Well clearely the first thing Nathaniel does after learning about his team's survivor trip is hire ex special forces to go over some of the basic survival things. Essentials such as build a shelter, make fire, fishing and trapping. With these skills in hand, the challanges which will all be either physical or mental are going to be a lot easier to take on without as much of the fatigue that the others are experiencing. If he can even build up his own little stockpile after the merge he will be able to trade things for favors - maybe a nice fish dinner? As far as team up goes it's the same as it always is, Kale. They can fight, and bicker and come out alright which is important when strained. They can push each other to be better, and go for the finals. And if we want extra good tv, put these two on opposing teams and watch the backstabbing and backroom deals commence.

Aging in the professional sports world is a horrific curse and blight on us athletes. Skating tends to be the first thing that goes, on account of speed and natural athleticism dipping. Personally, rather than fight it, I accept it and focus on maintaining my brain and IQ. If I can read plays at a high enough level, I should probably be able to avoid having to skate too hard to get into position. As long as I find myself in a sound spot and stay a step ahead mentally, I can make up for any physical deficit. That said, I also try to stay strong so that I'm able to bully those would be screeners out of the crease. I don't need a little rookie forward coming in and pushing me around. The day that comes I'll hang them up. So I'm focused on hitting the weights and studying the tape. Lower body and explosiveness is in free fall which is fine. Maintaining a killer mentality and constantly training your brain to become smarter to make up for physical shortcomings will have to be the way to go as I approach a world of being one of the oldest players in the league. Again, that and lifting weights so I can cross-check rookies near the crease.

Petr is getting up there in years, and as such the reparative surgeries are beginning to struggle to keep up. Petr used to be send every day training to be better, and it worked, blossoming his career into a resume of consistency and delivering reliable performances. To counteract this constant physical demand, he would take up all manner of physical therapies, such as those aforementioned reparative surgeries to replace tissue like changing car parts. Transplants, replacements, you name it. Whatever keeps Petr in the fight, he would undertake, the government would fun and plan. He is a government asset, after all. Petr was always more man than machine, but now the metal in his body says this in more ways than one. He might as well be the first genuine cyborg. Mentally, there is not a crack in that headspace. The only thing that troubles Petr, is the repeated chase towards gold, however Petr holds firm that the promised, destined gold will eventually come.

Graphic option 1: the task in question is simply "if you can dodge a cat, you can dodge a dman", which Viktor failed horribly because he'd be trying to catch them all.

While Twinkle Toes has the upmost confidence in their outdoor skills and survival skills, the rest of the contestants do not. They have good reason. On the first day Toes was tasked with starting the team fire while everyone else hunted, gathered and built shelter. Not only was he unable to start a fire but managed to take sticks that the shelter team was using and arrowheads from the hunting team after he proudly claimed they were flint. It was decided among everyone else that night after Twinkle went to bed that he would be the first to be sent home. Toes did his best in the competition but somehow managed to do so poorly on his part of the relay that the large lead that the team had built disappeared. Thankfully the team anchor set a personal best and Toes' team barely won and quickly, almost too quickly, sent him home. Toes' was so proud of his team to take on the remaining of the challenge without him. Their dedication to taking the hard road made Toes train even harder once he returned.
