S79 PT #5: Analytical Comments Due: Sunday, November 17th @ 11:59 PM PST

Edouard Lavoie would accept the job so long as the salary would be given to a charity of his choice. He would spend as much time as reasonably possible during the time he was given the offer and actually beginning the commentary. He would look into the teams playing in the match he would be commentating and then learn some background about the sport itself and then familiarize himself with the star players on each team that would be competing that day. He would do his best to know as much as possible so that he could be engaging as a commentator, but he would also be up front with the fans and the staff that he is very new to the sport and is doing his best to learn about it. He would then continue to learn about it after the opportunity in the event that they wanted to bring him back for more charitable opportunities in the future.

Option 2

My player got called to guest star as a play by play commentator at a cricket match somewhere around London. She doesn't know why they picked her to do the commentary or what they thought a Canadian hockey player like her would have to contribute, but she would probably agree to do it anyways because why not I guess? There's a bat, and a ball, and some running.. (I think?), how card could it be to come up with some words about those things. She would probably do some light googling to see what the rules of the game are so she doesn't go in completely blind I guess, but otherwise she's probably going to rely on some small talk and maybe a couple of beers to keep things interesting. If she makes a fool of herself well.. I suppose it's less her problem than the people who invited her, unless of course their primary goal was to embarrass her or something but that would be a really random mean thing to do.

Ring Ring! Big Sweg has been contacted by the International Simulation Football League broadcasting team to join them as a guest commentator. The deal is for him to be a play-by-play addition where he is supposed to add short comments about the play. The thing is that Big Sweg don't know any of the rules of hand egg. He knows Tom Brady and the show Ballers by The Rock. Big Sweg is not known for studying and has never been his entire life, so obviously he won't study for this either. The pay check is far too good to say no, Hand egg is such a big sport and there is a lot of money, so this one broadcast is almost as much as Big Swegs entire contract for the year. How did the broadcast go? Obviously amazing. Big Sweg added some "OH HE WENT THERE"s and "OH DAMN WHAT A PASS"es. He added some memes and he gained 200k followers on X.

Written Option 1:Your team’s local broadcasting station’s analyst desk has invited your player to talk about themselves as well as their team’s upcoming playoff matchup and the best way to win. If your player hasn’t made the playoffs, they instead invite you to talk about your player’s performance this season and how your team can improve next season. What do you tell the desk about your team’s current match up? What do you tell the desk about your own player’s performance? How is your player while on the desk? Are they a nervous wreck or are they cracking jokes and quips with expert charisma?

It is a possible turning point in our franchise history. There was a really high point for the Seattle Argonauts which led to some major success with four deep playoff runs in four straight years resulting in two championships. The problem that came from that was the fallout of having no picks and an old team. Finally, after years and years of a total rebuild, the Argonauts are close to being back. We are young and hungry and ready to make an impact on this league. Last season was a return to the playoffs followed by a swift exit in four games. This season the hope is for slightly more, but still knowing we are a season or two before making an impact. The exciting thing though is how incredible this team has meshed. We are a unit and even if we do fall again this season in the first round, the future looks incredibly bright in Seattle.

Will Tomlander will definitely make an attempt to sound like he knows what he is doing by commentating for this random sport even though he really knows nothing inside. He knows that he can just translate over the hockey chirps that he uses and the hockey cliches that he uses for the interviews during the season, because all sports have sports cliches during interviews and panel discussions. Get the sportsball deep, make sure to work hard, and never give the opposing team time and space to do their thing. You can apply that to almost anything, even when you are talking about non sports! Regarding the money, Will Tomlander will donate that money to charities in Seattle because honestly he is getting paid to play a game that he loves, and other people are not so fortunate. This is especially true in the Christmas season, there are a lot of families out there that do not have the money to celebrate or even to have a gift for each another. Be good to each other!

Written Option 2:

If there's one thing that anyone knows who has watched any kind of sports, it's that there's usually at least one person (usually more) who despite being an "expert" clearly has no idea what they're talking about or is just typically bad at their job.
So, if you think Matviy Cajabi is about to turn down that kind of money even if he doesn't know the sport, then you've got another thing coming.

