S15 CW WEEK! ITS FINALLY HERE!

Complete bulls hit from me :D

1. Basicly LUCK! For winning president trophy need strong team - a lot of active players, a lot of done point tasks. That is main thing in regular season championship. Challenge cup Play-offs are different anyone can beat anybody. Player who was strong like demi-hockey God in season can now be mortal and any mistake individually is mistake for team …. So best ideas to win cup?? Every team member must do all these silly stuff: Don’t shave, don’t change socks, When read translation – keep crossed fingers, go to next observatory in night and try to find falling star (you guys know what to need be wished :D)

3.

MUHAHAHAHAHA, I know them :D

4.

Of course Edmonton! I even don’t know where is West Kendall (I can bet the name is tricky and location is actually in east) I’d never bought club even don’t knowing it’s location :D I think Edmonton have bigger hockey aura, experience. West Kendall were just lucky to get in finals, actually same for Blizzards and very good 2nd time in 3 last years. In my policy of team luck I will need players who would be ready to don’t change socks and etc. stuff. Talking about picks … I don’t care them, I’m not more thinking guy but opposite one, that who is doing. So better bought in my eyes would be Blizzard fellas. Their goalie is real best, that’s good. Keenan too … and others who names where Finnish or Swedish … most like Finnish. I like Finland Smile About more in roster – there is relative of Barack Obama. That would create better fan attention Smile If I had money I’d bought some Jacuzzi for them … Edmonton is cold climate and I think ice in arena is warmer than air in winter outside. These player should somehow warm up. Or option two – bought enforcer for team, that would heat up team :D LOL May be young Mike Brown back to Edmonton?

5.

I haven’t lived in city, I’m real country side boy :D There are 2 connected cities/ town for me. 1st would be visited … Latvian capital city – RIGA!!! It’s our country heart that’s way I would bring even there and there would be better to get around people. So this text may be can read by latvian so won’t tell any possible route because I don’t know city streets :D But things like Monument of freedom (Bŗivības piemineklis), Arena Riga of course, bridges (South bridge is most expensive built bridge in whole Europe :D). Brīvības piemineklis is one of the most holy Latvian freedom symbol. It would honor for me if I could pass round with trophy which would write my name in Latvian history. Most like my home town is Tukums and there are even arena and local people are hockey fans too but there no other interesting visit places … except fountain… and one good café … that’s all :D. But getting offroad I’d like pass to my born country side Ravi … there were all my childhood and first hockey attempts on ponds Smile

1. For the Edmonton Blizzard, the main thing is to have all lines firing on all cylinders. They have tremendous depth on their team and if every line is playing great, they can overpower the West Kendall Platoon. They had the best record in the regular season and have been playing well in the playoffs. If they can get balanced scoring from all lines and have the defensemen chip in as well, I don’t see how they can lose the series.

As for the Platoon, the main thing that needs to be working is goaltending. Urijah Winnfield needs to be at the top of his game if the Platoon want to get past the Blizzard. The Blizzard score a ton of goals and Winnfield needs to keep his team in games and steal some. Winnfield has been having a great playoff campaign so far and he needs to keep it up for the Platoon to come out on top.

4. If I was able to choose one of these franchises to purchase, I would probably go with the West Kendall Platoon. Both franchises are in great positions, but I choose the Platoon because I feel they will be better going forward. They have stocked up on a lot of young talent and are still going to have good picks in the future with some smart moves by GM Maxy. The Platoon have been going through a long and grueling rebuild that is finally coming to an end. They have had some tough times with players not wanting to play for the team, but I believe the team is turning around. With emerging stars such as Emma Watson and Urijah Winnfield, the team is heading in the right direction.

It’s always good to win, but being built for the future is equally important. Also, with the roster the Platoon has, not only will they be good for the future, but they’re also a team that is ready to win, filled with players who are hungry for the championship. They are tired of being the bottom feeders, this is the perfect attitude for a team and something that’s very attractive if you had to choose a team to purchase.

5. I was fortunate enough to win the Challenge Cup as a member of the Hamilton Steelhawks with Martucci, but if I won it now and was named MVP, I would be ecstatic to bring the trophy back home. The first place I’d bring the cup to would be to my neighbourhood where I grew up. There are a ton of kids around and it’s where I started playing hockey. Running around in the streets with friends and chasing the ball when it went too far. I’d then take it to the local arena where I first signed up for registered hockey and took my first steps on the ice as a little kid. That way anybody in the area could come to the arena with their kids and have the opportunity to take pictures with the cup and myself. Lastly, I’d bring the cup home. That way I could spend time with family and friends and enjoy the victory with the people closest to me and the ones who always supported me.

