Forwards:
This group of forwards have a great Mixture of vets and young players, Grit, offensive players. This would be one of the best forward groups to ever get put together in the SHL on paper. Having an star centre like Witzel leading this offence will be huge but he has a great cast of offensive players in Webb,Martucci,Mckiel,Webb and Lindsay who are all top line players on any SHL team in the league and have 6 of them is eye poping. The third line of Perhonen, Wissink and Swerin might be the toughest line to play against, this line will be hitting everything in sight and playing great defensive hockey. This is an elite shut down line on an elite team. Then the fourth line of Wilson,Miller and Bolt arent bottom six players, these guys will provide scoring depth for this team and will be very important when the big six are struggling as they can chip in with a quick goal to swing the momentum

Defence-mans
This six Defenders are all elite defenders, all these six defenders can move the puck up the ice, be mean and play defence, they also can score. This group is going to be perfect for the style of play this team will play. All six are even when it comes to skill and talent.

Goaltenders
Jesster and andersson aren't Elite number one goalies anymore in the league but the starts looks to be spilt between these two goalies and post-season play will be decided to the one who has be hotter or had better success in the regular season.

What you see is what you get..... A team that has high power offence capabilities and also the ability to shut down teams with the bottom six. The goal here was to have my scoring coming from my top 2 lines while my 3rd and 4th can also contribute by they would be playing a grittier defence type game which would result in turnover and lead to scoring chances. On my offence it is more a young-older mix that can continue the tradition a longer time. The guys on the 4th line could easily a few years down the road could become a very solid first - second line down the road and part of the goal with my offence is to have a core that could stick together for a long time.

On defence we have 6 very solid options that it was kind of hard to split the time between all of them for special teams but I tried. what I thought looked best given the circumstances that not everyone could play in every scenario. That is why I used my leftovers as extras thinking if there is a penalty or injury one of them could step up and perform very well. There is no other way to comment on the defence then just a very solid group of younger defencemen that can move forward as a group until they retire.

In net I went with the two starters of this final as what could be more all star than the 2 starters. Sure they are up in years but that is what all star means. I am counting on these goalies to shut down the opposition game in and game out. Having the two better goalies allows me to rid the hot hand and then give the alternate some time when things begin to get sour and to keep both fresh.

I have decided to make a team that it really based on chemistry. On the first line we have three great SHL players. Witzel and Martucci have been playing together all season and have really produced well together? But who to add on the same line as them? Klose. He is a pure goal scorer and a great offensive player and it wouldn't take long for them to start producing as a whole. Secondly, we have Mckeil and Lindsay who can really spark something together and we add a pure playmaker in Webb with them. The top 6 is truly incredible as each player can easily have 60+ points per season. The third line we get a little more conservative and defensive Perhonen and Smith are two great defensive players and with the addition of a tough guy makes the line ever more deadly. Finally we have Wilson-Bolt who are not the best players anymore but can still have decent season and I decided to put Miller with them. He is still young and it would be great to have him play with two veterans.

Defensively, I still went with the chemistry for the first line. No doubt I would put these Grig and Ekblad at the first pairing. Two great friend off and on the ice and would make a deadly combination. Chilsing and Carlsson would be a great addition to the defensive. You have a pure offensive goal scorer with Erik and Carlsson is incredible at what he does. Smirnov and Drake would be on the more defensive side and would be great for some defensive situation.

Finally the goalie was possible the hardest one to do. Both of these guys are great at what they do but I have to go with experience. Jesster has been a dominant goalie from day one and Andersson would be a great addition if anything where to go wrong with Jesster.

WRITE UP

Here is my dream team. My dream team is people I think it would be cool to play with. I am pretty sure this is not what was meant by this but I spend my time on here to have a good time. I feel like this team would be fun times.
Forwards: There is a rage bias here. Jordan Nugent-Hall, McArthur, and Kulikov are all on my team. They dominated for Manhattan this year putting up ridiculous numbers. All are good guys and I would love to have them on the team. Another trend on the squad is top young talent. Along with Jordan we see Ivo Williams, Emma Watson, Smirnov Light, and Sven Wolf. Of this group I only briefly was teammates with Sven’s alter ego the rest seem like quality guys, and girl, who would make the LR a ridiculous place worth coming to. Note that Williams made my Polar Bear sig and I am internally grateful. Rounding out the forwards are Marshall, Spezza, Mexico, and Gooseneck. All seem like solid guys, I included Marshall because you were or almost were snubbed by Team Canada and you seemed like you needed love.
Defence: I admit there were many close inclusions here. Meb I wish you could be on the team. Picked some close friends on the site, Grossy and Schultz to join the d-line with me as well as fellow Frenchmen Lebacon and two seemingly cool guys Dooley, who has terrible luck it seems, and Carlzner.
Goalie: Heiss is my starter. Heiss is the god I worship. Heiss is amazing. Backup is an inactive because I do not want anyone taking spot light away from Heiss.

Klose - Webb is dynamite. McKeil - Klose has historically done well in international play. Line makes sense to me. Bumped Witz and Tucci down to line 2, not because they're inferior, but because they are going to draw all sorts of favorable matchups. Smith augments that line with excellent consistency and experience. Perhonen gets to play a shutdown role with a couple of impact guys on line 3. Defense is scary to look at, which is why they all pretty much have the same ice time. Having a HoFer like Chisling on the 3rd pairing says it all. Due to the insane offensive firepower, I put myself on the point for last minute offensive. I've got max defense, passing, and scoring, so I think it's a good fit and lets Tucci work his magic with Witz up front.

Jesster gets the nod in goal because he's the man, a living legend. When most people expected relatively little from Calgary this season, Jesster put the team on his shoulders and ran with it. Yeah, the shoulders are getting old at this point, but he's a class act through-and-through and deserves to put up gaudy win totals with that team in front of him.

For such a short point task, there were really some tough decisions. Do I make this a quick team that has four lines who can all score, or do I make this a balanced forward corps who can score and defend? The top line was an obvious one. I have the pleasure to have been able to select two of the best players in the SHL right now in Brodie Witzel and Christoph Klose, so there was no way I was letting them not play together, and adding Martucci would push that to an unstoppable line. The second line of Perhonen, Webb and McKeil would be no slouches either. To wrap up the forward cores, the third line is speedy and can provide some offense when called upon, and the fourth line is a few young guns who will turn into top line players.

The defense is an embarrassment of riches. 4 guys who can be considered number one D. In the end I decided to pair a Steelhawk with a Dragon and ended up with two top pairings that will stop D and score goals like nothing. Not much else to say about that, other than the third pairing is a couple of young guys who will eventually become my third top pairing.

Goaltending was easy. The best goalie of all time in Jesster starting and one of the top goalies in the league playing backup.

I went for power on offense and then decided to go with strength on defense. I feel like these two teams had some really solid players which is why it was so hard to cut some of these guys as there are a lot of talented players which explains why they are in the cup finals. I wanted my more defensively oriented guys on the third line while my high powered forwards on offense played on the first couple lines as that would provide us with really strong scoring. I also decided to use Schultz and Miller because I know them personally and I know that they will be really great players in the future for their team so it would only make sense to add them to this dream team if I am to coach or manage it for multiple years. The Dragons had some great guys like little known veteran Vladislav Smirnov and then outstanding defensive players like Perhonen. Webb and Klose are really sick players which is why I felt the need to include them while Chisling is a hall of famer and Grigorenko looks to be one in the future.

I feel like this combination of players would give me the best chance to win.
