favorite players. Even past players can have a say and old hall-of-fame-ers. Of course, Elly herself will have a translator, and I’m sure she could sign off the podcasts with a big boop to the screen too.

5. What can city of Tampa Bay offer to players they are hosting for All-Star games?
Starting with Tampa Bay, we could start a sort of “most hospitable” challenge, where the cities that host their side of the games compete to offer players the best stays and accouterments to the players in the city for those games. Tampa Bay could offer a seaside view down there in Florida, along with a meal service so players can get the protein and meals they need before and in between each of the playoff games. The city can offer shuttles and optional gear care (assuming players don’t want to care for the gear themselves) so that the only thing they have to focus on is playing. I'm not sure if Elly or I know how much time is between each game, but assuming there is time, the city can offer training areas for players should they choose to do any last-minute training. Tampa could be the city that sets the standard for hosting games.

Lime here responded to my chirp about not petting my cat because my hands were wet and called me a coward. I understand the temptation, and frankly if it were any other cat I may have done it but it was my grandma’s old cat who I’m on thin ice with already. A family member is allergic to cats so we’ve never owned one, but now that my grandma’s moved into a place without pets we got her cat. I can discuss my family’s pets forever, or really just pets in general since Lime’s next chirp was about their own pet who they “don’t pet because he’s ugly”. Frankly, I understand. Ugly cats get scritches and pats on the butt, they rarely just sit there and let themselves be pet. I think more people should chirp about any pets they may have or want to have. Maybe add some photos in for good fun. Most discord servers I’m a part of have that dedicated pet channel, but I’m not in every SHL discord so I can’t imagine how many pet and animal pictures I’m missing out on. The site is named after the sound an animal makes after all, it would be only appropriate. (204 words, +4 TPE)

Would you have liked to see more players from these teams, if yes, who should in your opinion have made it? How you feel about the spread of the spots in general?
I think it's pretty important to make sure that all of the teams are represented in the All Star Game. You don't want to take away more things from struggling teams and have to give the younger players something to look forward to in the season. With the re-focus on the All Star Game through All Star Week and the game itself I don't want to see any changes. While I do understand wanting to only celebrate the best of the best I think it functions better as a celebration for all franchises in the league. Let's keep things as is and continue giving small things to those who can't get the deep playoff runs right now.

2. I wouldn't try to keep all the players from the same team together for the all-star team. I definitely understand why you might want to do it, and the arguments in favour of doing it, however, I think there is an incredibly obvious reason you wouldn't do it. You wouldn't necessarily want to keep them together because as we saw all season, when they're together they are clearly of a high enough calibre to make the all-star team as a group of players and as teammates. You also wouldn't want to keep them together because we get to see these 4 play together 66 games a season, thanks to the lack of injuries in this world - so this is, quite frankly, the only way to see these players separate and competing against each other (unless you're going to crash practice or training camp). Lastly, you wouldn't want to keep them together because the natural chemistry they provide together, from the many, many games they've all played together, means that they'll have an unfair advantage against the other team - and this game is all about fun. That said, I also understand the desire to keep them together, it's fun to see the chemistry working together, and it's fun to let these four deserving players, who are likely friends, have a chance to celebrate a hard-fought season together. 6. The Youtube content that Kristian Seppanen would create would mimic Matisse Thybulle's bubble content for the NBA - high production quality "day in the life" content demonstrating what it's like. What we eat as players during the all-star break, what we do in our down time, all the things that are expected of us from film to practice to hitting the gym to media. I would also like Kristian Seppanen, the star right defenceman for the Atlanta Inferno hockey team of the eastern conference of the Simulation Hockey League (otherwise known as the SHL) to film some content of what he, as a Finnish player, does to have fun in his down time when it differs from what players from other backgrounds do in their down time. If I have learned anything in my time watching sports in general it is that chemistry is incredibly important to see success in the games. My go to example here is that an offensive line lacking any stars, but that has been working together for years can outperform a line made up of stars. Being able to work well together beats out individual talents and so from a success perspective I would say you absolutely would want to keep them together. However this is the All Star game which is made more for entertainment value than it is for one side trying to win I would say and in that regard I would rather see the players get spread out to see people who would not normally be able to play together get to play together on a big stage. I think that would lead to a more entertaining game for the audience at least based on my perspective as someone who has never watched a hockey All Star game, but has watched the Pro Bowl. Thank you!

Okay I am going to answer this as a Chicago homer in that I think the entirety of the Chicago Syndicate should have been selected instead of any of the players from any of the other teams because I love them dearly, but also because for the sake of this point task I am going to be an incredibly biased individual in favor of my own team. They would have also performed well because our chemistry would have absolutely lapped everyone else given we are a team.

I honestly think the fact that so many teams at least got one player into the game means that there is a solid spread and I bias aside cannot really complain about it. Also I do not know enough about hockey to really judge if there were any robberies involved. That said from what I have seen when I have looked it seems like a reasonable enough system to me and so I will tentatively support the spread as it stands.

2. 4 skaters from Los Angeles made it, should coaches try to keep them together or would you want to see things mixed up more?

