This post is the beginning of a media i am currently working on, rating every single rook up until the 27th of december
these are the top 4 picks of the most recent draft Océane Söderberg-Tremblay, Defense: Oceane has been a very solid piece added to Yukons defense. OST has been averaging 22 minutes a night, which in the SMJHL is typically first pairing minutes in the Js. 18pts in 35 games isnt outstanding but is decent for a defenseman. A solid solid pick but just hasnt shown up in the way youd hope for a 1st overall Player Grade: B+ Pick Grade: C- River Yekaterina Volkova, Forward: River has frankly underperformed for being such a high pick, i think alot of this is attributed to seanys leadership, i mean the Whalers struggling in general. Just to be fair to River, im going to compare against other on the Whalers, currently tied for 2nd in goals at 10, aswell as 3rd in points at 24 , clearly river is a key piece, but is being a key piece on a meh team really something to be proud of? Player Grade: B- Pick Grade: D Dee Centerman IV, Jr., Forward: IVJR has started a little slow, however, to his credit, he is only getting 17:30 ATOI, which is on the lower end for this team, that has played well through 37 games. IVJR has contributed 21 pts across the entirity of the tidals season thus far. His build is clearly directed more defensively, with some decent playmaker ability in the puckhandling and passing categories, IVJR is built currently to help his linemates be more aggressive and find some points here and there, he also converts on a small % of his shots at only 6.7% but ill be generous here, and consider him as more of a defensive anchor than a point getter, especially at this point in his career Player Grade: B Pick Grade: C+ Claude L'Castor Goalie: Claude is the first name i personally recognize on this list, Beavie is wonderful to talk to, extremely active, has made some very enjoyable media to read, and i as a rule despise reading, im trying to be a welder for Christ sake, and yet its always a joy to see the gifs of claude wrestling, and the passion beavie has found for this league. Claude was not only the first goalie drafted this time around, but on top of that, this is a first time create. Clearly the Battleborn GM was very impressed by Beavie for Claude to go so high, and so far, id personally say this pick was a hit, Goalies in general are kind of a mystery in FHM, but atleast with someone so active you know youre getting the best odds. Claude has arguably been the better half of the tandem in Nevada aswell, with a 3.59 GAA, a recorded shutout, and a s% just below 900 at .894, which considering how high scoring alot of these Js games are, is an impressive stat in of itself, especially on a team riding the 500 line Player Grade: A Pick Grade: A
