two great players for 8 seasons would still be better than two elite players for 2 seasons, you have to think of the future and Manhattan is taking a risk. D_A thinks he can re-sign them because no GM would give up those kinds of assets for a two-year rental. Guarantee it. I know what's in his head because I'm a GM and I said 'no thanks' when I heard they're on the block.
The reason I said that is because I don't like the odds of keeping them as they probably would go back with Ace, and with two first round picks out of the fold it would hurt my chances of keeping a dominant core together for the long-term.
There have been so many players in this league that have told their teammates "I'll be back with you guys soon! I'll come back as a Free Agent when my contract is up!" when they got traded, and almost none of them actually returned. Almost everyone changed his mind eventually after he acclimated in the new enviroment liked the locker room, the higher amount of playing time or the better chances at the cup, whatever the team that traded for him had to offer. People tend to think that the team they are currently on is the greatest one in the entire league and that none other can match this - until they somehow get on a new team and realize that other teams in the league can be just a fun.

Kurtis Hunter (Toast) when we dealt him to Minny to get Giova. He originally planned to return but ended up not doing it.

Well Oc - let me make a list for you
1) Wastlund
2) McBride
3) Martucci
4) Storm
5) Boomcheck
6) Myers
7) Seth (who plans on being back to his active self)
I think I am missing someone.... and then all of the new members that are ready to make a name for themselves.
I. Can't speak for the other recreats but I plan on working my ass of as hard as I did with Myers who retired with on,y 4 stats not 99. Two were fighting and Faceoffs which as a D I don't need. The other 2 are 90-91 Disipline and Penalty shot. I enjoy building guys which is the only reason I retired Myers

This. I don't know how other people plan on building but I don't plan on slacking with Potoczny. I plan on doing every PT, train every week and being just as active as I was with Wastlund, maybe even more as I plan on doing a play by play atleast one a week maybe even two.
