S79 PT #2: Person's Best Friend Due: Sunday, October 27th @ 11:59 PM PST

Option 2:
For Elly, she would need a different type of medical professional on call or at least known nearby since she is an animal, and would require different treatment in case of injury, strain, and/or nutrition. Being employed full time might be a little costly and unnecessary, so nearby is the best option. The company's equipment manager wouldn't have to change but is very important to be informed and knowledgeable about Elly's specific needs. These two would be the most essential to ensure Elly is up to standard and performing her best. She does have a nice relationship with them as Elly tries to be as kind as possible, and she loves to thank them often with little gifts. While Elly can catch her own food most of the time, a cook is an amazing non-coaching staff member to help both Elly and the team, and said chef could make meals a little more clean. Lastly a psychotherapist is a wonderful addition to be able to interpret Ellys needs when the team cannot. All these members help Elly and the team to be such a wonderful, healthy, cohesive unit.

Hugh Manius was scared when he heard the specters were getting a mascot pet type of thing. The teams is the specters, meaning ghost. So what kind of ghost is the team looking for exactly? A dog, cat what type of ghost is New Orleans looking for. Hugh really hopes that someone does not suggest that they get some dead animal to hang out on the bench that would be just distasteful. Not to mention the picking up the pieces of this mascot animal as to rot away Would be terrible. Walt would probably glue the pieces back on the poor thing. That would be horrible Hugh would more than likely be demanding a trade. Hugh knows no one would take care of it other than glueing pieces back on. This is just such a bad idea, hopefully this idea dies (pun intended) with management because Hugh will have to leave the team as he would like no part of doing anything with a dead animal.

Support staff in the world of professional sports are super important and I do not think any team can spend too much on hiring the right people for the job with the right training, experience, and people skills. One of the most important staff members that my players team employs has to be the physical therapist. Whenever my player has a weird feeling in there body while skating or maybe lifting or whatever it is they are doing they know they can pop into their office and they can help them in a multitude of ways. They can jump right into getting an idea of what might be causing the feeling or pain then the physical therapist can even go right into some physical work on the spot then set up a plan for my player to do on their time to see if the problem gets better or not. Its super convenient and pretty great.

The Anchorage Armada had a pet, for a time. Alas, it was not meant to be. The Armada team pet was a dog by the name of Farfel. The team actually adopted Farfel after Elaina Beneski's friend, Jerzi Seinficki, met an elderly gentleman on an airplane, then Farfel's owner. The old man's health was failing him and Jerzi graciously accepted the burden of finding poor Farfel, a truly gentle and loving beast, a new home. As luck would have out, Elaina had just recently mentioned that the Armada were in search of a new team pet.

Jerzi flew out to Anchorage, Farfel in tow, to help the hound settle in to his new home and care for him while the team made more permanent arrangements for his upkeep. Unfortunately, that's where matters took a turn for the worse. Jerzi was sadly poorly equipped to handle the needs of as delicate a beast as Farfel and he had to be sent to live with his former owner's nephew.

For Aslak, there are two obvious answers regarding the most important members outside of the coaching staff in Quebec City. The first, of course, is the training staff that keep him in one piece as he battles in front of the net night after night. While his larger frame gives him an advantage, it's still a brutal way to maintain a spot on a professional hockey roster, and a lot of work has to go in both in terms of injury prevention and maintenance to keep him in top shape.

There's also the sports psychologists that keep him mentally in check. Joining the SMJHL was his first experience with such a staff, and it was vital as he adjusted to professional hockey and being a third-liner even at the junior level after spending most of this developmental years as the best player on the ice. There's no doubt they are vital for his improvement during his sophomore season.

Option 2:
The Tampa Bay management goes the unorthodox route of hiring a professional “glue guy” for the locker room. Normally this is a role fulfilled by a player. Someone whose personality either sharpens the highest performers, or dulls the ache of the worst loses. They can be crass or empathetic or both. Its someone who is not typically the superstar. Someone who finds their place without needing to show up on the stat sheet.

Hiring someone to only fulfill this role is certainly not traditional to say the least. For that reason management has decided to keep it hush hush, and not even really tell the players what this new person is doing in their locker room. To avoid some base level of suspicion, management gave them a mundane task that gives them reason to be there in the first place: grilling fresh hot dogs right there in the locker room. Sure that’s not “traditional” either, but are you really going to argue when there is a freshly grilled hot dog in it for you? Didn’t think so.

