Sadly, we are turning a page in the media team. With @mystick, @dogwoodmaple and @thiefofcheese leaving, an entire generation of media graders has recently announced or confirmed their departure. Many of you were already part of the team before I joined, and it has been an incredible privilege to work with all of you.

As a result, TheGreatToeJam and I are now seeking four (4) new media graders to join our team.

All four positions are within the media team. However, current podcast graders will have priority to apply for these roles. If one of them is selected, it will create a vacancy in the podcast team, which we will then need to fill with the applications received.

Media grader duties include:

Reading through all media posted during your grading period
Assigning a bonus to applicable media
Confirming word count and checking for AI content
Participating in discussions with the SHL Media Head about member engagement and improving the media community.
Filling in grading spreadsheet
Submitting a bank request for all graded media during your period

For media graders, pay is $5,000,000 per season with a $1,000,000 bonus for not missing any of your monthly grading periods.

We consider media grading a great entry-level job for new members of our community. During recent recruitments, we have tended to hire new members who do not yet have stable sources of income within the league but show a strong interest in getting involved.

All members of our team place great importance on rigour, attention to detail, teamwork, and availability. The involvement periods are set in advance, and media graders work in pairs.

Applications are due Wednesday, November 27th at 11:59 PM Pacific. Please note that we reserve the right to close the application process earlier if we identify suitable candidates before this date. A small group might be selected for a second round of interviews that includes some test grading. We hope the positions will be filled by the end of the season, at the latest.
