I, Bob McKenzie ran my fat ass across a KFC parking lot to chase down Brodie Witzel. Brodie is the Co-GM of the Minnesota Chiefs and I obviously had to ask him some questions.

Hey, Brodie! Can I ask you a few questions?

Of course man!

Well, for starters: How well do you guys feel you did in the draft? Did you accomplish everything you set out to do?

We only had two picks in the entire draft, so we had to make them the right ones. We wanted to draft a forward in the first round, and go with a defender in the second, that worked out well. Winter was our main target, we worked really hard to get him, and we even had to trade up a bit in the second round to secure us Gene Parmesan. Both these guys fill holes that we were worried about, we are very happy with the outcome and couldnt be happier.

Yeah definitely. I really liked that Parmesean pick. He's pretty cheesy though. Ha get it? Yeah that wasn't funny. Moving along, why give up so much to trade up to 3rd Overall? Also, why David Winter when there were clearly better players on the board?

We were following Winter all season long. He is an offensive forward with a strong defensive game, which means he is a future 1st liner in our eyes, but right now he can play a two way role on the second/3rd line. He has some of the most cash out of all the juniors, hes active, and a class act. If we had 1st overall, Winter would still be one of our options. He wanted to be a Chiefs badly, and guys on our team wanted him just as bad, the fit was perfect.

I understand where you're coming from, but you probably could've gotten Winter a bit later. To each his own I guess. Next; Are the Chiefs done making moves this year, or are you guys still active in the trade/free agent market?

"There is always room for improvement, no matter how good you are. We are active in both the free agent market and the trade market at the moment. We are looking to fill a few hoes up front, and hope to address that by the end of the off-season. So to answer your question, we are still busy."

It's holes you illiterate hoe bag. Are you guys currently involved in any trade talks? If so, what for?

We are currently speaking with a few teams, however i cant reveal any details. As i said before, we have a couple holes up front that we are trying to fix, and possibly one of the back end, so we are looking for anyone who is willing to talk trades.

And last but not least, Rob Spezza is a pending FA; What do you guys plan to do with him? Are you looking to move him for the right package, or are you guys working on a long term extension?

His contract ends at the end of this season (S7), but hes not the only one. We have to worry about locking up Myers, Witzel, Miller, Turksa, Derringer, Spezza, Mortellaro and a couple more at the end of this year, which is going to be very difficult. However we are confident that all these guys want to stick around. Now as for Spezza. We are not open to trading him, he is a top line center with stellar offensive skills. We listen to all trade offers that are given to us, but that does not mean that person will be moved. We are looking to sign Spezza, and talks have already begun. Hopefully we can get him inked soon.
