![]() SHL GM Admiral of the Data Seas ![]() Jay O'Neil @Sburbine A valuable defenseman for the Aurora. O’Neil spent most of his career on Winnipeg. Drafted 5th OA in S72, O’Neil was turning heads before the start of the S70s. However his because came in the first half of it. S70 was a part of the Kinsinger duo, scoring 19 goals and 47 assists for 66 points that season. With an extremely good 11-82 gva to takeaway ratio and 123 shots blocked that season. O’Neil won his first award of his SHL career. Winning the Bojo Biscuit, and earning 3rd All Star Team. Being nominated in S67 and losing, must have made S71 that much sweeter. You know what else is sweeter? Going back to back. That's exactly what Jay did with the biscuit. Scoring an almost identical scoreline. 18 goals, 47 assists for 65 points. O’Neil just kept on doing what he was doing. 17-95 gva to takeaway ratio, and 126 shots blocked. O’Neil was peaking for one of the best teams of the decade. With his B2B biscuit win, O’neil was on the 2nd All Star Team. Going from 3rd -> 2nd. We will see one more hop… S73 he cracked his first 20+ goals season, scoring 26 goals, 46 assists for 72 points. 9-66 gva to takeaway ratio and a career high 194 shots blocked. O’Neil was nominated for the Scott Stevens for the first and only time in his career, and was on the 1st team all stars. He also was able to win the Challenge Cup for the first time in his career. In addition to that, he was nominated for the Anton Razov too. The height of his career. S73 & S74 would be his final elite seasons. A stretch spanning 5 seasons. O’Neil scored 63 points in S73, then 59 in S74. Just continuing what he does best. Taking the puck away. S75 would be his first real down season. Only scoring 9 goals that season, it was his first time not scoring 10+ since S68. 33 points being his lowest since S69 a well. However S76 proved that he was just a speedbump for the regressing player. S76 provided a good season out of O’Neil. Scoring 16 goals, 35 assists for 51 points. S77 would be the only seasons where he was on the Aurora, being traded to the Monarchs for one season. S78 would be his final season in the league, providing one final burst of energy. 19 goals and 28 assists for a defenseman which is kinda insane to think about. O’Neil at his peak was one of the best defenseman in the league with one of the best teams in the league. However he just did his thing. A powerhouse on the power play, 67% of his goals came on the power play. His 217 power play points was 37 points more than 2nd place(Seamus O’Slapahan with 180) and playing a season left. He did more too, taking away the puck, scored goals, and was a great defenseman. His 641 takeaways is 3rd in the league for the decade, even playing with 1 less season. His 483 points by a defenseman is 3rd in the decade as well. THe 145 goals is the 2nd most goals by a defenseman this decade too. ![]() Evil AllBran @Evil_AllBran One of my favorite people on this site. AllBran was one of the best goal scorers from S68 - S72. However we will look at his decade as a whole. Switching to defense in S77 & S78, he is one of the few players to switch positions and make it this far up the list. Allbran’s peak came in the early S70’s. One of the oldest players that are this high up, Allbran was a S60 draftee. While he played in the 70’s, Allbran was in regression for all of it. S70 he was the 4th best player in the league. Behind his other Center Red Kirkby, Allbran scored 58 goals and 120 points that season. 4th in the league in points. His 58 goals would also be 4th in the league too. In the playoffs he turned up the notch again. Losing in the conference finals in S70 to the Wolfpack, Allbran still led all skaters in points that season. 2nd place was Petr Svoboda with 32 points in 28 games played. Allbran scored 36 in 18. Helping him being nominated to the Razov that season. S71 he would be one of the best players period. Scoring 60 goals, and 122 points. Allbran this time was 3rd in the league in points. Only 1 point behind Mikko Rashford and 7 behind Gunnardson. Allbran led the league in goals that season with Gunnardson. He Won the Ron Mexico that season as well, 1st All Star Team, and the Sarmad Khan nomination too. S72 would be his last elite season this decade. Scoring 101 points that season, Allbran was 10th in the league in points that season. Scoring 42 goals as well. However after that, and no longer being on PP1 on one of the best teams in the league. Allbran felled off. His even strength points still doing great. 