S14 Call-Ups and Send Downs

So is this rule ever actually going to be used? Seemed pretty black and white when it was implemented a few seasons ago...

Also, before it gets asked -- yes, players in the SMJHL can continue to post their updates once they reach 325 TPE, but they are not to be updated until they are called up to the SHL.

Ssh Donini, you can be asked to not be updated

Pretty sad how black and white this is and now we've had 3 cases where it hasn't been upheld

I feel better about this the more Buster/Detroit cry about it tbh.

Sick man! I'm just saying we should enforce a clear rule that was laid down seasons ago!

It's pretty black and white that if a player isn't updated at 325 while in SHL, there is nothing that can be done.

So yes, a player can request to not be updated and then come back down. As long as things don't change in the sim, it's allowed.

Hence why JP and I are working to make the rule that if a player is called up, they get auto-updated.

This discussion is about when exactly that rule will be imputed. Not about improper enforcing of a rule.

Buster weren't you saying that you wanted us to get Riggs back? Its easy to say things but its apparently hard to uphold them

I said I didn't want to beat you guys without him. A rule is still a rule though. Rules should be upheld, but apparently not Rolleyes

Accept your opportunity to do what you wanted then?

Accept the fact that there is actually a rule against this that should be upheld?

That's irrelevant to the fact that for a 3rd time in 2 seasons, a black and white rule as been broken and has completely lost in legitmacy? We won't be able to "implement" this rule next season because if this situation happens again, it's pretty easy to point to 3 cases where this black and white rule as been broken Tongue

But you set a new clear standard you can easily ignore precedents since you changed the rule. It eliminates all previous cases of it.

Actually no it doesn't. It's going to cause a giant shitstorm because whoever it happens too will point to how it's unfair to screw over their season when MTL got Reimer back, 44 came back and Riggs came back. So actually, those cases will be more relevant than ever

How bout this guys? Everyone just stop talking about it. There is a rule and we've been told before Riggs wouldn't be allowed back. Then it was changed. We have a legitimate reason to gripe. However, you guys got screwed over with this and have your own reason to gripe. There is no winning argument, so there is no reason to argue. It's done.
