1.5-3 TPE 2. The San Francisco Pride, and Tampa Bay Barracuda both made it into the finals, however they both had a different path to the final (otherwise they would not be here). San Francisco had the Winnipeg Aurora, Seattle Argonauts, and the New Orleans Specters, winning all of them 4-2. While the Tampa Bay Barracuda had the Philadelphia Forge, Montreal Patriotes, and New England Wolfpack winning all of them 4-3. When looking at where the teams ended San Francisco Pride played against the 15th, 5thm and 6th placed team, while Tampa Bay Barracuda played against the 3rd, 7th, and 8th placed team. While both routes are very close to each other, you do have to say that the Tampa Bay Barracuda probably had the more difficult route than the San Francisco Pride, mostly down to them beating the Philadelphia Forge in the first round, compared to the Winnipeg Aurora who got beat by the San Francisco Pride. 155 Words – 3 TPE 8.(What happened to 7) I personally think the San Francisco Pride will win the challenge cup, part of this comes from me typing this after the matches, when the scoreline is already known which proved me right, and that is always fun to say. However the San Francisco Pride does feel like they had another couple of seasons of championship play, and at one point this triple win needed to happen, and it feels like this is the season it would happen. Basically from the start the San Francisco Pride felt like the heavy favorites for this season, once again so to speak. Meanwhile while the Tampa Bay Barracuda feels like they got a team together which could win any other season, it just feel like this is the season for the San Francisco Pride. Of course knowing afterwards, it might be the last season for the Pride with a few players already having left the team. 153 words – 3 TPE Total: 7.5-8 TPE ![]() ![]() Registered Posting Freak

12. If I had to guess, I would say that it will probably go awry for the contenders. Can't say why but I feel that is what it will be, maybe that is just pessimism from me or something. But I don't know, I feel like an expansion will not be enough to knock the top dogs off the perch yet. Still, guess that is an idea to try and fix it, right? Good luck with that. I am actually more curious about where the teams will be placed, mostly because it tends to be pretty interesting to have a new place to visit and all. Assuming we play every team and all, that is another place to write about if we ever feel like doing so. The competitive aspect is interesting enough but I think you are more likely to just have teams that are just there for a while and not really doing anything major, plus the teams who have the handle of things are far bigger than you would think where losing four players will make that much of a difference. Finally, I do feel like I will be uncovered for the draft somehow. Haven't been traded yet so it might end up happening somehow. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Player Page - Update Page ![]() Former Players: Yoshimitsu McCloud (LW, #64) - ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Won a Four Star Cup once, knew ninjutsu, picture editors hated him, never tried free agency Anton Harrier (LW, #90) - ![]() ![]() ![]() Won WJC gold, liked skateboarding a lot, went to the finals with Manhattan, kept his seat glued in LR ![]() WJC Commissioner Senior Member

10. +4 TPE This is a good question that really every GM that is not in the challenege cup final must be right now asking themselves: What do they do that makes them so succsessful. And now if there was a clear answer then wouldnt every team try to do it. Well I dont know about that. What works for one team may not work for another. I like pancakes troy may like waffles. As Mac Turner loves to say "Potatos Tomatos." Speaking on that point a bit further, I'd like to think that the two teams have taken steps to improve player life. Someone should really be asking what they are feeding these players! The season is already long and grueling enough but playoffs is rough! As the age old saying goes: Give that boy some milk. Food and the quality of that food is undervalued for its importance in a teams succsess. Moving on, I think another thing that these two teams are doing differnt than the rest of the league is mattresses, more specfically mattresses for the players and coaches. Now everyone knows sleep is important but not everyone knows that a great mattress can be the differnce in a game. Same thing with pillows. Well those are my two cents 4. +1 TPE I think what maybe newer users or those unfamiliar with FHM are underestimating in this case is a factor in FHM called chemistry. The longer a player plays with another player, the better they will perform together. That is why when you have these players such as Tampa Bay’s Jølngüštrâädüvich DuBølk, Rikkert Biemans and Johnny Wagner-Svenson who are still performing despite regression, some of the has to be credited to the devloped chemistry between the players. 12. Expanding with an additional four teams is surely going to shake up the power balance of the league. While the cores of successful teams will likely remain untouched, the depth that separates the great teams from the good teams is the facet that is going to be hit the hardest. Those teams with three strong forward lines and three powerful defensive pairs are going to have to make tough decisions whereas teams with a few good players will likely only lose replacement level players. Therefore, I think there will be a rush on free agents by teams in their contention windows to replace the good players they lost, while mid to low tier teams will likely fill this with mid tier stop gaps or bringing up their prospects to fill the voids. In the immediate interim future after the expansion draft, I think we will see a lot of prospects turn pro early. Ultimately, over the long term, this will increase parity and hopefully spread the wealth to prevent these prolonged contention windows that we are seeing in the current era with only a handful of teams making it to the conference finals and going on to win the cup season after season. (203 words) +4TPE 15. The San Francisco Pride ended up winning their third consecutive championship and it came as no surprise. They have been the bogeyman of the league over that time and their depth and talent is nearly impossible to match over a seven game series. Tampa Bay put up a good effort, but ultimately fell in a similar way that Winnipeg, Seattle, and New Orleans did before them. You can get keep it close over a two or three game stretch but eventually the Pride are going to be too much to overcome. (91 words) +1TPE

