One other winter sport that I enjoy playing is curling. Curling is a sport that I took up at a young age from my mother. My mom worked at the local curling arena which allowed me to spend a lot of time there. Either before it opened or after it closed. Now, I'll be honest curling is not a sport I enjoy watching. Watching it feels slow to me. But when you’re playing, the game moves quickly and is quite strategic.
Many people might say they enjoy skiing or snowboarding, but honestly, I was never good at either, which makes it hard to enjoy. That said, I do love a good GT Racer ride down the hill. Growing up it was one of my favorite things to do as a kid. In the winter I also play a lot of indoor sports such as pickleball or ball hockey to keep up my cardio and stamina over the Christmas break. All in all playing hockey doesn’t leave much time for other winter sports, so I’m glad I get to enjoy the few that I have time to play.

Solaire will have quite the time playing in the Winter Classic for the Winnipeg Aurora this season, especially since he has never really had to deal with these types of low temperatures nor dealing with the potential of such high winds and snow to also affect him while he skates on the ice. Many would think that he would have had to deal with some sort of weather like this, but truly, he has not, and while it's cold in the stadium while on the ice, its going to be so different while outside and dealing with the windchill and how to keep warm on the benches during his time on the bench, etc. So Solaire is going to have to make sure he listens to the vets and gets some good ideas on how to keep warm and keep it going while they play outside in this cold weather that is bound to hit during the Winter Classic.

Oliver Cornwall is a huge snowboarder. While he got a little in during family trips to Scotland as a lad, since playing in Vancouver in the J, he picked up the sport in earnest at the Whistler mountains. However, it was always purely recreational for Oliver so he absolutely did not train at it when he was a wee lad. However, Oliver is a pretty excellent athlete in general, so he picked it up very fast and is an excellent sight when he’s riding powder. He’s absolutely gotten to the point where he can get onto the British Olympic team and be a reasonable contender for the medal race. If he ever decided to try to be a pro, he’d be able to fully devote the time necessary to be truly exceptional. However, snowboarders don’t make nearly the money that hockey players do, so sheer capitalist demands make him choose to play hockey for a living!

Personally, I think the outdoor games are overhyped and over saturated at this point. You have teams who are trying to compete for a playoff spot playing on less than optimal ice conditions. On top of whatever weather they may need to endure. It makes no sense to put the athletes through such an event when that game could potentially have playoff implications. Even the thought of injury from the theatrics that come with the outdoor game. It is just a massive cash grab by the league. I think they were fun the first one to two times they did them. Now it feels like they have one every other day in January. Also some teams still haven't had the "opportunity" to play an outdoor game but there is multiple teams going on their third and forth game. That said, if Svatos was required to play in such an event. He would train the same way he always does. Vigorously, and mentally.

Playing outside is just something that brings us back to a vision of our youth. Stepping out onto a freshly frozen over pond is just an experience in itself. As you are hit with the smell of pine and spruce it takes you back to some of your earliest hockey memories. In regards to the playing of hockey games in outdoor venues like big baseball stadiums, it loses its charm. The only time where it would have any sort of value would be if it were actually snowing for the game as that is just a completely different level of nostalgia that can be potentially reached. Otherwise I think they are just a big cash grab, but makes complete sense. These outdoor venues are sometimes 5x the size of an indoor hockey arena. So the amount you can make on the game is quite large. Even though going to the arena is likely a better value for your buck and viewing experience.

Journey Man grew up moving country to country, and most of those were winter sports nations. So some hockey out on the frozen pond wasn't an uncommon occurrence for Journey during the more frigid months. Playing in a stadium outdoors will be an entirely different experience, however. Much like the first time stepping onto an iced-over lake, going into a custom made rink in a baseball or football arena is so amazingly unique. A ton of legwork goes into making such an event even possible, and it simply takes your breathe away getting to take to that ice yourself. Winter Classic's can certainly feel gimmicky, with them happening like clockwork every season, but to the local fans, it's a once in a lifetime experience and the same goes for the players and staff on the ice. Journey doesn't have a dream opponent, but maybe he'll start considering which teams are getting to play in the Winter Classic that season in choosing which team he signs with.

