There's no way he didn't, lol...

Said that he talked with her on the phone every night, and his father said she visited him frequently in Hawaii.

He didn't make up the girl he met her online and got into a relationship with her and it turned out someone else made up the girl and said she died. It is like the movie Catfish. Its is funny but its pretty fucked that people would do that type of thing.

He claimed he had talked to her every night, that he met her in person after a Stanford - ND game, and that she had visited him multiple times in Hawaii.

There's no way it was a "Catfish" situation..

Where did you read that they met? Because everything I read they never met.

obviously he and his family lied about them meeting, but like i said, that could have been a cover up for telling the world he has an online gf.

i wouldnt tell my friends im on a simulation hockey league, nevermind telling the world i had a gf on the internet
