We've had 2 in a decade lmao
lol exactly, and no one can deny this is going to be the most successful winter classic ever because the Leafs are in it. Great original six rivalry, the centre of the hockey universe playing in it, the game is played in Hockey Town USA, it's gonna set a world attendance record for hockey.

the NHL isn't stupid, this is going to be its biggest cash grab ever. PLUS fans have had to wait TWO years now, which means double the anticipation and hype.

I dunno it'll probably be the most successful money wise but I definitely was looking forward to the 2011 Winter Classic much more. Ovie vs Crosby at the height of their popularity AND both teams were both really good back then. Now Detroit's still good but not nearly as good as with Lidstrom (Nor do I think they're still gonna be a top team next season) and the Leafs are making great strides. But having the top 2 teams in that conference at the time facing off was special.

Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

LMAO like they would go with St. Pats for the winter classic, this team is blue and white to the roots. also snappy what's the point in a winter classic indoors, remove the habs glasses

indoors? The Olympic Stadium has a tarp roof, they can remove it.

are you sure it won't fall apart? I've been there several times and it's archaic lol. also for the Rogers Centre it has to be a certain temperature for the roof to be open. Pretty sure Olympic Stadium couldn't handle frigid temperatures with an open roof..

These two jerseys are the best I've ever seen AINEC.

They should wear them all the time.

Leafs get the edge though for best of all time because it looks sharper.

the thing is that the Rogers Centre is mechanical. The Roof would freeze open or freeze shut. Since the Olympic Stadium is Kevlar Tarp it would be difficult to open but possible in winds under 45km/h. Even though the capacity is too low (lower than the Bell Centre) it could be held at Saputo stadium.

EDIT: The Stadium is closed to event in the winter as per a news article.

You stole it from the Spaniards, who used it from Soccer. Plus it really has no substance or meaning it's just annoying. It's like if we just started making car alarm noises to ramp our team up.

what about infrastructure though, if it's not meant to be an outdoor stadium could the building manage temperatures of way below 0?