What do they do different? Truly I wish I knew. Two years in a row now, the Atlanta Inferno have either won the Presidents trophy, or have missed out on it by a mere 2 points. And both years, they were taken out of the playoffs by the Tampa Bay Barracuda who were one of the lower teams coming into the playoffs. And even in years prior to this, when Atlanta were below Tampa Bay, it always seemed like it would be Tampa Bay eliminating the Atlanta Inferno. Maybe there is something in the water down there in the gulf that's fueling these players come playoff time. Maybe it's that warm Florida sun once mid-spring hits, I really do not know. But they clearly know how to dig in when the time comes and get the big important wins. And on the San Francisco side, I mean, just look at them. Pure and utter dominance both in the regular season and in playoffs. They have so many top TPE earners, their GM knows how to find excellent players and keep a hold of them. Verification word: carey +3 tpe 10. What do they do different? Both teams had some bad seasons in the past where they had the chance to get some high picks and grab some really good players that will put them at the top of the league again. So, I think teams need to have some bad seasons from time to time to get one or more high end prospects that will help them be back at the top. 67 words = +1 tpe 11. It's About Time For the regular season, I think Texas had a season way better than expected! We had one of the worst tpe ranking team but still managed to finish a top 5 team in the entire league! Don’t know how we did it and if our GMs made some magic or something, but I’m really impressed with our season. For the playoffs part, New England went farther than expected for me, I had them loose in the first round haha! The first round against Buffalo was a 50/50 so I can understand they won it, but I’m really surprise they managed to win against Montreal and got to 7 game against Tampa Bay. 112 words = +2tpe 13. Written, 50 to 200+ words. Old Reliable IIHF Analysis I think Canada will win the IIHF this season are they are at home. They are always competitive and have a chance to win it all. For me in Québec, we are still a young team trying to improve every tournament. We were at home in Montréal last tournament and finished at the 9th position. With only 3 points, I hope I can do better in this tournament and help the team be in a better position and make the medal round. 82 words = +1tpe 14. Volatile Results I think it’s fun that way, there is a bit of luck involve in each tournament so we can see some surprises and I like the format we have at the moment. I don’t even know what change I would do, maybe do a 2 of 3 for the medal round, because elimination game for a medal is probably the only part I don’t like. 65 words = +1tpe ![]() Registered Senior Member

Old Reliable IIHF Analysis So this is Celly's first time playing at senior IIHF level, and it's for a much different team than they played their World Juniors career for. They transferred to Latvia to join their most beloved partner and favorite defenseman of all time Leo Roze after being passed over and sat by the United States for several years. Latvia was fifth in the group stage last IIHF tourney, with nary an overtime win to show for it- the team lacked in clutch factor and then lost out to France in an absolute blowout in the first round of the bracket. With Celeste's addition to the roster, Latvia can be expected to have a lot more up-front push and with all hope a lot more success up top. Latvia has been steadily creeping up the standings the last few years as it is, so this could very easily be the year they take the jump into medal contention or maybe even a win- they're not likely to win it all and take home gold, but the avenue to bronze or even silver is right in front of them and easily accessible. Of course, that's assuming the traditionally rather strong defense holds it together. [201 words, +4] Code: Code: 15. Written, 50 to 200+ words.- The Procrastinator Special! huh 2. Which team has had the easier road to the cup finals? Do you think they could have made it to the finals if they were in a different division? Tampa has had the way easier road to the finals because they never had to endure the grind of a schedule in the Western conference. The teams are just better, meanwhile they're getting a cakewalk for most of their year against the Eastern teams. They also get to the playoffs and get to continue that cake walk as they never have to play a LAP or TEX or NOLA or anything on their way to the finals, just lukewarm opponents one after the other all the way home - must be nice! Meanwhile SFP is out here grinding - having to face the man Rasmus Bergling over and over again throughout the year and in the playoffs - it's a wonder they had the stamina, and frankly the health, to make it all the way to the finals when they've been taking such a physical and emotional beating throughout the year. Tampa doesn't know a grind, and I don't know if that'll help or hurt them here. [+3 TPE] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
