(+3 TPE) 8. The only all star from the Nevada Battleborn this season was defensemen Arvinder Singh, which is an impressive start to the rookie's career. Despite Nevada rebuilding and finishing in the bottom 5 in the standings, Singh was still able to hang close to some of the league leaders among defenseman, despite also being down a few hundred TPE on some of them. He had the 17th most points from the blue line this season, and tied for 14th in assists, which is a strong feat when NBB scored the 3rd least among of goals this season, with 4 teams scoring 99+ more goals than them. A large portion of his scoring came from quarterbacking pp1, where he was tied for 7th in ppPoints. Even more impressive is he racked up 154 hits, which was good for 3rd among defenseman, as well as the 20th most takeaways, showing that he has already established himself as a strong 2 way defenseman, with 3 more years of eligibility to grow. Despite being a rookie at the all star game, the team expects to see Singh not playing scared, and to join the rush and throw the body around like he did all season, and prove that he can hang with the league's best. (210 words, +4 TPE) 13. There are 3 different candidates alone for the Anrikkanen Trophy on NBB. Mick Geno, Dre McIntyre, and Arvinder Singh could all realistically be nominated. I already talked about Singh, but Geno and McIntrye both were nearly ppg on one of the lowest scoring teams in the league. Hurts and Singh were also #1 and #3 among Dmen in hits, and both top 20 for takeaways, but likely lack the blocks and possession stats to be nominated for the Metzler. Overall I suspect maybe 2 nominations total for rookie of the year - I would like to see Singh and one of the forwards - but no other nominations for NBB. Milestones - 3 TPE Prompt 10 - 2 TPE - 114 Words - I don't think that Cadmael did too well this season and frankly he did no where near as good as last season. If last season wasn't even good enough to be nominated then I'm afraid that he was nowhere close to being in all star game. So instead I voted for some other Colorado Raptors who did make the list! If not Cadmael, then at a raptor at the very least. I expect them to be dominating the All-Star rosters from here on for the foreseeable future. I loved playing for the Raptors and they were a very helpful team to be with, I'm glad to have gotten the chance to play with them! 8 TPE

Shadow Fenix is Seattle's lone rep in the All Star Game this season, and while I could argue there are many Argos deserving of the honor as well, I can guarantee you that no one in our locker room would argue that Shadow is one of the most deserving guys on the squad. I mean, just to get it out of the way, Shadow lead our entire team with 79 points, and was just a goal shy of putting up 40 goals and 40 assists -- clean, sexy round numbers that you love to see out of your top center. On the ice Shadow is a force to be reckoned with, and good inspiration for a rookie center such as myself. In the locker room he's a constant presence, always chipping in on the latest conversation, chatting about games around the league and just generally setting a good tone for the rest of us on the team. He's a great dude to play with. 217 words, +4 TPE +8 TPE total

I think it is honestly no question that Slothface should have been a unanamous first ballot entry, but his lack of being in the hall at all I think is a period of the times. He played through the change over from STHS, where seasons were shorter and points were much, much harder to come by. Still, he was one of the few players ever to top 350 goals, and much of that came before the sim change, and then about half of the production came after the game change. I'd say that if you are being conservative he played 9 seasons at 50 games, that's an extra 144 games, i think it's a no brainer that games alone gives him an extra 46 goals which gives him 400, still a total to this day that is very hard to tough. Now if you look at his scoring and see most seasons he's hovering between 20-30 goals. If his full career were played in today's league I think it is an easy no brainier that production would change at least by a factor of 2. I understand how high that is and I'm trying to keep an average, as obviously he isn't scoring 40 goals his rookie season, but he is also scoring 60+ for a good chunk of his prime where he scored mid 30's, and probably hits the 40 mark a good chunk of time. Keeping in mind the shift away from sths would be a base increase. I think it is fair to say this would be equivalent to a 750 goal career in the current league and someone that prolific not making it into the hall at all is just bananas. I don't think the committee is able to properly appreciate achievements from before the sim swap and a lot of folks are going to be left off who should be there. 318 Words, 4 TPE TPE scale reminder: 50-99 words, 1 TPE 100-149 words, 2 TPE 150-199 words, 3 TPE 200+ words, 4 TPE ISFL PT Claim 3 TPE 10/8 TPE = 8 TPE

