JVR was a amazing pick up and probably gonna be the 2nd best trade next to the Gardiner/Lupul trade. I was shocked when we traded for him as I thought we would have to give up more than just Schenn for a player like JVR.

We have been lacking an natural power forward for years and JVR brings so much to the team. Burke made some great moves before he got fired, bringing in McClemment as well.

Kessel with the amazing backcheck! I love it! He's been doing that all year and is actually doing well defensively.

that's what I thought too. JVR was so highly-regarded coming into the NHL but he never quite got a chance to shine as the go-to guy in Phili. That was such an underrated acquisition, you never know he could turn out to be the Leafs' best forward, he looks as dangerous as Kessel if not more dangerous.

speaking strictly of value, the Leafs got a better deal for JVR than the Rangers got for Nash

Hes not the same player without his goals. He had 45 assists last year, solid number, but if he doesn't have the 37 goals how can he be expected to be THE guy. I've never thought he could be THE guy but I'm sure it's expected of him by fans and media.

ive been a huge fan of JVR for awhile now.
never thought Schenn was as good as Leafs fans made him out to be...he's solid, but JVR has potential to be a superstar

at least Burke won a couple trades