While I think the best part of the All Star game is the creation of super teams but if I was a coach I would put my players on the same line. The chemistry is there instantly and with the game all about putting up highlights they can go out there and show out and I believe having chemistry will help create the cool plays.

6. Your player decides to start a youtube channel, what kind of content they are creating?

My player's YouTube channel is a mix of content. It will mainly be hockey focused, one day a week will be a video teaching hockey drills and skill, another day would be a travel/gameday blog and then a few days I'll stream. My streams could be about music, or a hang out stream but usually it will be about me gaming. I gotta keep my brand up and out there.

7. What would be your starting lineup, 3 forwards, 2 defencemen and a goalie for one of the SMJHL conferences?

So I'm going with the Southern Conference and I'll be only using on player per team. First up is Center Doug Weight from Maine, the incredible Center is probably the front runner for the MVP and lead the J in points and assists. On his right wing is Lucas Raymond from Nevada, the winger is great offensively and also likes to through his weight around on defense. One the left is Hockey Player from Ottawa a very good forward who can help on the Penalty Kill. At Left Defense we have Hvaik from Colorado, Hvaik had an insane season offensively and he can definitely run the point on the Power Play. Their partner would be the Right Defenseman from Detroit Roquefort Cotswald a reliable 2 way defenseman that really puts their body on the line. Finally between the pipes is Evil Kyle Murray from St. Louis who is 6th in Save % and 5th in wins.

8/ Sunrise van de Schubbekutteveen were not just a huge boost for Calgary but were also a force to be reckon with. After all he was not only the top assister at Calgary with 60 assists which no one could come close to but he was also the second best goal scorer with only Frøya being able to best him with 2 more goals. Of course he was more than just numbers this season. Another strong point of his was faceoffs which he did not just take a lot but also won quite a lot of them, 608 wins to 453 loses, producing the second best faceoff win% and the best among players who took more than 100 faceoffs. So it is safe to say he more than deserved his spot in the all-star team.

5. What can city of Tampa Bay offer to players they are hosting for All-Star games?

Tampa Bay is one of the best possible choices to host an all-star game! The weather is fantastic and there's tons of fun things to do in the area. I am very partial to Busch Gardens Tampa, a world class theme park that is just outside the city. Additionally, it is easy to access with a major airport in the city and ample hotels and amenities for the families and friends of the players who wish to attend. There are beaches all around the area and they could even host a beach hockey style event for fun during the all-star weekend. Additionally, Clearwater is right next door and that's the scientology capital of the east coast, so if any players wanted to join a cult they could look into it while they were there.

9. While yes you would like to see a more even divide of teams where we see more players from different teams its just not always possible in this current era we are in where teams at the top truly dominate and win the voters favor when it comes to the all star game. Teams that struggle tend to lack more than one player who stands out for example Chicago really struggled so I feel it is hard to give it to a second person over the rest hell even the first one is hard to give it to over some other options. I am of firm belief that there does not need to be a guaranteed spot for each team as the team needs to earn these spots as a whole not one individual plays out of their mind on a bad team. We want them to be the reason the team wins not the reason the team makes it a tad closer. While like I said I do understand the want, I am very much a fan of making it so that each team is not required to have an all star but it is simply an outline for what a good season were to look like as that frames a perfect season to me.

8. +4 (206 words) Cale Salad, the legend! This guy’s been tearing it up all season, so seeing him as an All-Star Game candidate is a total no-brainer. First of all, the dude’s got wheels. He’s flying around the ice like he’s on fire and somehow, he’s got this ridiculous ability to make defenders look like they’ve just stepped onto the ice for the first time. One moment they’re on him, and the next, they’re staring at his dust. By the time they catch on, he’s already onto his next move.

But Cale’s not just about speed; he’s got hands softer than a fresh loaf of bread. The guy can set up a play like he’s orchestrating a symphony—except it’s more like a rock concert because it’s loud, chaotic, and gets everyone fired up. And let’s not forget his knack for finding the net. He’s as dangerous as they come when it’s time to light the lamp.Come ASG time, I’m fully expecting him to put on a show. He’s the kind of player who might go for a highlight-reel goal just to make the crowd lose their minds. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see Cale Salad turn the All-Star Game into his own personal salad bowl of excitement? He’s gonna be a blast to watch!

There should obviously be a new award, and it should be awarded to Solaire of Astora. You know what the award should be? Well, honestly, we can make a few of them, because Solaire deserves them all. First and foremost, he should get best dressed, because man, is he spiffy with his helmet, and tabard, his armor, just his whole damn look. Solaire brings class and a nice dress style that can not be matched by anyone else in the league, period. Secondly, another award, best video game character. We know Solaire was sucked out of Dark Souls and brought into the real world by no choice of his own, but since he’s here, why can’t we just give him something to make him feel better about being stuck in a place that is foreign to him and that is a hard adjustment. He has finally figured out hes from a video game, so might as well give him best video game player to play in the SHL. Doing so would make it so that we don’t have to really pay him as much, as our money would do nothing for him, but an award, man those last forever. You get an award and that’s what you remember 10, 20, 30, however many years from now. So give it to Solaire!!!
