Please pick ONE prompt to write about. Do not mix and match prompts. Identify the prompt you are using in your submission - Copying and pasting the prompt will deduct from your word count so if you do this make sure YOUR submission is 150+ words excluding the prompt.

Written Option 1: New season is almost here but before that it is time for the training camp. And so it happens that the coach of the team has been watching survivor all summer long and sends them to north american wilderness to compete versus each other as part of two tribes.

Tasks are varied and winning team gets to vote one of their players to be sent back to civilization, to train with modern equipment and to sleep in warm beds, until only one is left. How well does your player do in this competition, what kind of tasks they would excel in and where they would struggle? Who they would like to get teamed with and what kind of roles they would take while camping outside of competitions? Would your player try to get out as fast as possible or would they want to take in the experience as long as they can?

Graphic Option 1: Create an image that shows your player taking part in any kind of task/competition in middle of the wilderness.

Written Option 2: Only the strong will survive! Or do they? How important part does physical or mental strength training play in your players offseason and how they do it? Are they focusing mostly on lower body strength or do they take more balanced approach? Or is it all about the core strength that helps them stay in right position at the goal? Maybe they think that surviving is really more dependent on mental strength and finding it inside themselves, but is there even a way to train that?

Graphic Option 2: Create an image that shows your player in middle of strength training.

Written Option 1: This has to be the worst training camp Alexa has ever had. And of course it was the first action of the new GM (which, this does sound like something @"Gyro_Hero" might do). Being taken out into the Canadian wilderness, split into two teams (chartreuse and gamboge, really? Were those even real colors?) and forced to do all kinds of 'training challenges' very nearly drove her to consider requesting a trade. Or maybe even retiring right then and there. Being forced to figure out how to pitch a tent with no actual tents provided had nearly broken her, until a teammate (on team chartreuse, not on the Blizzards) had the bright idea of taking over the busses. After that, it had all blended together for her; insane challenges like climbing trees to grab immunity idols, or jumping across poles over a river, or whatever other weird thing the new coaches could come up with, leading each day to someone being 'sent home', aka getting to go a few miles down the road to stay at a hotel... Alexa almost threw and lost on purpose. Almost. But the competitor in her wouldn't let her, and so she stuck it out, worked her hardest, even politicked a little bit, in order to win it all... and instead of two weeks in a nice lodge, she won a pair of socks.

Written Option 2:
Despite not having much to work with, Noah Smith takes his lower body training very seriously. For most of the off-season you'll see him doing workouts similar to that of strikers from football, using resistance bands and all of the sorts, making it so his balance and lower body strength is where it needs to be. Another way he works his strength out is in the mental world, as settling down has been hard for him due to the coldness of Winnipeg and Quebec, so he visits his family in Australia every chance possible. Now granted, he'd love to bring them with him, but he's the only capybara with permission to ride normally on planes. Either way, Noah takes all of his strength building very seriously, not straying away from it at any time. Not even for any invitations to events he may get an invite too, which would only take away valuable time.

Task 1:

William Salming is a big fan of the TV show called Survivor. He has watched almost all seasons and likes to guess all the time after first episode who are going to be in the top 5 in the end. That's why he would for sure survive very well in a Survivor game among his own team. He loves also grinding his way from bottom to the top so for Salming the role would be to stay in the game as long as possible and let weaker team mates to be voted out to train with modern equipment. As a veteran player with lots of experience, staying in a forest would not be so big problem for Salming than some new youngsters in the organisation. Salming would likely make an union with his Finnish team mate Jani Mänty. They would do a handshake deal to never vote each other and go to the end together. They would be heroes of the team when sacrificing themselves so others could get modern benefits earlier. That would be the story of Hamilton Steelhawks Survivor show.

I think my players dedication to the competition depends on the reward available at the end of the event. If this is a situation where he would be losing lots of muscle mass and weight - he would be trying to get out of there as soon as possible to not impact his off season training for next seasons preparation. If it was modeled in a way that they would still maintain their muscle mass and weight for some weird reason he would likely go all in to win it for bragging rights. Mikkel has seen enough survivor man + bear grylls TV shows to have the basic understanding of what is needed and in what order. 1st goal would be to locate the working class men on the island to team up with for bulding shelters more advanced and push out anyone who has no idea how to start a fire immediately. With Mikkel natural athletic ability he would crush any physical challenges mixed with his McGill University education he earned as he played his rookie seasons with (They were losing so much anyways first 3 seasons he could spare the time for advanced education) would destroy and puzzles given.

Option 2:

While everyone remembers the Herb Brooks line from the movie Miracle “The legs feed the wolf, gentlemen”, Marek Carda has another belief. Carda pays extra special attention to his core strength. In a league with so many 6’9” monstrosities, its imperative that Marek have a strong core and hardy center of gravity to be able to compete physically and keep his balance, win puck battles, and have the stamina to go 60+ minutes every night. While in the offseason he does focus a lot on lower body strength, core muscles receive the most attention. It has been written in the past that Marek does enjoy a lot of gym time and a bit of a break from the ice in the offseason (outside of international obligations) but for him it goes 1) Core 2) Legs 3) shoulders/chest 4) everything else. He makes sure not to overtrain the upper body outside of shooting because he wants to keep fast-twitch muscles, hand-eye coordination, and overall stick skills at the right level, without creating an imbalance. Just a word for mental strength – Carda is entering the prime of his career and after a trip to the finals is in a pretty good headspace. While he does some meditation every day, it’s not a primary focus at this time compared to physicals.

Written Option 1: Wow, can you believe it, my favorite off season past times of camping and fishing and coach has turned it into our training camp thinking it would be a team builder because we all want to work hard and quick to get out of here and back to our cushy hockey life in Quebec.  Well, I will show my team mates how it is done and make sure I am the last one they vote to send back to work hard in the lap of "civilization".  I am good at every survival skill having practiced it every off season and this was no different.  So, when we have to catch fish and make a dinner for 10, we got this.  Have to chop and stack 6 logs, we got this.  Ah man this is the life and I wouldn't start the season in defense of our cup any other way.

Thanks coach for the unexpectedly long off season for me.

Depending on the location, Ju-gong would have a decent chance at out competing most of his teammates in a season of survivor. For example, on a deserted island he would excel coming from a home in a hot and humid beach city compared to many of his cold weather teammates. However, the North American wilderness is certainly not the area he would thrive in, and more than likely is going to be learning from others. Against an apex predator like Deth Claw, there really is almost no hope of coming out on top when they themselves could easily hunt and gain influence off their ability to lead and provide for others. With all of that in mind, in this season Ju-gong would probably look to be outed as quickly as possible to get to go back home with his family and train in peace. The best method for this is likely to simply lay down in camp and bomb whatever the first trial is due to lack of energy.

“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. ... There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.”

Option 2.

Will Nuck likes to think of himself as a strong hard to move object who is equally as hard to move from his place on the ice. In order to maintain his space and also move other players along like hes playing shuffle board, Will must spend many hours in the gym working on his strength and conditioning. To be able to play this hard nosed style of puck and stay in the trenches for a full season and then the subsequent playoffs, its important to not only work on his upper body but also his lower body as well. You need that lower body strength to just hold your ground and be a stable object out there and it dose not hurt in the speed and endurance department either. Now having a strong upper body is also a major plus when it comes to helping that lower half out moving people in and out of lanes.
