“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again. ... There are neither beginnings nor endings to the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning.”

5. What location should the next Expo be hold at? Why? (+2 TPE, 154 words):

In my opinion, Chicago would be a great idea to host an expo. In fact, it’s one of the only SHL teams that didn’t make an All-Star Host appearance. Also, it’s one of the original 6 teams in the NHL that is almost at 100 years old. So, it could be special to have a sort of collab with the SHL team that we can consider as ‘’originals’’ that we can do 1 with the NHL teams, 1 with the original SHL teams (that are currently the fusion of a new one, or still there). For example, for the NHL, Montreal, Toronto and Chicago, and for the SHL teams, Baltimore, Toronto, Calgary, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Tampa Bay. I think it can be cool to consider these teams in a future Expo (like SHL 90 or 100), or even in the next 5 SHL Expos All-Stars games that will come up in the next months.

2 + 3 + 3 = 8 TPE

So +8 TPE.

4. This is great seeing so many teams represented in one squad, but it might hurt their chemistry a bit. This is an all-star team, they all deserve to be here. I won’t go into the reasons why whoever picked them decided to chose so many players from different teams, but it adds a bit of fun to see if they can beat the teams with players that are more familiar with each other.

5. This is a very interesting question. There is so many cities that would do a fantastic job hosting this year, and even though it is usually a team’s city, this time I think we go with something more interesting: Lake Placid. It has a great rink and a vibrant history, I think it would be a great experience for the players and coaches to play here.

6. The best goalie tandem has got to be Team Fletcher. Justin Time is just too good to not be chosen. Sure Stun Gun had a great season, but Justin only has good seasons. With him being the goalie that the Pride ran throughout their three-peat, he has to be here. Not to be overlooked, the backup Song Ju-gong has had a great season on Montreal. They’ll be important if Justin needs a break.

7.  This was a tough line to find. I wasn’t sure which conference to pick, but with Josie Cass and Ethan Cross both in the south, it had to be them. Here is the lines:

Tidal   RW Josie Cass
Point leader and probably MVP, nuff said.

Tidal  C Ethan Cross
Assist leader and second in points, plus great chemistry with Cass.

Highlanders RW Hotdog Lunch
Third in points and goals, rising star in the SMJHL.

Tidal  D Jeremy Snugglemuffin lll
Third in defensive scoring and top in hits, providing some much needed defense.

Battleborn D Arvinder Singh
Fifth in points and first in PP goals, go-to guy on the power play.

Highlanders  G Jeff Kirkstone lll
Not the best goalie in the league but a solid option for the south.

3 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 2 = 8TPE

7. What would be your starting lineup, 3 forwards, 2 defencemen and a goalie for one of the SMJHL conferences?

As has been the pattern in the J lately, despite the Kraken winning the Four-Star Cup this season, the strongest teams have been in the Northern Conference. These big boys and girls are the cream of the Northern Crop:

Center:          Mel Guolla (KEL)
Left Wing:      Puddles O'Duckling (TBW)
Right Wing:    Jason Bourne (NL)
Defense:        Ivan Ivanovitch (NL)
Defense:        Big Sweg (NL)
Goalie:          Ela Solberg (QCC)

10. Written, 50 to 200+ words. I Choose You!

Personally, I have to say that I would prefer that All-Star week retains the system of grouping teams by division. I'm generally never opposed to trying out new systems / formats, to see how things look if you shake them up. But I really like the tradition of grouping teams by division or conference. Part of the fun of attending All-Star week is that (hopefully) you can go with a group of your regular teammates and participate on a new team together. Being the sole (regular) team representative on an All-Star team is always a possibility, but it's nicer, I think, to be able to join with teammates in these festivities.  I think you also lose a bit of the "meaning" of each team when the players are chosen by third-party drafters.

I would definitely not expect that mixed teams would make the tournament more even. I would expect that all divisions have a similar amount of top-end talent; mid and lower ranges are where you see the real differentiation between divisions, I think.

