How has JVR looked? Haven't watched any Leafs hockey yet this season.

He's been decent. He's been playing on the third line with Kadri and Komarov. He's only been playing about 10 minutes a game so it's tough to judge but I thought he was good today in the third period. He has a heavy shot but needs to hit the net more often and his talent is very clear. Surprisingly is pretty fast when at top speed but his acceleration isn't that great.

Overall, I really like him. I'm hoping they make some changes to the lines and give the Kadri line more ice time and the Grabo line less.

It's not that we don't like him it's just that he isn't that great. If komi plays like he did on opening night consistently, he has much more value to this team than Franson.

I don't think any (or most) Leaf fan dislikes him, hes just the odd man out. What Franson brings can be found in other players, who bring more of an all around game.

I want Nonis to trade him, he is definitely a good 2nd pairing guy.

Gotcha, that makes sense. I've watched both Leafs games and I definitely like Franson's style but what you're saying makes sense. Wasn't sure just was odd to hear you guys prefer Komi over him considering Komi's cap hit but Komi's looked good

What do you think we could get in a trade for Franson and Holzer? Both are young bottom pairing D's with some upside but we have a log jam back there. Would be nice to maybe get another 1st rounder in this draft

Yeah Komi's been great so far under Carlyle, his skating has gotten a lot better too.

I feel like this team needs to get another 1st/2nd line winger, realistically a #1 C is not going to happen through trade right now. Kulemin and Mac are just borderline 2nd liners, we need a Chris Stewart type of player.

As for the draft (still early but whatever), if we were to finish mid 1st round this is how i would prefer to see it go down.

1st Round: Fucale/Centre
2nd Round: Fucale/Winger with top six potential

Depending on how Fucale's stock fluctuates.

Don't agree about Martin/Fucale but I do think it would be worth a gamble on Nichuskin mid-late 1st.

We need to draft a high profile goalie, idek who the hell Martin is. Enough with this quick fix Rynnas, Owuya, Gustavsson, Scrivens, etc shit, we need to bite the bullet and draft a highly touted goalie.

Spencer Martin is a much better goaltending prospect. He's the goalie for the Steelheads and is probably the only reason why Missisauga had any success this season. He's honestly a beast. Shutout in the prospect game too.

Just because Fucale had a great year last year doesn't mean he is head and shoulders the best goalie prospect. Watch some Steelheads games and you'll see how great this kid is. Just needs to work on his rebounds and he's golden.

Ya I have seen Martin a few times, I just feel Fucale has that thing that stats don't show. There is a reason he is so highly ranked with the numbers he has. It isn't a huge gap but I would still take Fucale first.

True. Yeah, i think it would be best to grab him in the 2nd round then, if hes available.

Either one would be good though. If rather Nichushkin over both.

Yeah hes nasty, but its that Russian factor, though. There's always that risk he'll stay in Russia.

Ya I don't think I would use a 1st on either of them in a draft like this. Biggest thing for Nichuskin I think is if he can become a little less one track minded and pass off to teammates off of his rush more often he will be an unreal player.......So much raw talent though, you would be crazy to pas on him mid-late first imo
