S80 PT #4: Last Action Hero Due: Sunday, January 12th @ 11:59 PM PST

Written Option 2

In the last game of the season Chicago is down by one going into the final 2 minutes. With a faceoff in the offensive zone the goaltender us pulled and Cal Juice is lined along the boards hoping to come in behind the center to pick up the puck adter he wins a draw. Unfortunately other team wins it to their defenseman and Juice is forced to forecheck, something he's not great at. Miraculously he goes into the corner, strips the defenseman and sends it back up the boards to his own defender. Juice skates back up the wall as the defenseman walks the blue line and opens up for a shot. The defender sends it to the other defenseman and Juice moves into the slide, blade high in the air waiting for a one timer. The defenseman passes it to Juice right in his wheel house but an opposing player is immediately there and lays down to block the shot. Insteal Juice lets the puck go through his legs, catches it on his back hand, spins around the defender laying on the ice, opens back up to his forehand and lasers one over the goalie's glove. The game is tied and Chicago wins it in a shootout which Juice didn't get to shoot in but without his goal would not have happened.

The Calgary Dragons were in a tight race with the Los Angeles Panthers for the 3rd spot in the Pacific division, and the two teams faced off in Los Angeles late in the year. The Game was hugely important for playoff seeding, and things did not start off well for the Dragons. The Panthers scored two in the first, but the Dragons answered back with goals from Sonja Solberg and Anna Skovgaard, the latter of which would go on to carry the Dragons in one of the most important regular season wins of the year. Her line mate James Rowlett scored a couple of nice goals to give the Dragons a lead, but then the Panthers answered back to keep it close. Anna decided to end the game in the third, scoring twice to finish off her first SHL hat trick and silence the home crowd of the Panthers. The third goal was an absolute beauty, Anna got sprung on a breakaway and put it right in between the goalies legs to send a few hats raining onto the ice.

Graphic Option #2 - Lily goes full Tyler PErry and stars in every role in the recreation of Shrek.

Anastasia Söderström's magnum opus was her 63-save performance against the San Francisco Pride on the road to lead the Dragons to a shocking 2-1 victory. Sometimes a player or goalie will just end up "in the zone" for a night and there's seemingly nothing that can slow them down, and on this night Ana was in that state. San Francisco being one of the best teams in the league just makes the moment feel all the more exciting, and being able to get the win meant the luster wasn't dulled by the team's performance. While making 63 saves in a game does require some luck depending on the general shot quality, it also requires a lot of hard work to stay focused on making every save, having the stamina to not get tired in the game, and the strength to deal with the pressure of holding a small lead against a much higher-placed opponent. Regardless, Ana played almost 58 minutes of flawless hockey before giving up a late goal, but she was the biggest reason that Calgary was able to come away with the win here.

Written Task, Option 1

Rodrigo Banes would truly thrive in a theatrical role, and would relish the opportunity to be in any film or tv production.

In this case, it is the thrilling tale 'Black Ice:' a dark and violent sci-fi horror comedy set in a grim future where Fascist Canada rules the world, and all those deemed criminals by the corrrupt regime are sentenced to play in the deadly 'Black Ice:' a penal hockey league with rigged outcomes and a penchant for cruelty, violence and trickery; all broadcast to the folks at home.

Roddy gets to play the goon henchman for the evil team, taking bribes from prison wardens to knock off certain players. The hero of the film will at some point kill him with a slapshot through the skull after an epic tilt at center ice.

The film will no doubt be a flop, but all involved are sure to have a good time exchanging the Neo-Canadian salute: two fingers arched downward like a beaver's teeth, in front of the chin, and a loud "EH"

Damante Gogi is a up and coming defenseman. In his last game of the season, he makes the best play of his career. The game is in the 3rd period with about 4 minutes left in period. The Berserkers are on a penalty kill while being down one goal. Damante Gogi's trusty d-pair blocks a shot that bounces directly to Gogi. He notices that only one of the other team's player is back and he bring the puck straight into the left side of the neutral zone. He pulls off Datsyuk around a skater and skates straight to their goalie. Gogi attempts to a between the legs shot towards the goal but he mishandles the puck. The mishandling of the puck fakes out the goalie. This allows Gogi enough time to make a shot right over the pads and under the gloves for the game tying goal! He celebrates with a guitar solo celebration.

Written Option 1

Trevor Lopez is not a movie star by any means, but if he was brought on to consult for a film, he'd love the chance to star in a live action remake of the film Goon. He fits the role of Doug Glatt perfectly: A big, heavy hitting defenseman with a gentle, lovable demeanor. He's the kind of man who can put on the charming, simple minded act that Seann William Scott did in 2011 while adding the resume of being an actual professional hockey player. Of course, this would be difficult only because of one thing: he has no acting skill whatsoever, so it'll be a VERY interesting fit to say the least. He'll give his best performance, but it'll realistically be one of those "so bad, it's good" kind of acting roles. You'll probably enjoy the film a lot, but NOT for the reasons that the director wanted you to. No matter what, though, Trevor would enjoy his time nonetheless.

P1: The movie, “Blades of Glory: Frozen Fury,” is a dramatic, over-the-top hockey film with a Rocky-style underdog story mixed with absurd action sequences. The plot follows the “Northern Wolves,” a scrappy team facing off against the villainous “Frost Kings” in a high-stakes tournament. Packed with cheesy slow-motion shots, impossible rink stunts, and unnecessary romantic subplots, the film is more focused on box office appeal than hockey authenticity.

Tony Soprano is hired as the hockey advisor, lured by the chance to bring realism to the movie and land a cameo. However, he quickly grows frustrated as the director dismisses his advice. The actors hold sticks like baseball bats, scenes feature slapshots breaking scoreboards, and a player somehow checks an opponent into the stands mid-game. Tony gets fixated on details, ensuring skates are accurate and strategies make sense, but most of his efforts are ignored.

Tony’s cameo, though, is a highlight. Playing himself, he delivers an inspiring speech, scores on the villain, and quips, “Respect the game—and maybe some gabagool.” Though he cringes at the final product, he enjoys the chaos it sparks online.

The movie would be a serious hockey drama about the softening of professional hockey. Named 'Grit' it would follow one of the last true enforcers (Chad Checkerson, a defenceman who barely slots in as a 6th defender) in the league as they are slowly pushed out of their team and the league as a whole. Akerson's role on the movie set would be as the fight director and character coach, making sure that all of the nitty gritty details of being a tough guy in a league going soft are followed. He'd make sure all of the fight detail are perfect. He knows he has a chance to make an impression on the general public and make tough guys in hockey seem cool again. For his cameo, it wouldn't' be much. He's be a silent assistant coach, standing behind the bench with his big movement being him nodding sagely as Chad Checkerson beats up an opposing enforcer to give his team the push they need to win the big game.