When Bongo first laced up his skates in the winter classic Atlanta vs Philadelphia simulation hockey league first outdoor game, it brought back memories of skating on frozen garbage juice at the dump. As you know, bongos father was a garbage man who frequently worked; he worked so much that he would never come home. So, when bongo got home from school he wanted to see his father. But there was only one place where his father felt at home and that is the dump. His dad would lovingly freeze all of the garbage juice on the flat portion of the garbage section of the dump and allow Bongo to skate on it. When bongo stepped on the ice for the national anthem, he welled up thinking about his dad and how he died due to a giant garbage fire. But then bongo put up a whopping 20 PIMs to help his team earn another turd Ferguson trophy.

Option 1:
Shadow Fenix did not play ice hockey growing up, so he did not play it outside either. He grew up on Aiur where the concept of hockey was not a thing. Nevertheless, since becoming a pro, he has practiced outside and played some exhibition games outside, but never an official game outside. For Fenix, he definitely sees the appeal. There’s nothing better than playing a good ol’ game outside with your friends, making sure you are having good fashioned fun in the sun. So for him, he is very excited about participating in the winter classic. He would want to play against the Atlanta Inferno because they are currently the top seed in the SHL, and Fenix always wants to play against the best teams, regardless of if it is in a stadium or not. He does hope that it snows during the event, and that that way the fans are extra cold.

I think that my player would have been interested in snowboarding if he decided to choose a different winter sport. He grew up watching Shaun White being a incredible athlete in the snowboarding scene. My player would not be a professional at snowboarding but he would spend a lot of time tumbling and making stupid mistakes as anyone learning a new sport would experience. Snowboarding should be something that my player enjoys during his time off for his own leisure. He actually tried speed skating as well but did not enjoy the sport as much as ice hockey because he enjoyed the teamwork that came with playing ice hockey. My player would do alright in other timelines if they picked another winter sport over hockey. When he picked up ice hockey as a kid, it just clicked for him immediately. He was born to be a hockey player and he has no doubts about his choice to play hockey professionally.

Thankfully Sonja did have the opportunity to play ice hockey outdoors as Fredrikstad -The city where Sonja was born and lived most of her life- has an outdoor stadium. Which stadium is precisely the place where Sonja got her chance as a youngster to play in a local youth cup back in the day. She has fond memories of it too so she is looking forward to the next chance she will get in one of those outdoor stadiums very soon. Of course it might look like a gimmick and might be another way to earn some extra cash but at the same time it's a nice change from the usual indoor stadiums. Outdoor stadiums can at least have some change in the scenery which of course is like the 10th most important thing in a hockey game but at least it's something. As for where the event will hold palce, well that's not exactly something Sonja is too worked up about. As long as she gets to play and somewhat relive her previous experience in an outdoor stadium than she is more than happy. After all she just wants to play for the love of the game. (198 words)

Gnabe would love to do many of the sports that take place in the winter. For this we are not going to include hoops because hoops sucks and we already know gnabe would dominate that sport and they would have no shot. Gnabe would like tk try biathalon and i think he would be good at at least half of the sport. Ya the cross country skiing blows, but having the leg strength of a hockey player might make him somewhat competitive here. There shooting is going tk be where gnabe shines. Part kf his strength here is going tk be the thay he practices all his shooting drunk, which is really like training g with heavy weights. Once they come off kn the course the game is over for everyone else. Other sports lile skeleton look cool, but there is no chance gnabe would be allowed to train for that sport with the daily alcohol consumed.

Option. 2 Zedward is a fan of mostly "summer" sports - basketball, soccer, tennis golf... But does have a soft spot for some winter sports. The winter Olympics is always exciting with some more unique and less common events like curling or bobsled, but there is one sport that Zedward actually does in his free time. Zedward grew up going skiing every so often with his family and always loved it. Hockey is great because you do get to skate very fast when you're good, but there's nothing quite like the adrenaline rush that Zedward found he got on a downhill ski slope. Zedward was never quite professional level, as in he never did events or competitive races, such as the slalom. However, Zedward does like to push himself when possible and complete black diamond paths whenever he has the opportunity. Admittedly, he doesn't get the chance often these days, but it's still his favorite non hockey winter event.
