Signing autographs for the fans before heading back to his home country of France.

Firebirds Defenseman Gabriel DuJardin will be absent when the draft takes place on June 28th.

"I will be out of North America. I will not be back until mid July. I am taking a little time to myself."

With the news that DuJardin will be gone from the SHL until after the season starts comes the possibility that he should miss signing his first contract, thus making him ineligible to play in the SHL.

"My client will be on an important family trip and GMs and Scouts will be unable to contact him very shortly. This will also lead to him not being able to sign his contract unless a GM wants to go to the Bermuda Triangle or wherever he's going."- Eoghan O'Donnell.

With the draft slated to take place on the 28th, DuJardin will be one of, if not the only prospect missing. He will also miss the start of training camp and the season as he will not be back until after July 10th.

"I could check on my phone how everything is going, but I will not sign a contract until I get back. If it scares some GM, then so be it."

gonna be a shame that one of the best player's in teh draft won't be there.
