S80 PT #4: Last Action Hero Due: Sunday, January 12th @ 11:59 PM PST

The movie studio has looked at director Bichael May as inspiration for this hockey movie, it will have explosions, explosions, more explosions, and random aspect ratio changes. The tone is very dark at times with players losing their loved ones due to the Bichael May explosions. They look for a hero, a Hero dressed in gear ready to dish out some slap shots. Minty already knew there was no way in hell a Bichael May movie would give Hockey the respect it is due. So he just wanted to make the movie as fun as it could be, Minty told them about hockey and greatly exaggerated it. The writers have players throwing sticks, exploding pucks, and fire trails along the ice after someone has skated there. One writer even suggested a shark being under the ice and the ice breaking for the shark to eat a player! Minty did not know what he wanted his cameo to be, but he decided he would be...The Great One. Makeup crew did their best to create Mintzky but alas, it just looked odd, but Minty loved how odd it looked and being The Great One he would teach their main character how to be the best hockey player he could be....and save the world.

Celeste's entire thing is doing highlight reel hockey, and it's pretty hard to top something like a hat trick in the finals of the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League, but they're nothing if not committed to the bit. And most highlight reel goals are a combination of incredible skill and incredible luck, so all you can do is try your best. Celly's preferred thing to attempt is a rush down the boards, triple deke toward the center, and loft it bar down top cheddar to whatever the goalie's weak side is. This is only something that's going to hit one out of every like, 20 times, so it's pretty much down to luck and hoping the defenders go to the wrong spot and the goalie's reflexes aren't up to scratch that day. But on a successful attempt, you know Celly is hurling themselves airborne into the glass to celebrate a fantastic goal.

The movie will be an award winning film about a youth hockey team that are all misfits. They are out of shape and unathletic. Through the help of their coach, the work and work until the improve. They improve so much they believe they can play a real team. Their coach schedules the game vs a team that sounds their level. The team heads to the rink and get suited up. They then see the other team start pregame warmups. Oh my goodness, coach scheduled the Trashers. The most infamous goon team of all time. They have to play or else the team has to pay a fine. MattyJ makes a cameo as a main enforcer on the Trashers. Will they win? You will have to find out. Hint: they get destroyed and injured. This is a lighthearted film turned bad. It teaches lessons about perseverance, but also checking who you schedule for games.

Ubba Lodbrok, center and leading points getter for the Philadelphia Forge of the Simuation Hockey League, and former player for the Anchorage Armada of the Simulation Major Junior Hockey League, and current representative of the Finnish National Team, has been offered the opportunity to strike it big in Hollyweird. Sort of, that is. His advisor role gives him 5 minutes of screen time in the new upcoming Hockey movie, Top Cheddar. You see, this is a movie done by a Z-42 Studios, that is taking Ratatouille and Slap Shot and combining the two. Will this make money? They're sure hoping that this becomes an instant cult classic movie. What does Ubba Lodbrok get out of it and what does he bring to the table? Well, first and foremost, he gets his foot in the door for more Hollyweird opportunities, and a SAG card too. Secondly, he brings real life knowledge of hockey and rats to the table.

Lewis Holl gets the offer to make some extra cheddar by helping out a movie studio that has some pretty faces but not real hockey talent. The movie is a romcom based on the book Icebreakers which is a decently raunchy book in of itself. Of course the star lead of the movie is Ryan Gosling who is going to play the hockey star that falls in love with the figure skater. He doesn't really know anything about skating so this is where Holl comes into the picture. He teaches some real basic forward, backward, crossover, and stopping drills to get the actors warmed up to the idea of skating. With some editing magic it also does not look half bad! But for actual games played they actually just had Holl skate around and lay on some blockbuster hits for some scenes. In the editing room they just CGI his face to being Gosling's so that it all works out.

Having a brief role in a movie production would be an interesting change of pace for Ylib compared to the usual training and playing schedule of a regular SHL season. He would take his role as hockey advisor seriously to represent the game well, but without getting in the way of the creative vision of the director. The role would mainly consist of making sure the team gets little details about the game correct so that anyone who watches and knows about the game isn't questioning the authenticity of it all. He could even pull some strings for the production team to allow them to have some filming time in the Manhattan Rage rink and locker room to get a lot of real world footage to use in case they need it. Ylib's cameo in the movie would likely be a series of background shots where only eagle eyed viewers would notice that he was part of the plot all along. It would be cool if he was doing various different activities that somehow show themselves as relevant later in the plot and only those who watch a second time might recognize the actions as significant and then look at who was doing them and realize it was a star SHL player all along.