33 goals and 40 assists in 73 points in S73. Then in S74 he scored 70 points again. Regression slowly taking over. S75 & S76 only scoring 61 points in both seasons. S77 came along and Allbran switched to defense for the Forge. S77 not scoring a single goal, however having 31 assists that season. S78 would be his final season, scoring 24 points as a defenseman. His 122 points and 120 points ranks him 18th and 20th best individual this decade. Plenty worthy of being #19 on this list. ![]() BASE PACK @slothfacekilla One of the best goalies this decade, BASE PACK was able to string together a great decade with the Forge. His 342 wins ranks him comfortably 2nd this decade in wins. Starting off the decade hot, BASE actually had a career high in wins this season. Having his best season of the decade in his first one. Winning 43 games, 8 shutouts and a .909 SV%. BASE was the best goalie hands down. Winning the McBride, honcho, and 1st All Star Team. Funny enough, this would be the last time he won an award this season. Having up and down seasons. BASE was able to collect a lot of wins, and great stats to back it up. Half the seasons he was above .900. The other half he was damn close. With another half of his seasons, he was a .895, .895, .899, .889 , .891 SV%. BASE was able to provide a settling presence in the backside of the force. S77 would be his 2nd best season with the Forge. His 2nd 40+ win season, winning 42 games, 4 shutouts and a .901. BASE earned 1st All Star Team, and was nominated for the McBride for the 2nd time, though not winning it. Base Pack was 2nd in the decade in shutouts as well. With 32 over the decade, playing the 4th most games played this decade with 519. Over the decade BASE won 65% of the regular season games he played in. A winning goalie on a winning team. BASE PACK was one of the key successes to a dominant Philly decade. ![]() Mikko Rashford @Rashford Being a winger is hard in the league. You will on average score 8 less points than your center does each season. However Rashford was able to overcome those odds and land 17th on this list. Drafted in S62 to the Winnipeg Aurora, Rashford had a great career and legacy for Winnipeg, before ending his career with the Panthers. First making his debut in S65, it would be 5 seasons before we look at Rashford's career. Luckily he saved all of his amazing seasons for them. With S70 being his best. S69 he scored 74 points. S70 he scored 131 points. 2nd in the league in points, only 1 point behind philadelphia’s Red Kirkby. Rashford was nominated for the Aidan Richan, Sarmad Khan, and the Ron Mexico, however lost them all. He did get 1st All Star team though! So something to bring home to the kids. S71 he would also be 2nd in the league in points again! Tough luck there, however he was only behind his own center in Lias Ekholm-Gunnardson. Scoring 49 goals, 74 assists for 123 points. Nominated for the Khan in the 2nd straight season, and on the 1st All Star Team. Rashford continued to be a great player for the Aurora for 2 more seasons. As he left PP1 in the S74 season. S72 he scored 94 points, then in S73 scored 101 points. As being pushed down the lineup, he lost his fitting. Scoring 55 & 59 points in the following 2 seasons. However S87 and being put back on the power play, Rashford proved he had something left in the tank. Scoring 27 goals and 87 points. Rashford actually proved himself on the two-way side this time. With a positive Takeaway to giveaway ratio, and 144 hits. Rashford won his first major award of his career with the Jeff Dar that season. S77 would be his last season with the Aurora, then going to Los Angeles for the final 2 seasons. Rashford provided great depth on stacked teams. Winning his 2nd cup in S79 with the Panthers. Rashford also had another legacy to him. Although no Razov nominations. Rashford was one of the best playoff performers this decade. In the S70’s, Rashford had 4 amazing seasons, then 3 more great seasons in the playoffs. Starting in S70 Rashford had 27 points in 22 games, losing in the finals. S71 with 33 points in 22 games losing in the finals. S72 30 points in 19 games, and winning in the finals!. Then finally in S73 where he scored 30 points in 17 games played. Then a 15, 17, and 13 point performance in the finals. His 177 playoff points ranked T-6th in this decade. ![]() Max Carnage @Sizz A young person amongst old people. Max Carnage was drafted in S71! The highest player that was drafted in the S70’s, Carnage had to be exceptional in order to make this list. And he was able to have 1 amazing season to do so. If you can look at the S78 season for sure. Starting in S73, Carnage was a good player for the Barracuda. Overing from 60-70 points for the first 5 seasons with Tampa. Carnage was not afforded the power play time until the S78 career. With that power play time, Carnage had no time to waste. Scoring 62 points and 129 points. Carnage had one of the best seasons in the S70’s. Ranking 9th all time in single season points. He is the youngest on the list. This 62 points was 7th in single season goals as well. And only one of 11 people to reach it that decade. With such an amazing season means you win everything. Leading the league in both goals and points. Carnage won the Karpotsov and the McDonald that season for leading the league in points and goals. Winning the Mexico and the Khan, he won both MVP’s that season. 1st All Star Team was a given. He also won the AIdan Richan for breakout playof of the season. Where he doubled his points the last season. S79 he would follow up with a strong performance as well, scoring 44 goals and 53 assists for 97 points. He was put on the 3rd All Star Team. A shorter career than anyone else around here, Carnage made his impact well known. And the awards propelled him to #16. ![]() Winnipeg Aurora Jack of All Trades
