The quarter finals have passed with only one unexpected result. It was a high scoring affair in the quarters as we say an average of 7.25 goals per game.

Starting with our game to watch, we saw Switzerland

win 3-2 over Norway Norway

. This low scoring game went nearly 2 periods without a goal before Norway Norway

put one in the back of the net with 6 seconds left in the second period to enter the third up one. It didn't take Switzerland

long to come back as they scoring in the first minute of the second. That was the first of three unanswered goals which was enough to win it 3-1. The Norwegian Norway

goalie, Ally Mathieson @hannahg32 , does deserve a shoutout as they did all they could stopping 47/50 shots.

In our next game, we saw Canada Canada

taking on France France

. Although the scoreboard looks lopsided, this game was back and forth through 40 minutes of play. Up by a goal at the start of the third, Canada Canada

scored another quicly to go up 4. Two empty net goals for Canada Canada

put the game out of reach. Dan Johnson @Figgy Canada

had an outstanding game scoring Canada's Canada

first and fourth goal and assisting on the sixth goal.

On the other side of the bracket, we had Latvia Latvia

taking on Ireland Ireland

. Latvia

managed to walk away with only playing 25 minutes of difficult hockey. The Irish Ireland

must have been out last night because they were exhausted after 5 minutes of the second period. Four goals in the second period, three of which were unanswered meant Latvia Latvia

was gliding their way into the semi-final. Demir Bellona @Kalakar Latvia

had a great game opening the scoring for Latvia Latvia

, scoring the game tying goal and assisting on the sixth goal.

Last but not least, we saw Czechia Czechia

playing Great Britain

. This game required OT to determine who would advance. Great Britain

went up 2-0 before allowing Czechia Czechia

back in it with two goals in 4 minutes. A pair of back and fourth goals meant it was 3-3 after 60. It didn't take long for a superstar to emerge in OT as Dominik Winters @39alaska39 Czechia

sent his team to the semis.

In tomorrow's action we see the top two teams in Group A play for the chance at gold while the first and third teams from Group B will battle it out.
