It has been somewhat of another disastrous season in Edmonton, intentional or otherwise. With that being said, there weren't too many memorable highlights for Cajabi and his Blizzard counterparts. Perhaps more specifically for Cajabi though as he went through the dreaded "sophomore slump". Of course, there were a few games throughout the course of the season that Edmonton can hang their hats on and use as building blocks for next season. A 3-1 win against the Panthers and a modest 3-game win streak that saw them earn victories against Texas, Seattle and a shutout against the Toronto North Stars. For Cajabi, one of his finer moments of the season came during an all-Canadian clash against the Montreal Patriotes. Two teams that have battled it out near the bottom of the standings over the past few seasons but are trending the right way and could see themselves facing off for a league championship in the near future. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. In this particular game, the Blizzard spotted the Patriotes a 2-0 lead and as they have so many times throughout S80, found themselves fighting an uphill battle. Goals from Simon Science and Steve Harrington tied the game up, setting the stage for Cajabi's heroics. Winning a puck battle in their own zone late in the third, Bobby Tkachuky fired a laser precision pass right on to the tape of Cajabi who had read the play and started breaking out of the zone early. Using his speed to separate himself from his closest defender, he found himself on a breakaway against Montreal netminder Song Ju-Gong. A quick shake of his shoulders to get the goaltender moving the wrong way and a deke to his backhand allowed him to roof the puck into the yawning cage and get the Tony Pepperoni Dome shaking. The goal would hold up as the game winner and was embraced by his teammates after the final horn sounded. Sure, it might not be the kind of thing they'll make a movie about, but it was a true highlight of what Cajabi is capable of and will hopefully be able to bring more of to the table in S81. It will certainly be a highlight that gets played on the Jumbotron at Blizzard games for years to come and a reminder of the passion that Blizzard fans have for their team and a glimpse of what the energy will be like in Edmonton every night once Cajabi and his other superstar teammates hit their peak. Earlier today, Julian was approached by his agent with an offer. Warner Brothers wanted to do a remake of the old Face/Off movie, in which the antagonist actually planted the bomb in Madison Square Garden and had it set to detonate during game seven of the stanley cup finals. However, they needed an advsior on the hockey side, and since the Minnesota Monarchs had already been eliminated figured Julian may have a few weeks to help them out for a small fee.
First off, Julian had them change the script to include actual SHL teams, rather than the fictional NHL teams (whoever heard of the New York Rangers and Detroit Red Wings, lmao) they were trying to introduce. Using the Atlanta Inferno and Buffalo Stampede introduces more realism into the movie. Furthermore, Julian made them up the sliders for scoring and had every line sent out on the ice use the same tactics, to make it as realistic as possible. Julian gladly accepted the offer to make a cameo as the zamboni driver.

When Hip Hurts got a call that he was wanted as a hockey advisor for an upcoming movie, he was initially confused. He's one of the worst players on his team currently, and is pretty much only good at using his 6'6" body to block shots so he wondered what brought the film crew to him. But then he read the script and it made more sense, the movie was only peripherally about hockey, it mainly told the story of the illegal underground zamboni racing scene, like some sort of hockey fast and furious hybrid. It was a low budget local film, and Hurts' role was basically to be a familiar face since he's been serving as NBB captain for 3 seasons. Hurts has a cameo where he is accidentally ran over and killed by the main character during a race, causing him to spiral and quit his racing career. But then Hurts visits him as a ghost and explains how it was really somehow a sabotage by the main villain, which inspires the main character to race in the finals to defeat him once and for all. The Ottawa Highlanders just capped their season with a 10-1 win against the Nevada Battleborn and while Easton Schaffer had a five assist night, he was approached by a casting director to advise some actors on how to play hockey. He was interested in providing some direction, but he also asked the question: "Why don<t you get an SHL player, they're all pros?". He was then told the movie is about a young talent coming up through the juniors; the drama revolving around off-ice drama and a "not ideal" family home and an agent that was trying to siphon as much from the family. It's one of those feel-good, against-all-odds success stories about the young hockey player. Without going too much into the details, Schaffer understood the mandate and graciously accepted, even being offered a cameo in a few scenes as a player on a rival team. The movie's name has not been disclosed but has a working title. 168 words

The movie Sad Ketchup of the Chicago Syndicate would guest and or cameo in would be a Hallmark type movie that was about hockey. Sad Ketchup does like to watch these movies, and it would be one he would actually want to star in for little compensation. The movie would be about a woman falling in love with a hockey player unexpectedly. It would start with the woman going to a local charity hockey game with her friend, although she didn't really want to go, she then makes eye contact with a player, and from there the two see each other in town where things begin to start growing. Sad Ketchup would be in charge of the hockey scenes (there would be not too many scenes) but the brief scenes showing games, and Sad Ketchup would even be playing as a extra, a teammate of the love interest. Sad Ketchup would have a few lines, very few, but his scenes would be with the love interest talking, and/or in the background of the hockey scenes.

