It is enough of an edge to give the offensive advantage to Philly. They are coming out of a harder division, so their goals are harder to come by and worth a little bit more as well. However the question needs to answer if the offensive advantage that Philly has is enough to over come the pride.

No. The only way I see a defenseman winning a position ambiguous award in this league, with this committee is either lead the entire league in that category which if we are brutally honest is never going to happen, or by playing on the San Francisco Pride. Call me sour, but if you objectively look at the awards and Hall of Fame picks over the last few seasons there is a heavy SFP bias, so much so to the point where players who are better in almost every single category get passed over for someone on the pride. I have no interest in trying to change it or make things better though, that's my past life. I'm just along for the ride, maybe say the occasional thing outloud that people are thinking.

4. High end offensive talent is cool and all but Justin Time is ahead of BASE PACK on save%, goals against average and goals saved above average. Can Philadelphia solve them or is it Time for another Challenge Cup in San Francisco?

Something is wrong with Pack these playoffs. He has had a monkey on his back that is really difficult to toss off. That is quite worrying heading into the finals because you need all cylinders firing, and if the goalie is struggling you are in for a world of hurt. Look across the leagues and it is pretty rare that a goalie carries a team to the cup - the instances are few and far in between, however the teams who win the cup have good goaltending. Time has provided San Fran with just that, good goaltending, and unless Philly can cast a curse on him they are in troubled waters.

In order to have a modicum of success in the simulation hockey league, it starts with management. Usually, you need to absolutely bust in the season to get a guaranteed bonafide top 3 forward, top 2 d man, or all-star generational talent of a goaltender.
Additionally, It is not all about the “top” draft picks, you need to scout guys in a properly curated and estimated Championship Window. For instance, this year Edzus Ozolins had a career year, despite being drafted 27th overall in Season 69. You need your guys to show up, barring career ending injury (inactivity) or other issues (locker room cancer). You need to rely on your guys and know what to expect. Obviously, everyone cannot be a top earner, so management must temper their expectations and start with a good blueprint for their championship window. I dont think necessarily you need to “tank”, if you can get a top 10 pick, you may be just as good as a bonafide tanker. For instance, Atlanta is another team who never missed playoffs since their inception, yet, they’re on pace to enter their championship window right now, and even took the philadelphia forge to 6 games in the eastern conference finals. I think next season, Atlanta comes out of the east against either Los Angeles or San Francisco once more. (224 WORDS, +4 TPE)

I like the structure of our current tournaments. One may argue that we could blend some countries together to make parity a little higher, but I think it echoes real-life IIHF content. There usually is a high concentration of users in the top 4 teams, and that’s ok. Users can realistically make an educated choice as to who they’d like to play for in the IIHF prior to creation. This gives users some control, and the ability to participate in something they want to. I think if anything, skip the every year IIHF and create an “olympics” style tournament, where it only happens every 2 or 3 seasons. This likely would garner more interest in international tournaments. I think world junior should stay exactly the same. If IIHF is having an issue, perhaps another option is naming 8-10 countries, and a user must select one from a drop down menu in order to select their eligibility. Non-hockey nations can be wiped out, and we can have countries like Canada, USA, Sweden, Russia, Finland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Switzerland, and Latvia rather than JAPAN and IRELAND.

12. The IIHF tournament is always a blast – and it was really nice to be part of Team Sweden last season! I think the usual suspects like Canada, Norway, Switzerland, and Czechia will always be factors when it comes to the tournament, but France surprised me the last two seasons, even making it to the finals before being taken down by Sweden. As far as my own player, I would love to play on the team again, but understand there are plenty of up and coming players for Sweden that might not make that possible. I got on as a rookie pick last season, and I have no expectation of being on the team the next time around. Currently, the team has at least 15 players ahead of Violet on the raw TPE list , including a couple of others from her draft class (center SUHS and defender Sundqvist). In the next few seasons I may get lucky as Graj Virrok and M’Baku Olubori regress, but not really before then. I wish there were some options for an intermediate team between the WJC and IIHF, although I also wonder if not being picked for Sweden this year will lead to being moved over to a different team (we’ll see). 14. It was a bit rude for San Francisco to win in the way they did. Couldn’t they at least pretend to make it close? The 14-0 or whatever insane victory they had felt like a blight on the league, but it just seemed like Philadelphia were totally outmatched in all respects – talent, tactics, overall strategy, and mental. The series was very clearly over after the Pride won by a dozen-plus goals or what have you. I’m not sure if Philadelphia could have done anything to change the overall result – it’s hard to overturn a series where you’re at a twenty-something goal deficit overall. We probably should have seen it coming since SFP were like 60 goals ahead in GD compared to the second-place team, and because the top three teams all came from their own conference. I’m almost wondering if San Francisco sandbagged the first game to actually make the series seem fair, as the 2-8 loss they suffered was totally out of character for the remainder of the series. My favorite part of the series if I’m being perfectly honest was when it ended. I was hoping Atlanta would have at least lost to the winner of the championship but knew it was a long shot; the next IIHF tournament being hosted in Philadelphia must have felt like a bittersweet consolation prize for the Forge after that series. The Chicago Syndicate are going on a road trip! They’ll be hopping on a bus and heading over to their neighbors in Philadelphia to attend the finals matchup between the Forge and the Pride. The team is excited to watch the action up close, hoping to learn valuable lessons about what it takes to compete at the highest level and maybe see themselves in the cup finals next year. The journey promises to be exciting and a great team building excersize.

