Written Option 1: A movie studio decides to make a hockey movie but they are more focused on making money so people in charge of the movie and actors starring in it know nothing about hockey. It just so happens that your player is offered a role as hockey advisor for minimal compensation but they get to make a cameo at some point during the movie. What is the movie like, what kind of tone are they going for? How would your player like working there and how much would they get fixated on to things exactly right? And of course most importantly what kind of cameo does your player have in the movie?

The movie would be focused on a younger audience to try to get more into hockey as a sport. In the same vein as the mighty ducks but in this case, it will be a bit more of a serious take as it follows juniors for team Canada try to win the tournament against the other juniors of the world (unlike real life T.T). Of course, when it comes to the details of the games and hockey in general, I will not let any details slide. This will be a fully accurate tale and I don’t care if I cause delays on the movie to ensure its quality. If its being used to pull newcomers into hockey they need to see and experience what the game is truly like in the film. As for his cameo, there is no doubt as a grizzled mentor who gives the young players their final push of encouragement and passing of knowledge to get to the end win or lose.

For some reason there's a big Hollywood studio throwing money at making a Mat Smith biopic, even though he's still living and didn't have that interesting of a life. To do this, he was brought on as hockey advisor and actually got listened to more than most would think. He was able to convince the studio to hire Keanu Reeves to play him, as even though the actor looked nothing like the dog, he did play goalie when he was young and was able to do many of his own stunts. Many others Smith did himself when the camera didn't have to see his face. He also got the studio to hire some other celebrities with real-life hockey experience, like Avril Lavigne to play Quebec City Citadelles captain Jesper Maximov, Justin Bieber to play Quebec City Citadelles then Chicago Syndicate teammate Kev Kevens, Steve Carell to play Chicago Syndicate teammate and GM Corey Kennedy, and Michael Buble to play Chicago Syndicate teammate Ben Jammin. The talent is all over the place but it's shaping up to be an interesting movie.

Of course my player, Leonard Wood, would work as a hockey advisor to show these greedy Hollywood execs about the game of hockey. Obviously, they spend too much time making football and basketball movies to the extent that they forget all about the sport of hockey. But my player will educate them on the game and ensure they depict the game of hockey accurately. Beyond that, it is up to the writers and directors to make the movie worth watching. Wood is not a movie script writer, producer, or a director. He will stick to his role, get paid, and get back on the ice for the Philadelphia Forge. If the movie flops, which it surely will, Leonard can at least say the hockey parts looked okay. At the end of the day, he will just be credited as a mere technical advisor, almost like a coordinator or such. This will put the blame solely on the writers and director when the movie bombs at the box office.

Weston would be an odd pick for a movie, but if he did get selected, he would actually lean away from advising from having a lot of realism in the on-ice product. While that can make for a good movie, if you're having real hockey players make cameos, you're probably going for something a little less historical and a little more comical. With that in mind, he would argue that the thing you have to highlight the most is the chippiness and 'chirping' culture of hockey, as it's what sets it most apart from other sports to a mainstream American audience. As long as you get the basics past that, skating and shooting and the right kind of equipment (ideally old-style equipment, for a sort of hockey period piece), most viewers will accept it -- and if you get that feeling of hockey culture right, so will hockey fans.

Other than that, the main thing Weston would be trying to get right would be the locker room scenes: the part that fans don't get to see, but that easily resonates with anyone who's played even school sports before. With that in mind, he'd want his cameo to be as something akin to an assistant coach, team doctor, or otherwise: someone who can be present for those key scenes.

Anchor: The Detroit Falcons have become the Hollywood Falcons?? Our sports reporter has the story.

Reporter: You might have caught a few extra cameras filming the most recent Home Game for the Detroit Falcons because local filmmakers are filming a new action movie coming out next year, and the Detroit Falcons were happy to allow the filmmakers to use their rink and one of their players; Jeffrey Bjelland.

Bjelland: Yeah, I was hired by the great filmmaking team to be the Hockey Advisor as they wanted to get the action as close as possible to a regular game day experience on the ice. They said I could cameo, and I would have wanted to do anything else besides what I'm always doing. Skating on the Ice!

Reporter: Even fans in the stands were allowed to sign waivers to be caught on film to make a possible appearance in the film!

Anchor: You will be able to catch "Power Play" in theatres next summer.

Alright, so this movie studio’s making a hockey movie, but it’s clear they don’t know about the game. It’s got a big Hollywood budget, flashy effects, and some actor who thinks holding a hockey stick like a baseball bat looks “cool.” The tone? Oh, it’s all over the place—half comedy, half underdog story, with some ridiculous romance subplot that has little to do with hockey. They bring Blade Hunter in as the hockey advisor and he ain’t thrilled about the “minimal compensation,” but he loves the game too much to let them screw it up completely. Blade spends his time yelling at the actors to stop skating like they’re on rollerblades and explaining why you can’t score a goal by chucking the puck into the net with your hands. They roll their eyes, but Blade’s relentless. He’s fixated on getting the details right—proper faceoff techniques, realistic gameplay, even making sure the locker room scenes look like the real deal. In the end his contribution saves the movie and it comes out half decent, people find it funny enough, the underdog wins, and the romance ties in nicely at the end... all thanks to Blade... especially the romance part... and the hockey part too... but mostly the romance part... not to brag or anything... but he kinda knows a thing or two... or three... fine, four.

Written Option 2:

The season is coming to an end but some players still take every game as if it were their last. Normand Marineau is one of those players. He always gives his last ounce of sweat to his teammates and fans when he's on the ice. That's why what fans got to witness between the Colorado Raptors and the Detroit Falcons is something straight out of a movie. With the game tied 1-1 in the third period, Marineau is on the ice with only 5 minutes left. With the Falcons cycling the puck in the Raptor's defensive zone, a one-time shot from Falcons defenseman Twinkle Toes is blocked by Marineau's shin, causing him to fall in a heap of pain. Because the puck deflected off Marineau so hard, it traveled the length of the ice to Falcons' goalie John Gibson. As he tries to receive the puck, it slides right under his stick blade and goes into the net. Marineau was swiftly transported to the locker room and never got a chance to celebrate his goal.

Written Option 1: Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slava would make for an amazing movie advisor and would be a story about Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slavas own hockey career and the movie would end up being like a balance of a heart felt drama with moments of humor and would end up showing the multi faceted nature of Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slavas life both on and off the ice in Ukraine during the lead up to Russia's war in Ukraine and escaping war to play hockey in North America in the SHL. Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slavas would like to aim for a tone similar to sports classics like football movie The Blind Side, blending intense gameplay with a character driven narrative that explores themes of perseverance, teamwork, and the coming over age. The focus would be on the Slava Ukraini Heroyam Slavas journey from aspiring hockey hopeful to professional athlete, highlighting their unique approach to the sport and their relationships with teammates, fans and mentors.

The big wigs in Hollywood have decided to create a movie based on the last 10 years of life as a Vancouver Canucks hockey player. They have reached out to Will Nuck and asked for his help as an advisor and as payment they offered him a small role as one of the seldom seen teammates. Unfortunately they didn't do much fact finding prior to the script being wrote up and the director and other main staff members were unaware at just how bad the team was for the last.few years and have only had 1 decent season sense the Sedins retired. Regardless of the on ice results, Will was able to help the staff better understand the inner workings of the inside of a locker room, exactly what a bag skate is and how vital having a good starting goalie is. He was able to take this shitty B reel budget film and turn it into a shitty A reel film.
