After a shift of sustained pressure deep in overtime, the Citadelles force a faceoff in the Armada zone. A wholesale change, the Armada line up for the face-off: Abbe Wass and Barcus Juneau set up on D; Nicky Corrigan and Mac Z on the wings; cold-blooded rookie Reg Kirkby settles in to take the draw.
Fighting the player and ignoring the puck, Kirkby kicks the puck back to Wass. Wass takes a quick scoot behind the net and sees his team breaking for the neutral zone. With the forwards covered competently by the Citadelles, Wass sees Juneau accelerating just behind the play and makes a clean cross-ice pass. Juneau gets on his horse. Zooming up the ice, Juneau blows past the forwards of both teams and penetrates deep into the Quebec zone. Weaving around the opposing D, Juneau takes the outside route and parks behind the net. Seeing Mac Z coast into the high slot, Juneau makes a perfect setup pass. Mac Z rips a laser ... just over the crossbar where Juneau is standing admiring his pass. The puck caroms off Juneau's helmet back towards goalie Ela Solberg, whose backward motion bounces the puck straight into the net. The weirdest overtime game-winner you'll ever see, it's a true Xmas miracle.

Written Option 1:: T’was the game before Christmas and all through the league, your rivals are pushing you into OT. You see on the scoreboard, that tie you abhor - in spite of your efforts, it’s locked, 4 to 4. Are you naughty and cruel, or angelic and kind, does your player save the day, or is your team left behind? Share now with us all this story, this dream, when Christmas glory was lost, or claimed for your team.
Chicago had a rough start to the season before finally starting to win some games so going into Christmas they thought they were starting to finally turn in the right direction but then another losing slide came as if time itself turned back and they lost more then expected. So the when the final game before the break came around they knew this one was a must win for the mental of the team going into the next part of the season. It started off bad slipping into a 3-1 to them in the 1st before catching up a bit 4-3 in the second. It was a mid 3rd heroics by Sad Ketchup to tie it up and we hold on to overtime. It is there that we battle back and forth. Alexandros pushed and pushed and pushed but it didn’t seem to matter what he did he could not get the puck to go in the net or find the breakout pass to his team to get the win. As he huffed and puffed and got off the ice after a long shift hope appeared. Dave Heinrich on a stretch pass from Ho Lee-Smokes managed to deke around the defense and put it in the back of the net. The collective sigh of relief on the Chicago bench was palpable. Alexandros was bitter he couldn’t make the impact to close this one out but he is happy to see his team succeed. -243 words

Option 2: The team Christmas party is a great opportunity to get to know each other better and a good way to do that is to meet each other’s family. Since the players already spent a lot of time with each other with all the traveling, they do during the season to go play games away from home, the team Christmas party is the perfect opportunity to add more people to the mix. It is why Nor told everyone that their significant other, their children and their parents were all invited to the team Christmas party if they could make it. For the party, a section would be set for kids to play with, and a Christmas buffet would be served around dinner time, but other than that, nothing specific was planned, since the main goal is to give people a lot of free time so they can get to know the people at the party better by simply speaking to one another.

SHL GM SHL GM Code: Written Option 2: Your player is put in charge of helping plan the team Christmas party! What sort of games do they plan? What food and drink does your player decide to bring for the party? How does the party go with their teammates? Does anyone do anything wild at the party? If so, who? What happened to lead up to that event? I absolutely love a good Christmas party, or a good party in general. I also am a HUGE fan of games, so this party would be full of them. Before I get to the games though, let’s get to the most important part of any party…the food and drinks. My drink of choice is always Jack and Coke, so those would be flowing. I also love a good craft beer, so there would be lots of good Hazy IPAs around. As far as food goes, with a big party I have always found it is hard to find people who don’t like Italian food. There would be pizza, pasta, chicken parm, and so much more. Ok, now on to the games…there would be cornhole, beer pong and all the standard yard games. We could move them indoors if the weather requires it. Another fun game is Christmas Jeopardy, something that I played at a Christmas party today and was a huge hit. We could also do card games like poker and black jack, might not be Christmasy, but it is always a good time! ________________ 184 words ________________

The last game the Seattle Argonauts played before the Christmas break was an away game against the Calgary Dragons. The Argos had been on a roll winning eight of their last nine games and were looking to take down their divisional foes. The Argos had the lead with just about a minute to play, and the coach tapped AT-AT on the shoulder. "Get out there and shut em down!" So AT-AT went out and when he saw the other team pulled the goalie, he was very excited to maybe have a chance to score. But instead, he made a big blunder and watched his attempt bounce off a Calgary player and ricochet right onto someone's stick in front and Calgary scored to tie the game. He felt super bad and expected to be benched, but then the overtime was taking it's toll on the star players and once again with a minute to go, AT-AT found himself back on the ice. All he had to do was shut the other guys down for one more minute. But instead he decided he was going to be naughty, and took a penalty. Giving the Dragons a power play opportunity in the last minute of extra time. Luckily his team was able to bail him out, and the Argos went on to win in a shootout. But AT-AT did not have a lot to be joyous about - he was a minus two on the day and his penalty in overtime almost cost the team the game. He probably shouldn't be surprised to get a lump of coal in his Xmas stocking! S76 SMJHL DRAFT 3RD OVERALL PICK S77 SHL DRAFT 4TH OVERALL PICK IIHF TEAM NORWAY

Kristian Seppanen, the star first line right defenceman (often abbreviated as RD) and assistant captain (which means he’s apparently a leader in the locker room and wears an embroidered A on his hockey sweater during games) for the Atlanta Inferno frozen dihydrogen oxyde (otherwise known as ice) hockey team (not to be confused with other types of hockey such as ball hockey or field hockey) of the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference of the Simulation Hockey League, otherwise known as the SHL, wouldn't prioritize games for the team Christmas party - and none of Kristian Seppanen's teammates would put him in charge. Rather, Kristian Seppanen would focus on a massive feast for the team, ranging from charcuterie boards, jalapeño poppers, mozzarella and halloumi sticks, bacon-wrapped water chestnuts, some Finnish appetizers, and more. He would make the best punch on the planet, and leave alcohol on the side for those wishing to partake. He would further ensure that there's all kinds of sodas, juices, energy drinks, alcohol for those wishing to partake, protein shakes for those seeking the gains, and more.

