Btw is this something that's decided on by the SHL- or the NWJHL-Commishes, is the Rulebook-Commitee involved etc? Because I think there has been plenty of Input now and we seem to start running in circles, I think it's time for someone to work something out internally and then have the decision on it.

We've started a discussion amongst SHL and NWJHL Commissioners, and I believe once we reach a consensus, it would go to you guys for more input. Feel free to come up with one amongst yourselves though.

Nah well I think I have given my input already (no more TPE-banking, allow all first-year-pros to be sent down at the beginning at the season and everyone under 325 TPE to be sent down later in the season, second-year pros can be sent down if they are under 275-300 TPE, no carrying over of TPE to Recreates) so I'll just wait until you guys decide on something and let you know what I think then . Most of the ideas here have been pretty solid though so i think it'll go smoothly.

I still think we should blow it up and start a new league.
What happened to everyone begging the NWJHL to not allow people over 325 TPE? Crying when Heiss and SMith were being sent down begging for rule changes.

Good job to everyone involved! Maybe it's because some of the usual suspects stayed away from this thread most of the time ...
I have one question btw: I know that about 1-2 seasons ago there was the idea that SHL-teams who have already sent down their 3 players to the NWJHL could loan additional Rookies to other NWJHL-teams, who don't have their maximum of 6 sent-downs yet. Has this rule actually been implemented? Because I have been told it was, but I don't think I've ever seen it in action so far.

The problem with this is that send downs will ask to be called up.
Not sure I read OC's original post correctly though...
Fine then. Their GM doesn't have to. But it allows juniors to still get their playing time, ahead of send downs, so that they can still be interested in the league. Send downs don't have to play that much less, as long as they are on the second line (or behind an active junior, they can be on the first if their is no active junior behind them)
And, people keep calling me OC... I don't know why...

It was but never used by any GM as pretty much every team sends down everyone they can.

I 100 % agree that juniors should get the same if not more ice-time than send downs. Then there's also the GM side of me that doesn't want to lose our two best players because they aren't getting enough ice-time.
Sorry JP xD.

When I was going through the rulebook a few days ago, I noticed this was there. In my entire time in the NWJHL I hadn't seen it happen, and I'm not sure that all of the GMs were aware it was an option - I certainly wasn't.
It is still a rule though, according to the rulebook, but like you said I've never seen it in action.

Maybe we should bring it to attention then that this rule exists, because I'm sure that many NWJHL-GMs don't know about it. I remember some teams complaining about not being competitive because they had no send-downs, I'm pretty sure their GMs were not aware of this possibility.

It was only implemented last season, which is likely why you haven't seen it.