MattyJ has been put in charge of planning the trip and has taken his responsibilities seriously. He’s calculated that the 11-hour drive will require about three stops for gas, with each break giving the team a chance to stretch their legs and refuel—both literally and figuratively. In addition to the gas stops, MattyJ has also organized a group dinner at a popular spot along the way, ensuring the team gets to enjoy some quality bonding time over michelin star food from a local mall food court. During the drive, the players plan to keep busy with card games, team trivia, and even a movie or two on the bus. By the time they arrive in Philadelphia, they’ll not only be ready for the game but also closer as a team.

In the SHL, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to success. It honestly depends on a team's philosophy, timing, and even a little bit of luck. On one hand, the high but shorter peak strategy can work wonders. Teams like Los Angeles and San Francisco show that bottoming out to rebuild from the ground up can pay off big time, but also is not the only strategy. Tanking for elite draft talent, stockpiling assets, and making aggressive trades to build a superteam gives you a real shot at the Cup, even if it means enduring some rough seasons first. But, once that peak fades, it’s hard to stay competitive without another reset.

On the other hand, consistent playoff teams like New England or Philadelphia are proof that maintaining a competitive core can create a culture of success. These teams might not always win it all, but they’re always in the mix, which keeps their fanbase engaged and their locker room motivated. However, this approach can sometimes leave them in the dreaded "good but not great" zone, unable to truly contend or rebuild (New Orleans Saints).

Can you do both? In theory, yes. Smart drafting, great cap management, and a bit of luck could let a team balance retools with occasional cup peaks. But in practice, committing to one strategy often is the best way to find success.

10. ) In this league, Tanking doesn't really work. You have to be a great GM who knows how to build a team and knows when to trade vs draft. With each class having 5-10 great max earners, you really can't go wrong by selling for 2 seasons then being back at the top if you do it right. I personally think every team should try to do what the great GMs do, move small parts and build a core every 4-5 seasons so that as players age out, new players take the place. I personally look forward to the day @luke replaces me with a younger better faster strong me, because that means I did my job for 10 seasons. it is weird to think that way, but it is a great way to build a team, stay in the top 5, and always have a shot at the cup by the end! 12: This is the year Czechia breaks out and really makes a big cup run. It is the first time in my history with the team that I get to have a 1000k TPE team, and I am looking forward to having this growing team really show the rest of the world what we are about. It might be the last big run for the S60 players as well, as we are getting younger and faster they are getting closer to retirement. I really hope we can get them the cup they deserve, And I hope I have done enough as a Federation head to get them there. I hope my player can be a solid presence in front of our net, and give our Goalies the best chance possible at stopping the puck. I hope we can go above and behond what others think of us and really push hard for some hardware. (154) +3

Looks like [TEAM] won Season 79 Challenge Cup! So who won and why? What could the other team have done differently to change the result? What was your favorite part of the series?
First I want to say a big congratulations to the San Francisco Pride on winning the Season Seventy Nine Challenge Cup! I think the San Francisco Pride won the Season Seventy Nine Challenge Cup because they an absolutely dominant offense scoring a ton of goals throughout their series with the Philadelphia Forge and even put up fourteen goals in one game. Some stand out players in the Season Seventy Nine Challenge Cup finals has to be: Webb with 15 G, 19 A, 34 P, +16, 28 GA, 11 TA, 15 blocks, 36 hits and then another Pride top player was Winters with 17 G, 18 A, 35 P, +15, 14 TA, 9 GA, 15 blocks, 21 hits and then on the Philadelphia Forge side of thing their top player in my opinion were O'Beirne: 3 G, 12 A, 15 P, +15, 15 TA, 2 GA, 60 blocks, 11 hits and their goaltender Time who put up some solid numbers throughout the playoffs which included 16-4-1, 2.76 GAA, 4 SO, .911 sv%, 15.19 GSAA. I think the moment that stood out to me and was my favorite part of the series was the Pride’s fourteen to zero win. I honestly thought the series would go a bit longer.