During the final game of the SHL regular season, the San Francisco Pride took on division rival Calgary in a tightly contested match that would set the tone for the upcoming playoffs. The Pride came off to a strong early start, but found themselves late in the 3rd period defending a 6-4 lead with all the momentum (and shots) going the way of the Dragons. They needed a strong, momentum-shifting play to turn the tide and secure a win, and it would be goaltender Justin Time who would deliver the key play. When the dynamic Solberg duo picked up the puck on a breakaway at the 5 minute mark, they rapidly passed back and forth, hoping to get Time off balance to set up a goal to put the game within one, and they'd nearly succeed. Time did lose his balance and committed to the attacker on the left (he could never tell them apart). When the pass came to the open forward, Time stumbled, cursing as he knew he was about to let in a key goal. Instead, he reached out with his stick, flailing helplessly, and managed to catch the puck, redirecting it into the crossbar and right back into his glove. The crowd went wild, and the team held onto their final regular season win.

Media Graders Senior Member Quote:Written Option 1: A movie studio decides to make a hockey movie but they are more focused on making money so people in charge of the movie and actors starring in it know nothing about hockey. It just so happens that your player is offered a role as hockey advisor for minimal compensation but they get to make a cameo at some point during the movie. What is the movie like, what kind of tone are they going for? How would your player like working there and how much would they get fixated on to things exactly right? And of course most importantly what kind of cameo does your player have in the movie? Fast & Furious 53: Revenge of the Zamboni coming to theaters near you this summer! Starring the one and only, McLovin. Taking place on the glaciers of Antarctica, the beloved crew of Paul Walker (digital cameo), Vin Diesel, The Rock, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese, Ja Rule, and many more famous people all shoved into one film that has nothing to do with street racing anymore nor does it have anything to do with hockey, but what does it matter. McLovin is on hand to save the day as the bad guys try to drive their zamboni over Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) but he instead is able to use his masterful puck skills to skate down the glacier with a hand grenade instead of a puck and chuck it right at the Zamboni, exploding it while busting up the glacier and saving Letty. Future cameos? Who knows, maybe for the film's 100th adaptation, but he saves the day, gets paid, and can claim to be a movie star? Accurate? Not at all. Realistic? Far from it. But Hollywood is Hollywood and McLovin is as Hollywood as it gets!

The movie is a British version of the Mighty Ducks loosely based on the second film, with a former player coaching a youth team and attempting to lead an English team to an unlikely international title. The kids are relatively unfamiliar with hockey due to the sport being relatively unpopular in the UK, but learn from coach Gordon about how to play. Jarrod Lakemore provides authenticity to the show by providing actual hockey drills and teaching the writers about proper hockey terms and tactics. As Lakemore himself is one of the most successful and well known hockey player in England, though of course he pales in comparison to any of the many soccer stars, his brief cameo features him offering advice to coach Gordon on the importance of responsible defensive play and how proper positioning and focus could overcome fancy stickwork and saucer passes, as the English team won't have players with the same skill level that teams from more traditional hockey countries have.

This movie would end up going the same direction that Super Troopers ended up going but for cop movies. I think that because all the actors on the set had absolutely no idea how to play or about hockey, I think Cadmael would just lean into it. No point in trying to train an entire cast of actors on the ins and outs of hockey just for people to nit pick the occasional slip up. Cadmael would probably just make one of those really stereotypical, bad, drama-esque sports movies but like, just a parody of it. If Cadmael is a bit more well known and has a bit more of a fanbase, perhaps then he could have a cameo appearance as maybe a spectator somewhere in the stands or one of the rival coaches. I wouldn't really expect this movie to perform well in the box office or anything like that but maybe in 15-20 years it becomes a cult classic hit.

In the second to last game of the Tampa Bay Barracuda’s season, defenseman RIP THUNDERDOME 2013-2023 had something incredible happen, something that will never be forgotten by him, his teammates, his fans, and anyone who follows the SHL in any manor, no matter how small. With just a few minutes left in a tie game, RIP THUNDERDOME scored one of the most unlikely and lucky goals to ever occur in a hockey game. The play started very normally, the Barracuda were cycling the puck around the boards, trying to break down the defenders and find an opening to shoot. Eventually, the puck worked its way up to the point, ending up on the stick of RIP THUNDERDOME. He loaded up a slapshot, which missed badly. The puck hit a stanchion and took a funny bounce, hitting FITTED PRIMETIME99 CUDDLES in the nuts, up into the air, then off of the back of the goalie’s head and into the net