While we're discussing the format of the All-Star week festivities, I would still like to suggest that there are too many All-Stars. With four All-Star teams from a league of 20 teams, a full 20% of the league makes it to the All-Star week. There's nothing wrong with being a bit more exclusive.

11. Written, 50 to 200+ words. Here For The Show

A solid excuse to visit Disneyland is not something to be passed up. Barcus, having just turned 21, would definitely make the most of that visit by going with a bunch of his new and old teammates. Going on the rides, eating horribly unhealthy food, and just plain-old goofing around is not something he gets to do during the focused grind that is a hockey season. Sometimes you just need to let loose.

3. Which team has most interesting options for their best 1st line or 1st pair? What makes them best?

3. I would say the team that has the best potential 1st line would be team fletcher, I would put on the top line: F - Lily Jin Morrow, F - Jussi Mutou and F - Foya Solberg, D - Sydney Shaw and D - Rowan O'Beirne with G - Justin Time. Half the line is SFP but they have chemistry together and in one game event like this, having that is important. For the forward group all 3 players has amazing seasons and would be great to see them all playing together on the same line and would be tough for the opposing team to stop their attack.

11. Written, 50 to 200+ words. Here For The Show
So your player travels to Disneyland to either take part in the All-Star Expo or to watch it live. But it is also a location with other activities to offer. Do you think your player would be focused on the All-Star Expo or would it be seen as secondary priority for their travel? Who do they come there with, do they bring family and or friends with them or just enjoy the event with their teammates? What else do they spend their time and money on during the trip?

For this season, Kim Chaewon has decided to explore disneyland to attend the all-star expo and catch the SHL all-stars competing in-person with each other. Also, since it's taking place at disneyland she also takes the time to enjoy the festivities and all the disney magic that it has to offer. This would be a great time for all of 5 of the Le Sserafim members to reunite and catchup with each other since their latest comeback. Chaewon misses her teammates in Le Sserafim and wants to enjoy some quality time wtih them and what better place to do it then at disneyland! The girls will ride the rides and expect Kim Chaewon to scream in fear and take in all the wonderful sights and sounds that disneyland has to offer. It will be interesting to see Jennifer Huh and kim Chaewon together again since they both are with separate SHL teams, but they are very close friends from their time in Produce 48 and now with Le Sserafim. This trip to disneyland will be filled with great memories that Chaewon will cherish forever.

8. Written, 50 to 200+ words. The Teammate One

Tell me about your teammate who made the all star expo! Who are they,
why were they an obvious choice to make the All Star roster, and what do
you expect from them this ASE? (If more than one of your teammates made
the game, pick one of those players other than yourself. If you are the
only player on your team selected for the all star game so far, write
who else should had been picked from your team.)
I am so proud of my teammate Chris McZehrl III for making the all star game on Team Light. McZehrl was in his rookie season in S81, and yet he absolutely lit it up like he has been in the league for many seasons. To say McZehrl was a force on offense would be an understatement. As a forward with the Renegades, McZehrl registered 83 points in 66 games on 40 goals and 43 assists. The 40 goals in particular is incredibly impressive for any forward, let alone a rookie. MzZehrl should be the easy choice for rookie of the year, and he is also extremely deserving off the all star selection because of how dominant he was for Texas on offense this season. McZehrl is also just a world class teammate and such an incredible presence in the Texas locker room. Although not measured for this game, I think it is just another reason he should be an all star. This time teams are not formed from players that play in same division
(or conference) but instead were drafted by Hall of Fame members. What
pros and cons do you see to forming teams like this? Do mixed teams make
the even more interesting? Do you expect it to make the games and
tournament more even? Is anything lost by moving away from the
divisional teams?
I love the format this year. To be selected by Hall of Fame members is such an honor for us all star players. Also, who better than Hall of Famers to judge the talent and draft who they want? I think it adds a fun dynamic to the game for the fans, and I believe that mixed teams make things more interesting for everyone involved in the all star game. There might be some "bad blood" lost by moving away from divisional teams, but I do not think that anyone takes the all star game that seriously anyway. I am looking forward to seeing how these drafted teams play! (108 words)