3. The conventional answer is to pair the teammates up, they know each other, they work well together, yadda yadda. However, pairing the rivals up is A. much funnier and B. maybe because they are rivals it will push the players in each of the pairs to play better trying to one up the other defenseman. 55 words, +1 TPE, 4/8 Total 5. There is objectively one correct answer when asked "What does one do in the Twin Cities?" and that is immediately go to the Mall of America, specifically one must head to the store known as LEGOLAND. Look, I do not make the rules but if you are in the area and do not visit this store what are you doing? If LEGOLAND does not appeal to them, there is literally the rest of the mall they can go explore and are bound to find at least one store that would be interesting to shop in, let alone all of the window shopping that can be done. 106 words, +2 TPE, 6/8 Total 6. Jauhnne Hawky would start drafting, not in the sport sense but as in Magic The Gathering booster drafts. He would not be the best at it, instead of focusing on good things like efficient removal and answers to common threats Jauhnne would be an absolute Timmy, a player who likes big stompy creatures at the cost of everything else. He would also probably get into casual commander games, playing either a big stompy dinosaur deck or a group hug deck. Despite having the money to do so he would not really be into standard or chasing meta decks/combos, all he wants is to play his big ol' dinosaurs. - 109 Words, +2 TPE, 8/8 Total

2 TPE Tell me about your teammate who made the all star game! Who are they, why were they an obvious choice to make the All Star roster, and what do you expect from them this ASG? So amped to see Max Carnage representing Tampa Bay at the upcoming All star game. He has been a huge part of our team and puts up awesome number on ice. Not only that but off ice and in the locker room is a 10/10 person. He is a great person to be around and always supports his team mates. He serves as a great representative for the team and always handles the media at events like the all star game with ease and keeps everyone in stitches. While it would have been great to have some more Tampa Bay players at the all star game this season wasn't our best despite doing fairly well in the regular season. Hopefully next year is going to be out year for continued success and dsrr I even pose the idea of having yet another deep play off run? I guess we will just have to wait for the season to start to find out! 163 words 3 TPE 11. Written, 50 to 200+ words. Thinking Out Of The Box All-Star games are usually hosted by SHL or SMJHL team but what if it wasn’t so? If you would like to grow the game on new market having an exhibition game with all the best players in the leagues could be good kickstart, or maybe it could revitalize an old market that might have had their team moved in the past? If you were to hold games outside of current teams, where you would take the games and why? While traditionally the All star game has resided with either an SHL team or an SMJHL team I think there are a couple options available if the All star game were to move around. After the recent controversy over the acceptance of Quebec as a recognized nation in the IIHF I think to determine the viability of the self declared Moon nation is to be recognized then an exhibition game should be played there to promote their new facilities and showcase their program. I'd also like to see some representation from more Asian nations would benefit not only the SHL's reputation and exposure. Pyeongchang with it's recent Olympics has the facilities for events and Beijing also has shown they can easily handle a larger event if they were looking to do so. I think there more that could be added to this list but they pose a couple great places that would work well for everyone. 156 words 3/3 TPE Total 8/8 TPE

9. Balancing It Out 3 TPE (160 words)
There is no doubt the top talent is in the West mainly because of San Francisco and Los Angeles. Let's go position by position to give us a better picture. Between the pipes, it's pretty even but I'd give the advantage to team West. Brzeczyszczykiewicz, Time and Montagne pretty much all have the same accolade and experience but this will be the first appearance for Toronto netminder Denebor Milasch. Who knows how he reacts, definitely an x factor for team East. On defense, East only had 3 candidates against 5 for West. And the final votes being a popularity contest, I don't like these odds for the Eastern Conference to have a better d-core. After a quick review, it just happens there was 5 representatives but they were mixed with forwards, my bad. On offense, I actually think the better talent is on the East side. It's clearly the everyone has to have a representative that hurts the West team. 12. If It Was Up To Me 3 TPE (161 words) I would be a really poor choice to be on the HoF committee. I'm not really into comparing stats between players or their number of awards. I'm more about name recognition and narratives. Like I don't think there should be a 1st year eligible Hall of Fame almost every class, I don't think these should be extremely rare and going to legends of the game like Visser or Garbanzo. I'm just using the most recent class and no disrespect to Angus McFife XVIII. Should he be a Hall of Famer? 100% 1st year? No way in my opinion. It feels crazy to me that it was Samuel Michaud last chance to get in and he didn't, I would have these two having around the same impact. Samuel was a key part of that Hamilton dynasty, was a top choice for fantasy hockey a long time and is a name I'm sure everyone remembers that was part of the league back then. 13. I Have Your Back 2 TPE (111 words) Bias aside I honestly believe Jesus Murphy should be nominated for the Bojo Biscuit Award that goes to the best defensive defenseman of the year. He was the only player on this Seattle Argonauts squad that finished with a positive +/- and by a long shot. Too often we see this award goes to a number 3-4 d-man on an elite team having a lot of block shots. It's supposed to reward the defensive side of the game and yet this trophy goes a lot to d-men having a 40+ points season. That's why the 4 goals and 21 assists worries me a bit for Murphy having a shot at winning it. |