As chance would have it, Cajabi was recently asked to join a broadcast for an upstart pickleball league in his home country Ukraine. Knowing nothing about it  but figuring his love for pickles might help him compensate, he agreed.
Much like a student cramming the morning of a test that he forgot he had, Cajabi uses the lengthy flight home to brush up on his sportpickle by reading a few copies of Pickleball Illustrated (that's a thing, right?), binging a few episodes of the McGuffin show podcast as well as scouring through the usual suspects Reddit and YouTube.

With the comfort of being able to talk in his native tongue as well as having a year of professional hockey under his belt (not to mention the incentive of a big payday), the normally reserved Cajabi should be able to come out of his shell and provide the avid picklers with some riveting pickleball commentary and insight.

Option 1:

After the Buffalo Stampede was knocked out from the play-offs, Furious Chicken was looking for something else to do until the France team got together for the IIHF, eventually an opportunity came up, he could commentate the upcoming play-off match which sounded like an interesting proposition, now the big choice was which of the 2 games did Furious Chicken want to commentate on, after thinking back on his teams big loss against the Atlanta Inferno, he decided to go for the other play-off match and so it came to be that the Furious Chicken was going to be commentating the San Francisco Pride – Texas Renegades match. The main thing Chicken will be bringing to the table is an “expert” opinion from the players perspective, which the channel found him qualified for since Chicken is currently an ice hockey player in this very same league, they would quickly find out if they were wrong or right with Chicken’s, sometimes strange, outlook on ice hockey.

Written Option 1:

"Your team has a big matchup with Nevada Battleborn. What do you think of the game? And how do you think you can win?”

“It will be a battle. There is no doubt. Nevada is strong. They have a strong offense and defense that makes you work hard in every way, but for us it's about sticking to our strengths. We have to control the pace of the game and We know that taking advantage of mismatches is where communication on both sides of the floor is key. And if we take away the intensity shown in the second half of the season, I like our chances.”

“Besides, I won't reveal too much of the game plan here. If I spill everything Coach will kill me.”

“So happy to have you, Valtteri, good luck in the playoffs. Do you have any final words for your fans?”

"thank you! Rock with us, your energy fuels us, we have great things ahead. And I can't wait to make you proud.”

Chris McZehrl III received an invite for a Baseball game co commentating. The problem with that is, he have absolutely no clue about basebal. He did play in the school in the past in germany the game "Brennball". that is very similar but not the same and he also never was a fan of it. The pay is very nice but this will end in a totally desaster for Chris. Good thing is he will spend all this money to the McZehrl Foundation to help people in need. So he isn't doing it for himself. But we will have surely a lot to laugh about his commentating. As Chris had the phone call the boss told him that he will receive a mail with some infos. I would say "some infos" were a bit a joke. It was a massive mail and Chris was looking through the PDF. He gone crazy with all the new stuff. In the end many people had a good time to hear Chris co commentating and for the McZ Foundation it was also a good thing. All are happy and maybe Chris will do it again but in a sport he knows better like Soccer or Basketball besides the hockey sport.

Jaromir Jagrbomb showed up to the desk looking pretty nervous and disappointed ahead of the upcoming matchup against Philadelphia.

"I think our regular season was pretty disappointing, and just barely making the playoffs is not what we intended to do this season. We're not yet a true top team in the league, so facing the conference winner Philadelphia is a huge challenge for us. It's pretty obvious that we need to step up and play at a completely new level if we want to advance from this series", Jagrbomb says.

Despite scoring a respectable 25 goals as a defenseman, he is not satisfied with his individual effort.

"I managed to score a nice amount of goals, but it does not help if the team is not doing well. My defensive game was not as strong this season as I would have wanted it to be, so that is something that I will need to improve in before next season. Now that we're getting at least a taste of playoff hockey, it will be a a great test for us to see where we are and what we all need to get better at", Jagrbomb says.
