I think i know why so many leafs fans overhype their prospects.
they simply have nothing better to do.
the actual hockey season is a disaster for them and they over compensate for it.

its kinda sad, but i guess if i had to watch the leafs i would want something to feel good about as well.

I'm missing your point? Every team goes through rebuilds, unfortunatly ours has been longer due to the fact that we have had some pretty shitty GM's. It's ok though. Burke fixed everything and the future for the leafs looks great.
