As we head into a new season, we look back and say goodbye to our outgoing captain Cristoforo Roccamontepiano @Matteo. He's been a monster on the ice and wonderful in the locker room in every way possible. We know he'll do great things in Edmonton and will do his junior team proud. Even further, we only have one more returning captain this vote. Instead, we bring in two new rookies and an older but amazing recreate into the captaincy ranks this time. Without further ado, we welcome our captains of the team!

Before we wrap up the announcement, I'd like to expand on the wonderful contributions of each captain and my gratitude for each and every one of them on the team.
Rodwin Dionicio - Our first overall two seasons ago, Rodwin steps up to being the captain for our team until his departure into the SHL! He has massive shoes to fill from Matteo, but with the help and energy he's brought ever since our first chats during scouting, he has the potential to. Lallaren has been wonderfully helpful in our front office, ensuring we bring in our wonderful new rookies this season. He's also been learning tactics, and is ready to try and keep his 100% cup record, despite the hard uphill coming up this season. Afterall, his shower's been instrumental to our back-to-back and enshrined itself into QCC legend forever.
Dejana Kaptina - Our returning captain, Dejana is promoted up from the Away Alternate to the main Alternate Captain for the team. No introduction needed, but Valpix does plenty for the team as a user as she runs our Game nights and our music league! Even past that, her player absolutely pulled her weight in the playoffs, always holding the pressure against our opponents anytime our old captain was off the ice. An absolutely wonderful person, such a position is deserved due to the dedication she puts to our team without asking for anything in return. Just- don't play Yahtzee against her unless you want to lose. I don't know how she does it, that game's like- entirely random I thought.

Shiny Rainbow - Joining us in the same draft as Lallaren, Marshi's been instrumental as we compete. A terrifying center on the ice, Marshi is a wonderful person showing up and hanging out. They're the first to continue with the cup hype even as Ramen and I hesitate. That said, we're in a rebuild so don't get your hopes up too much! I'm glad we were able to keep them as the occasional humour and sarcasm is a treat, even though it can be difficult to see them around due to being across the Atlantic compared to those of us in the Americas. Keep your head up Marshi, and thank you for putting your trust with us in your journey through the junior leagues. You'll do great things in the SHL, I just know it.

Aslak Hestnes - ztevans, also known as Zach, has been part of the SHL since 2016. Starting with his Hall of Fame player Zach Evans, he went on to win two Challenge Cup with the Winnipeg Jets, now the Aurora both as a player and as a co-GM. His next players had a bit of a lower profile, but both Zdenko Beranek and Aslak Hestnes managed to find success with our team. Zdenko Beranek was a key part of the inaugural rosters of the team, selected first overall by the new organization. It brought a fun and knowledgeable presence to a young team. Beranek wore the team's Away Alternate letter for his whole career and culminated with a cup win in S58 before graduating. Aslak Hestnes is in his last season with us sadly. However, his presence was instrumental to the back to back Four Star Cup Wins. Amusingly like the past, he shall be adorned with the A on his jersey the once again, and thank him for his dedication and involvement with the team.

I shall wrap it up here. Congratulations to our new captains once again! I know you'll make the team proud. You've already done so already without the letter on your jerseys after all.

Color me surprised, I thought that another more established player would be given the honor of wearing the C. Quite touching that I've managed to gain the confidence of the team for this role. I know I have a good staff of Alternatives that I can lean on both with two veterans in Kaptina & Hestnes and a fellow S80 draft class rookie (we are forever rookies) in Rainbow. Gonna be hard to fill the shoes Roccamontepiano leaves behind, including the pressure to win 2 cups, but with this team never count us out! We play our best during our rebuilds.
