The end of a Junior Era
#1

After a huge run in the season 79 playoff and a heartbroken 2OT loss in game 5 against Québec City in the final, Sam Volta's Junior career as come to an end. At the beginning of this offseason, Volta will join his SHL Team, that drafted him during the s77 draft.

I want to take the time to recap all the four seasons that my player performed in the SMHJL. And oh boy, it's been a long journey!

Season 1 - Season 76:

With the junior draft, I was drafted 18th overall by the San Diego Tidal (which is during the extra 5 drafts from the Expansion draft). @SDCore and @Mysterious_Fish saw the potential of my player and draft me as their ''last s76 pick'' for the team. I was drafted by the same team with my fellow teammates from the same class which are @Security Shark and @JURT. For the first few pre-season games, the team tried to see how the chemistry works. Since we are a new team, we haven't got the same range of chemistry as the other teams.

In the pre-season, the Tides went 2-5-0, which they all know that happen because of the lack of chemistry with the innaugural season. At the end of the regular season, the Tidal went 33-32-1 in the season. Which is the 9th overall in the standings. For my player, it was the best of all time with 71 points (27 goals and 44 assists) during that season. This production of points was because of feeding a lot of passes to Brandon Gilleyes. With that stats, I was the player in the s77 draft class with the most points. Which is already an accomplishement for me. I didn't realise to get so many points during that season!

Sadly, in the playoffs, the Tides got beaten by Nevada 4-1 in the first round, which is a sad end of the innaugural season. However, with the wonderful season that I did with the Tidal, I manage to win the Esa Anrikkanen Award, dedicaded for the best rookie of the season, aswell as being in the Rookie All-Star team.

Season 2 - Season 77:

After getting drafted by the Chicago Syndicate (3rd Overall selection), Volta saw a little regression in terms of points by accumulating 53 points (19 goals and 34 assists) in 66 games. The Tides finished 16th in the league with a 21-44-1 during the whole season. Which they need to face a big opponent for the playoffs. In the playoffs, the Tides went short versus the Maine Timber. In fact, they lost the series 1-4 for the second time in a row.

During the offseason, Volta went playing the junior tournament by playing for his nation: Canada. Since they have so many canadians, he was selected to play for team Canada Red. During the whole tournament, he managed to get a total of 15 points (3 goals and 12 assists) during the round roubin and the playoffs. With that help, team Canada Red managed to win against UCORAL to get the Bronze Medal.

Season 3 - Season 78:

After a slow start with the Tidal, Sam Volta and his teammate, Paul Charron, were sent to the Nevada Battleborn in exchange for some draft picks for the next draft. The GM does that trade to ''make a rebuild for the Tidal and trying to save the offensive production of Sam Volta and Paul Charron to a team who has more potential to go for a deep run in the playoffs.'' With that said, Volta and Charron were back to business to manage to get some huge points for the new team. With that trade, Sam Volta is back again at the point per game range by making 66 points (25 goals and 41 assists) in 64 games. At the end of the season, the Nevada finished 4th in the league with a 39-24-3 sheet.

During the playoffs, the Battleborn faced against Ottawa in the first round. It went super well for the first games with the Battleborn leading the series 3 to 1 against Ottawa. HOWEVER, with a small mistake from the simmers (I still love the hard work you do all Simmers! <3 ), a resim has been made for the whole first round playoff. Which it went unlucky for the Battleborn since it went for a 3-1 series lead to a 2-4 series exit against Ottawa!

Is this the beginning for a ''playoff curse'' for Sam Volta?!!!?

Season 4 - Season 79:

During the offseason, Sam Volta and Paul Charron went to a new destination : Colorado. In fact, the Nevada Battleborn was in a rebuild phase and decided to trade their 2 veterans to get some fresh players and to make sure those veterans helps the new ones in their new team, aswell as to keep their good offensive stats. With Colorado, Sam Volta went back to lead the team as he has been voted to be the first assistant capitain of the team to help with the new Dinos to get used to the league. As a deep second line center, Volta went to another point per game season (his third one out of four season) with 68 points (27 goals and 41 assists) in 68 games. For this season, the Raptors finished 6th in the league with a 40-23-3 sheet.

During the playoffs, the Raptors faced the Detroit Falcons in the first round. It was very easy that they feast them a sweep to go on the next round! For the second round, they faced the Maine Timber, which Volta and Charron already faced up in the season 77. They want to seek revenge! That playoff was intense as the two teams shared each game a victory until they Raptos managed to axed the Timber with a 6-4 win in game 7. For the semi-finals, the Raptors faced the best South team in the season: the Carolina Kraken. With the help of every player in the team and the incredible saves from Meowlnir Kittenson, the Raptors grilled the Kraken by winning the series 4-1 and get their ticket for the SMJHL Finals!

However, their cinderella dream fell short as they faced the best team in the league: the Québec City Citadelles. In game 5, the Raptors slipped in double overtime to lost the series 1-4. Such a heartbroken moment for the whole team!

As the WJC start soon, Sam Volta will play one last time for Team Canada, but this time, he will lead the team Canada Black because he was named Captain for the team! We will see how it goes in the next weeks.

As the end of his J career, Sam Volta managed to make 258 points (98 goals and 160 assists) in 262 regular SMJHL games. Aswell as getting 41 points (22 goals and 19 assists) in 32 SMJHL playoff games, with the San Diego Tidal, the Nevada Battleborn and the Colorado Raptors.

The shout outs:

I really want to thanks these people during the whole J career of my player:
- @SDCore and @Mysterious_Fish: the GM and co-GM of the San Diego Tidal. Thank you for trusting my player and drafted me. It was a wonderful experience to play the innaugural season as a Tidal and manage to win some awards because of your incredible work. Without that, I don't know what my player will be in the league!

- @JohnFranklinKennedy and @fancey13: the GM and co-GM of the Nevada Battleborn. Thank you guys so much to make my player back to his original status with your work. Sadly, the sim gods weren't in our favour in the playoffs. I know it was a short time in the team but I liked the discussion with you guys and the teammates in the locker room!

- @Takk806 and @ThisSeemsFishy: the Gm and co-GM of the Colorado Raptors. Thank you so much to bring the fun with the last season for my player. It was a wonderful experience playing with Colorado and pushing forward and deeper in the playoffs as one of the key factors in the team. I can't stop saying thank you aswell for the positivity and the fun times chatting in the locker room with showing some of my projects and starting the TCG Pokémon Pocket SHL Addiciton. Haha! That was so much fun! I'm really glad to cross with you guys!

- @Popol, @kahri, @Troy_McClure03, @tredpalo and @Gaia Mormont for the nice talk across all the 4 seasons! I really made good friends along the journey on the SMJHL and can't wait to see you guys in the SMJHL!!!

- @Security Shark: My beloved team captain and partner that stayed in the San Diego Tidal all the 4 seasons! I wish you the best luck with Baltimore as you will come in the SHL the same time as me!

- @JURT: My beloved teammate who we travel together in different teams during our careers! With the ups and downs, we manage to had a good career and get ourselves in the finale at our last season. I hope we will play soon in another time or we can still DM in the different servers we are.

I just want to say that I was greatful to everyone that I came across during the whole J career. If it was my teammate, my opponent, my co-GM during the WJC or just another player that we had a discussion. I am greatfull every second of it!

I think that's the end of the J career. What a moment! Like always, I will keep my head up and turn the page as I will become a Chicago Syndicate now!

Gotta go fast!

- Sam Volta

N.B.: I will still send some new song released in the Discord servers that I'm in (in the music channels). I know I got an issue with one of my song got stolen, but I will still give some sneak peeks to everyone in this community!