My player? Definitely naughty. He's going to be taking as many liberties as possible, getting a few extra slashes in trying to get under the skin of the opposing players. He's going to be taking many shots straight to the body to make sure they don't get anywhere near the next. He (along with the other half of the best defensive pairing in the league) is going to be doing everything they can to set up chances for our more offensively inclined players.
It's going to go down like this. The game is tied 4-4 heading into OT, Vancouver walked into this game without a single pundit favouring them to win their game against Quebec City. But the hockey gods have smiled today, and the rookie defenseman known only as "No Cheddar" nabbed a goal just over halfway through the third to tie it up. Overtime was a hard fought battle, but no goals means a shootout will decided this one. Vancouver is salivating, a win against Quebec City would go a long way to keeping morale high throughout the locker room, and show the rookies that the team is a lot better than they think. The shootout starts, the tension in the air is thick, the Vancouver bench is ripe with anticipation as another win is a mere goal away. Vancouver loses 5-4 in the shootout. The crowd goes mild.

Option 1:
The playoff loss to Quebec City last season was still on Ima Noobie's mind as the buzzer sounded, ending regulation with the Berserkers and the Citadelles tied 4-4. As the team's took the ice for overtime and the puck went back-and-forth around the ice, Weston Windsor intercepted a pass and then sent the puck to Noobie. Noobie slid down the ice, guiding the puck towards the opposing goal as two defenders began to close in. Quickly, however, he flicked the puck bat to Jett Labyrinth who then shot it across the ice over to Jason Bourne. With one flick of the wrist, Bourne blasted the puck beyind the outreached glove of the QCC goalie and into the net. The horn went off and the Berserkers charged off the bench and onto the ice, mobbing Bourne as he made the game-winning goal. Noobie joined in, as his partial assist would get a tiny bit of credit in this important win. (159 words)

Deth Klaw is a pretty low key kind of person. While he has been known to tie one on from time to time, he generally prefers to get to bed at a decent time and wake up in a place he recognizes feeling at least somewhat refreshed. As a result, his idea of a Christmas Party is pretty low key. Of course there will be good food and some nice drinks, but not to excess. Perhaps a few fun card games like Cards Against Humanity. One thing he does really love is a nice White Elephant gift exchange. Its fun to see what kind of creativity folks come up with for a cheap present. You never know what you may end up with! For those that want to party, the main party ends at a reasonable time and those that want to can have a raging after party somewhere else for their own idea of a good time, but Klaw will be heading home to hit the sack. Volta will make a great Christmas party for the whole team! In fact, he will make sure to organized some activities such as: a board game area, a vr area (to play NHL SenseArena obviously) and a music area for a dj to perform. Who’s the DJ? Volta himself (oh yeah! Volta does some music). He will make sure to make a Christmas party matchup playlist. Then, there’s a big Christmas tree where there’s the Present exchange like every group party does. The party goes well since it’s well planified, the food is good because since a few people are allergic and Volta is allergic too, the food is a priority to keep all the players safe. Then, every player got some great presents since the gifts for the Exchange gift are always the best and now some cheap stuff that will break after a hockey shift lol! Then, the activities are very well, it varies a lot AND the music goes hard since the DJ is the best! Will Tomlander is a huge Christmas nut so of course he would go for an all out team Christmas party. He would have a massive Christmas tree that barely clears the ceiling - in fact it would even brush the ceiling - and lots of mulled wine and mead for drinks beyond the usual stuff. Lots of Christmas treats such as shortbread cookies, Christmas stollen stuffed full of marzipan, pfeffernuss (gingerbread) cookies, as well as a main course of turducken and ham. The music would also be overwhelmingly Christmas, with Mariah Carey being the main star as she is the Queen of Christmas Carol. And Tomlander would of course hire a Santa to come in to give presents to every one who attends the Christmas party in order to make sure that everyone goes home with something. Christmas after all is the most important holiday in the year. Of course, getting home safe is important so he would hire drivers dressed as reindeer to drive everyone who imbibed home.

Dionicio loves the spotlight. The bigger the pressure the more eyes are on you. When it’s crunchtime Dionicio isn’t playing around. Not afraid to use his speed or body, he’s going to make sure each inch of ice is a battle. With a great save by the opposing goalie, Dionicio is caught defending a 2-on-1 rush coming back. Taking away the passing lane all one can do is trust the goalie and get ready to go the other way. With a good save, Dionicio pounces on the puck and is going the other way now on a 3-on-2 rush. Enter the zone, pass it wide, and get ready for the tip. The puck is passed to the 3rd trailing player and blasted into the net. It’s a great save but the rebound is laying in the paint and in true Dionicio fashion, with no little for his own safety, Dionico dives towards the puck whacking away at it. In the chaotic mess of sticks, Dionicio gets solid contact and is immediately dogpiled by all the Qubec players. A memorable goal for sure, and an early Christmas present for all the fans. |