Task #1:
For the Edmonton Blizzard, they need Willie Weber to step up his game like he did in the regular season, the big defenceman ended up with 49 points in 50 games, so far thru 15 gamers he has yet to score and a -1.
The team needs him to be a bigger player for them, the team has given more minutes expecting him to do alot better offensively, he has been good on defence throwing 25 hits and 20 blocked shots, they can still match him up against top line players and he will shut them down big time.

The Platoon's Emma Watson stepped it up big time for playoffs, scoring 10 goals in 14 games. He was over a PPG, he has been their best forward in these playoffs, his only problem has been in the faceoff circle, he is under 50%. For them to win it, they need their centers to step it up in the faceoff circle, especially Watson. (160 Words)

Task #4:
I would pick the West Kendall Platoon, the team has gone thru a big rebuild and are in the challenge cup finals with great young pieces, as their pieces develop the team can only get better. Guys like Hoff, Tutankamun, Winnfield, Hoff, Bolt and Lahey are really young guys who will get better every year, they are surrounded by guys like Turska/Marshall/Grossmann and Malyckyj who are leaders both on and off the ice. Having a good mix of veterans and youth always tend to lead to great things, GM Jon Maxfield put in a good plan for the Platoon. Not only are they solid in net with Urijah Winnfield, they have a solid defensive core helping him out, he has truly broken out of his shell and is on the road to become one of the best the game has seen. He has accomplished everything asked of him and more, he is the biggest reason why the Platoon have made it this far, the team has been terrible for years and this season has been way different
and the fans are clearly happy with their result. The Platoon will be threat, this is a fact and this why I would buy them over the Blizzard (204 Words)

1 - The Edmonton Blizzard was one of the favorites coming into the season and it is no surprise to see them in the Challenge Cup Finals. Their keys to victory are the same as they have been all season: forward depth, high-end defensive skill, and solid goaltending. Top to bottom, they are the strongest team in the league and the ‘safe money’ bet.

The West Kendall Platoon, on the other hand, are definitely a surprise entrant. Unfortunately for them, their best chance to win would have been trading for impending retirees Christoph Klose and Jason Due of the Seattle Riot. Rumors were floating around all season about potential destinations for the high-powered duo, and one such rumor was that Platoon GM Maxfield wasn’t sure that they were ready to compete for the Cup.

3 - PM sent

4 - If, in some inexplicable twist of ironic fate, the two teams in the SHL’s Challenge Cup finals were both put up for sale, the choice is clear which to purchase: The Edmonton Blizzard. While the West Kendall Platoon have a younger team and a boatload of picks in the upcoming drafts, it makes much more sense to purchase the known quantity instead of the potential jackpot.
With the Blizzard, you have instantaneous depth and success. Edmonton tore through the regular season and the playoffs alike, occasionally straight-up decimating their opponents en route to the trophy. West Kendall barely squeaked into the playoffs and while they should be expected to be there again next season, they went on a bit of a Cinderella run to even get to the Finals. No offense to Platoon General Manager John Maxfield or the team, but this was the least surprising Challenge Cup playoff conclusion I’ve seen in many years.
The Blizzard have half a dozen franchise players adorning their roster and absolutely insane defensive depth, from Mike Ochocinco to Willie Weber. Up front, Ivo Willems and Kyle Keenan are the big names, both coming from Manhattan in the last offseason. Their starting goaltender, Jakob Atikkilatotilllitoto, should be nicknamed The Hammer, for not so obvious reasons. Ask him and he’ll explain what The Hammer is.

5 - Challenge Cup winner and playoff MVP. Brilliant! I honestly can say I never thought that would happen. Thanks to my team for their support and their willingness to put me in a position to succeed. I couldn’t have done it without you guys.

Now that the playoffs are over, it’s time to nurse some aches and pains. My plan is to head home for a while, maybe hit up some of my old favorites around the Buffalo, New York area. There’s the Buffalo Zoo, which is great fun and brings back a lot of memories. I like to see the aminals. After that, I’ll stop by Red Robin for some lunch, then probably head over to visit my old pal Howie at Braymiller Lanes in downtown Hamburg. Spent a lot of time growing up there and had my highest bowling score ever at that place. Dinner at Pizza Plant. Gotta love that jalapeño-stuffed Tofu Torch Pod.

1. Edmonton Blizzard- I think that if the Blizzard just come out and do their thing it is their game to lose. They need to stay focused on both ends of the ice, especially defense. If they give up about 25 shots per game or less, I see there being no problem as to who wins.

