Recap my J career and aknowleding people
#1

Intro
With Saint-Louis's elimination against Carolina in the 2nd round, junior career has officially come to and end. I wanted to take a moment to reflect on my journey so far.  Consider this as a recap of my four seasons, along with a mention of some people who positively influenced my experience in the SHL.

Season 1 - Season 76
I joined the SHL after doing a google search to find a simulation league and stumbled upon the SHL. When I signed up, the SMJHL draft has just occured 2-3 days before so I had to join a team via the waiver wire. Very quickly, many teams reached out and a lot of them were very interesting in having me. Ultimately, I joined St-Louis who had the first waiver claim.

My first season is, by far, my favorite one I had the league. When I joined, I was so excited of the prospects. I would spend hours either on the SHL website, on the various Discord servers of the league (and especially STL LR) or writing media. Even though the team didn't have many users, I think this is the season where it was the most active. Every day we'd talk and have a lot of fun with many people not on the team also being very active in the locker room. On the ice, results weren't very positive and the team struggled a lot finished 2nd to last place with only 19 wins. We got destroyed in the playoffs in 5 games. But that didn't matter, the LR aspect was very fun and I would spend over 10 hours a week in the LR. I was named assistant captain in my rookie season which was a huge honor.

Afterwards, it was a very exciting time with the SHL draft. I remember putting it on my TV and being so excited to see where I would go. Ultimately, being picked 7th to New England. I was also very involved in St-Louis draft for the SMJHL one, being a scout. This was very fun.

Season 2 - Season 77
The second season started very positively. We had gotten some very exciting new players in the draft in @Gyro_Hero and @Otis Boudreaux. There was also this kid called @David VanHousen, more on him later. The LR was still fun even though a tad less active than in the previous season. The addition of Caliph (Gyro) was HUGE, we were very lucky to have him. One of the best person in this league. On ice performances weren't very strong once again, but we did have of the craziest upsets in SMJHL post-season history. Go read the last line of that article if you want to hear more on this David kid that I mentioned earlier. On the personal side though, some stuff happened and I started to lose interest in the whole thing, I was also realizing that I would spend way too much time on discord and this wasn't healthy. I removed all Discord notifications from my phone which helped a ton, reducing my weekly time on Discord by 90%. I still continued to max earn however.

Season 3 - Season 78
I remember little of my third season. I missed a month of LR activity because I was gone for a whole month on a trip. I continued to max earn but I didn't have the time to login Discord. The team was okay but we lost quickly in the playoffs. I don't have much to say on it since I feel like I missed the whole thing.

Season 4 - Season 79
The season that just concluded. It was a special season for many reasons. The majority of the people that were very active in my first two seasons in the LR were no longer there, but on the positive side, a whole new group of players were now active in the LR. And this season definitely felt like a passing of the torch season where we saw this group of rookie establish themselves in the LR and take possession of this team. With our captain, Cake, gone as a player, I became captain for this last season and it was a fun experience. Even though my activity level diminished a lot compared to when I first joined the club, I feel like this club is in good hands. On ice, I had by far my best individual performances and I finished among the top 10 of the league in points. Team wise, we were a lot better and it was fun to see the team perform as well.

Acknowledging some people
The main reason for my article. I wanted to take a moment to aknowledge some great people that were in my team in the last few seasons and also across the league.

@jaypc8237 for welcoming in St-Louis and being a friend on the team. He was the co-gm of the team for my first season and will always be the person I associate with the real cogm of St-Louis. It was a shocked when he stepped down in at the end of my first season.

@DeThePyro A controversial person around the league and hated by many, I liked having Pyro in the LR. He brought drama and activity and was just funny to laugh at. He also accepted to be my podcast partner on the first one I did and I will appreciate him for that. We have gone our separate ways and no longer talk, but I will always remember Pyro for the great controversial activity he contributed in the LR in my first season.

@kahri, @xjoverax, @lore, @BadWolf, @Crazytomato, @ (friends of the band) People that I mostly interacted with in my first two seasons that I got along very well back then in the LR. Even though we don't speak much anymore, thank you for making the LR a great place!

@Jimbo1990, @Ferwx@TheGreatToeJam,@PandaMan The future of the club. Four members that joined the team in my last season. It's now your time to shine boys, carry this club to new heights. Once Caliph graduates next season, ToeJam you will be the future captain of this team and I know you will be a great leader.

@TheSparkyDee, @JKortesi81, @39alaska39 three guys that were old leaders on this club. Weren't very active, but when they spoke, we all listened! Thank you for your wisdom.

@chetib Someone I have interacted very little with but because of this dude, I got Lasik which changed my life for the better. Thank you!

@Anthique @Takk806 Deux Québécois! Two guys I have always loved talking with via DMs in French. You guys are great and I appreciate you both a lot.

@Gyro_Hero A legend. An amazing person, I love this dude. The type of guy who everyone loves and attracts so many people. One of the few people in this league I could see becoming friends with IRL with.

@Jimmysmo27 My GM. A man of few words. Thank you for trusting me enough to have me a scout and join the front office after only one season.

@cake307 Thank you Cake for being such an active member of the LR. When I think back on my time in STL, you always come up in my memories. Cake was always there, always present. A person that truly has the team in his heart. You joining as CoGM made such an improvement on our ice performance, you did a great job!

@Snussu, @Troy_McClure03,@HabsFanFromOntario, @Seany148, @JR95, @NaomiMannequeen, @frithjofr All people that I have had various level of interaction with but that I wanted to acknowledge as great people in the league.

@luke Thank you Luke for teaching me so much on this league. For putting your trust in me and making me a high first round pick, a true legend in the SHL. I hold you in high regard and I'm very excited to finally join your team and have a chance to play for you.

@HillsHaveHats The most underestimated person this league. When I was drafted New England as the 7th picked, HHH was also drafted 9th so we joined the team together. At that moment we started talking and have never stopped. A great person that I now consider an IRL friend.

@OVOXO I conclude with OVOXO, one of my best friends in IRL. Thank you for accepting my invitation to join me in the SHL and thank you for your amazing friendship, I deeply appreciate you.

And now, on to Wolfpack ! This is only the beginning and I'm thrilled to see what the next seasons in New England have in store! My biggest regret in St-Louis was to never have a chance to win a cup (or even come close to winning one) and I hope this comes to fruition in New England.

Thanks for the shoutout buddy, and congrats on a solid career in the J.

As you probably know from our conversations, I love when I get the chance to interact with and help develop newer players, first gens and the like. I think that your first time through the J is some of the most magical time in the league and sim-league experience overall. It was a pleasure working together with you in the WJC and getting to know you and watching your player's career. Lucky for all of us, you've got a long way to go and a great career in the show ahead of you!