Yeah so the movie is called angel in the penalty box. It stars denis Leary Joe Pesci who plays goalie, Hugh jackman and Maya Rudolph.
Maya Rudolph is the teams owner and the team is last in the league in everything. Maya encourages the players, the other stars, to play dirty. I play the angel in the penalty box. Every time a player gets a penalty they come and sit in the box and i appear to them only. You see I was a hockey player and I died after getting kicked out of a game for trying to step on another players hand. I got hit by a bus crossing the street. Anyway when I appear to the players getting a penalty I give them tips on how they could have done better. Most of the players come around and start
Doing better except Denis Leary. He plays in a hockey league in his hometown and knows a lot about the sport. His whole career is being gritty and scrappy.
All in all the movie was funny with some good morals instilled. If it weren’t for Joe Pesci who plays the cursing goalie I think the movie could be rated pg!

There are very few plays that Dominik Winters hasn't managed to not accomplish in his time in the SHL so far including scoring multiple game winners in the Challenge Cup Finals, hat tricks, and more. Dominik did enjoy his variety of experiences in the league, getting drafted for example was a definitely highlight. Towards the end of the season, there are very few experiences that are as fun as walking through the entire team and scoring on a ridiculous coast to coast goal against your rivals. It didn't matter in the grand scheme of things, in terms of final position for standings, points, or keeping someone out of the playoffs, but it was a lot of fun to be able to get a cool goal like that. Scoring good goals is one of the things that every young player dreams of when they are growing up and playing at home and as a youth, and Dominik has been lucky enough to score a few in the nearly 250 goals he has scored in his career thus far.

Boogan McGillicuddy gets hired to help the movie studio suits make a believable movie and, lets face it, there is nothing worse than god awful sports scenes in movies, especially if you actually play or have real knowledge about the sport.  Boogan takes his role very seriously as a hockey consultant on the movie lot.

The movie is a mostly serious movie about a down on his luck drug and booze filled minor league player who is at the end of his career and wants one more shot at the big league.  It is like Mickey Rourke’s movie The Wrestler meets Slapshot.  Boogan is not much for putting on airs for big fancy Hollywood studio executive types but he does agree to have a cameo in the movie.  Noted St. Louis Scarecrows fan, Sydney Sweeney, plays the love interest of the grizzled veteran hockey player protagonist, played by Jason Statham.  Boogan plays a goon on Jason Statham’s rival team who, after pulverizing Statham on the ice, has a passionate and on-screen chemistry filled love making scene with Sweeney to usher in the third act.  Critics at Cannes weep and clap like seals for 15 minutes straight after the credits roll, heralding Boogan’s show stopping screen presence as the greatest piece of cinematic art they’ve ever seen.

What a shame. These people should be more dedicated to making accurate hockey films than just making money? Some people are just money grubbers, but whatever. NoNo Ho Is going to be the hockey advisor and he will make sure he does everything that he can to make sure that his cameo…. I mean the accuracy is top notch. He doesn’t even care about the compensation. Honestly it was an insult to think that he doesn't love hockey so much that he wouldn’t do anything for it. The movie is a rom-com of course because that is the best type of movie. NoNo Jo would love working on set especially with all the food tables set out and being replenished every hour. Consults gotta eat. NoNo would make sure things were 97.5% accurate… you have to allow for some movie magic! He is the side love interest and the hottest guy in the movie, hands down.

While most people would not really care too much as they would have a role, funnily enough, Solaire is quite excited to have a cameo in the movie. And of course, how could he not be the great, awesome, knightly man that he is, even if it is just a cameo in the movie he is helping teach those about the hockey to the director and actors. The movie is moreso about the comradery that a hockey team can have on and off the ice, and of course, Solaire would come in as a bench guy (cameo spot) and be the one who has the one great speech, get the team together, or break up whomever is fighting, just to make sure that the whole hockey team is actually a family and are not more than that. Solaire would make sure that everyone is there for one another and love everyone as a family.

Aksel had a few game winning goals this season, not his highest, he's getting old and can't always keep up with the speediest guys on the ice, but he had a really good one. It was a hail mary, fired into a mass of bodies in front of the net. He'd figured it would get blocked and one of his linemates could try and snatch up the rebound, but against all odds, it had gone in. He'd watched the replay on the jumbotron, stunned. The puck curved just perfectly around the bodies screening the goalie, and right above the pads. Aksel hadn't even managed a celly, sure it would be ruled out as goaltender interference which he still doesn't totally understand, but there it was on the scoreboard after an unsuccessful challenge. It was his pride of the season, his magic shot, and he hadn't shut up about it since. He's had prettier, better goals, but he loves that one.

Being offered the advisory role in this upcoming movie did of course surprise Sonja as it came out of the blue. Accepting it was never a question tho, that woman loves attention and this is another form of getting just that, especially as she gets a cameo in it too. Of course she is not doing it for the money as there is barely anything in it for her on that regard. That being said, she loves and breathes hockey so she would go for making the movie as realistic as possible, giving advices to actors on how a player would behave and what they would do as well as trying to make sure to movie itself is not too cliché. As for her role, she would be a member of the opponent film in a cup final where she would congratulate the main character after they have won the game with a beautiful play. And of course there is nothing to lose for Sonja as she can easily just walk away from the movie if the actors and the people in charge are not listening to her.