Written Option 1:

I would imagine that the Tidal/Blizzard would end up getting a dog of some sort as a team pet or mascot, likely named Sandy or Blizzard for the latter. If it was for Edmonton, I’d imagine Blizzard would likely be a husky puppy that was brought with the team to every game and be picked by the GM. For the most part, I’d imagine Blizzard would hang out in the locker room to boost the team’s spirits, but might occasionally join the team on the bench. As for who would take care of it, I think that the responsibility of caring for Blizzard would probably fall to one of the team members. More than likely I would imagine it would probably be one of the captains, likely Alexa Johanssen. Though I do imagine they may spend a bit of time with each player on occasion, maybe a weekend or something similar.

Prompt 1 - 155 words

So the GM is suggesting that we get a team pet because he read a study that having a team pet would boost morale and boy do the Steelhawks need a morale boost with how this season is going.  The GM leaves the decision up to the team, but lahey already has a plan that will get two birds stoned at once. His plan is getting a few cats for the team, after all they can be very affectionate, require very little care compared to most animals, but they will need to get a handler to clean the litter boxes and feed them, and Trevor knows just the person, his old pal bubbles. His thinking is that bubbles could use a job and taking care of cats is one of bubbles biggest dreams and bubbles could also supply the cats, its a win - win. Let's just hope that his teammates are cool with the idea

Option 1: As age begins to creep in on Hoang, he relies more and more on the strength trainers to keep him as an elite force. Earlier in his career the bumping and scraping wouldn’t be much of a factor from day to day, but as his prime begins to wane, it’s a certainty that joints freeze up, bruises stick longer, and sometimes things lock up for longer than they used to. It takes a lot of focus for Hoang to stay in the gym, working hard than he ever has on constant conditioning and time for recovery. It’s much the same story for many of his fellow offensive stars, as the young roster looks to learn as much as they can from these older souls of the SHL, Hoang finds it important to instill in their new generation just how crucial the trainer team is in Minnesota. It’ll be a key part of the possibilities they shoot for in the future.

Option 2:

The three most important staff members outside of the coaching staff that help Matiss would be the personal trainer, dietitian, and equipment manager. The personal trainer is important to be able to develop exercise programs that allow Matiss to be the best player that he can be day in and day out throughout the SHL season. Having a good personal trainer is important to be able to build a players body up correctly for the sport that they are playing. The dietitian is important, because if you are not eating right throughout the season then you will not be able to provide the proper nutrients to be able to perform at the highest level every night. Having a dietitian be able to plan out meals for her game days and on game days is highly important for keeping an athletes high level of play. and lastly, the equipment manager is important, because if you did not have good equipment, including not having your skate sharpened the correct way and sticks cut the perfect way then that can throw off your players entire feeling on the ice. Having consistency with equipment is important for how your player feels on the ice. All three of these things combined help improve Matiss as a player and are important to him.

Prompt 1
So Edzus had the incredibly brilliant idea of getting a life sized lion, because obviously a small sized one (cat) wouldn't have been enough for the San Francisco Pride forward. He also had to take the most prideful one, meaning the lion wouldn't let ANYONE with even an ounce of disappointment, disapproved energy, or looking down on him (I ran out of D words). Another great news is that the lion, named Gregory, nicknamed HELP THERE’S A LION IN THE ARENA, doesn't want to listen to anyone who isn't Latvian and on the Pride. Fancy way to say Edžus Ozolins, yeah, I know. So, in short, there's a loose, big lion with more attitude than Sonja Solberg of the Calgary Dragons ever had in her entire life, and doesn't listen to anyone else than certified dummy Edzy. For rather evident reasons… no one else can, nor will, willingly pass a full week keeping Gregory in their room. For now, he hasn't hurt anyone, and armed with steak, team staff have kept his hunger in check. Once San Fran plays a team without a lifetime supply of beef though… only God, also known as Matviy Cajabi, knows what may happen.

P1: Alright, picture this: our GM comes in all pumped up, talking about “team spirit” and how he’s got this amazing idea to bring us closer. I’m expecting, like, a new trainer or some fancy gear—but nope. He introduces us to Gabby the Gabagool, a cat. A black-and-white cat with a face that says she’s already sick of us. I gotta say, she fits right in.

Gabby’s not your usual mascot. She struts into the locker room like she’s in charge, tail up, already picking her favorite spots to nap or stare us down. And yeah, she’s got full access. She even hangs out on the bench during practice, giving us this look like, “That’s the best you got?”

And taking care of her? That’s on us. Each guy on the team takes a turn on “Gabagool duty,” keeping her happy with treats and toys—maybe even a tiny jersey. So yeah, we’re a hockey team with a cat now. But honestly? She’s already tougher than some of our forwards.
