Richards to be bought out?
#1

Great possibility this happens, that contract is crazy. Once again Rangers sign a top end free agent to a high contract and they kill him. Add him to the pile with Redden, Gomez (They signed the contract), Drury, and now Richards. Anyone else im forgetting? Im sure there is more players that got killed in NYC.

Looks like he isnt even getting much ice time also. Brassard and Stepan outplaying him.

Anyways. I see Leafs signing him if he gets bought out. 2 Years @4.0 - 5.0 Mil Per Year. I rather give Richards this than Bozak.

Brad Richards is a jobber. Come to Toronto after you get bought out and Phil Kessel will save you.

It's gotta be the coaching or system or something for all these players to do this.

I mean Gomez and Redden are still useful once they moved on (Gomez had some rough years in Montreal)

I bet Richards will still be good if he does move on as well. It's really odd

I don't think they will buy him out. He's still an All-Star caliber player. Give him the off-season to reset and refocus and see what happens next year. Also, I think it's cheaper for the Rangers to keep him under contract than buy him out, but I could be wrong about that.

Compliance buyouts. I think that's what they are called. Basically free from the cap.

I rather get Bozak for that, then what the Oilers pay for Horcoff. They are very similar in style

Sorry to say Dion but not everyone wants to play for Toronto, anyway I doubt they buy him out, can see alot of teams offering for him if he were otb but he needs to play an 82 game season, I think a season without training camp really affected him.

he was invisible against the caps all series long, it's not just that he's overpaid, he's also downright horrible.

which is why he's a healthy scratch tonight.

.74 P/G during the regular season. Downright horrible guys.

He's in a slump, he's not worth his pricetag, and he clearly doesn't fit the Rangers system. But to call him horrible is laughable.

If he is bought out, a team will likely try to outbid the others by giving him around 6m.

right now he is downright horrible.
he is not a downright horrible player tho.

it would make sense for them to buy him out tho because of the compliance buy out.
Toronto would actually make alot of sense for him to.
he would get to play with Kessel and JVR/Lupul.
i could see it happening

Richards isn't horrible he's just entirely over rated. He's not a top ten center in the league like people made him out to be

Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

If he gets bought out and a team signs him for 3.5 to 4 millions, it will be a steal.

I blame Torts more than Brad. He doesn't let his offensive stars be offensive stars.
