Once again the Montreal Impact and the Kelowna Knights have made a blockbuster trade! I am glad to welcome back former captain of the Impact Taron and one of the most respected gms in the NWJHL Fever to Montreal! Both of these players could have been 1st overall picks in any other NWJHL draft and im so pumped to add both of these elite players to our lineup. They both are among the top leaders in tpe for this draft class and should make a huge impact here in Montreal.
I feel as though this move puts Montreal over the top as the cup favourites as we got seven forward now who are over 200 tpe and we fix up our weakness on the back end adding arguably the best defenseman in this draft class.
I know I got a lot of criticism the last time the Impact traded away our first round pick but if you look at the end result of that trade over the last two seasons I feel as though we came out on top. Without a first and second round pick we were able to make two finals appearances and win the cup. With the luxury of our great send downs the Impact will still be able to be competitive over the next few seasons while making a strong push for the cup this season.
I want to thank fever for these easy negotiations as always and I look forward to coaching these two elite players in Montreal. After making the finals for three straight seasons I hope to make it a fourth and complete the task of winning back to back cups which has not been done since the S2 and S3 knights.