West Kendall Platoon- The Platoon squadron needs to get a serious boost in offense if they wish to win this series. If they can score about 3 goals per game, they may be able to get some wins with protection around Winnifield. They are all here their first time and need to cool their nerves.

2.

3.

4. If I had the option as to which franchise I would buy, it would definitely be the West Kendall Platoon for a number of reasons. The most definite reason is because the West Kendall Platoon have such a young core of players and that would make it a great purchase because they seem pretty suited to be good for a very long time in the league. ALso, who doesn't like the great place of West Kendall? And you get to be on a Platoon with a group of hockey players? Sign me up to buy these clowns right now! WIth an up-and-coming goalie in Urijah Winnifield, I would love to be able to purchase this team and build around him. Not to mention, this team has a very nice core around him with the likes of Jim Lahey and Ammom Tutahnkamman being right their with him to develop a strong core. Emma Watson, the veteran of this team, is also a great player when paired up with Mark Malyjyck they create a nice foundation of leadership. I would buy the Platoon because they have a great chance of contdending for a long time and I think that they will be the future champions of the SHL.

5. I'm the Challenge Cup MVP? Oh my days this is exciting! I have worked so hard for this and now I get to go home to my home town and take a victory tour. I love my life!

When I go home I plan on first going to my old high school and seeing Coach Modano. He thought me everything that I know about hockey and made me into the very defenseman that I am today. It would be great to celebrate with him. Next, I would go to the McDonald's that Jordie and I used to hang out with. It was the best place with a lot of memories that are dear to me! After that I would go to the local hockey rink where I praticed every day. This place meant the world to me and was the best place I ahd ever been to. The last place would be my house and I would go to my room and celebrate if you know what I mean.

5. How exciting! Playoff MVP! My mother, who gave up so much to make my dreams come true would be the first one I would have to visit, after I take a plane with the Cup from Seattle to Prague, Czech Republic.

The Prague Castle is easily the greatest sight you can find in the Czech Republic, in my opinion anyways. With my childhood friends, I would venture to the highest of the Castle I was allowed to go (probably on a balcony) and rise the cup for the adoring fans.

To conclude the day, I will go to Alexandr's, a local diner on the west side of town. It reminds me of my humble up bringing, and how not everyone was always fabulous and high class, in fact nothing was. I would take some pictures with the staff that I knew in my childhood, and just like old times, nestle in for my favorite, potato soup.

Task #1: For the West Kendall Platoon, stopping the dynamic Edmonton Blizzard offense comes down to goaltending. Urijah Winnfield must be stellar between the pipes for the Platoon to try and contain Edmonton. While West Kendall has a solid defensive unit, on paper they are overmatched. Winnfield needs to carry the team to a title. On the other hand, Edmonton needs to be able to get scoring from three lines, similar to what they did just two seasons ago when they last won the Challenge Cup. The Blizzard have elite talent, but their bread and butter has always been getting production from all three forward lines as well as the blueline. (111 Words).

Task #3 WORD JUMBLE!!! PM'd

Task #4: If I had the money to buy one of the teams participating in the Challenge Cup, the West Kendall Platoon or the Edmonton Blizzard, I would choose the Edmonton Blizzard. Even if I had to choose between any of the twelve franchises in the entire SHL, I would still choose the Edmonton Blizzard. The mix of young talent and veteran talent is unparalleled by any other franchise in the SHL. The Blizzard have elite talent such as Lucas Smith, Kyle Keenan, Willie Weber and Jacob Aittokallio, all of whom are in the primes of their careers. Edmonton also has talents such as Laraque Obama, Cole Reinhart and Reggie Williams in the tail ends of their careers, but they have young talent such as Belial, Mikhail Krivokrasov and Riko Muerto. The Blizzard will experience no transition from the veterans to the young kids, as the prospects have the ability to be eased into the lineup without being thrown to the fire in roles that are over their heads. With all due respect to the Platoon, who have one of the top young cores in the SHL, the Edmonton Blizzard have a core that will compete for the next five seasons without experiencing any kind of a drop off. Task #5 Obviously I was the MVP if my team won the Challenge Cup, because my player is a beast and I'm the best there is. If I won the Cup, I would bring it back to Mother Russia with me and share it with the people of my home country. Since I will be the best player on my team, I will get the cup first because I'm a beauty. I would first gather up my family from North America and take them with me back to the homeland. I'll hop on a plane straight from Edmonton and head to Red Square in Russia, where people will flock in from all around because I'm a Russian national hero. If I even get the chance to get out of the flock of people in Red Square, I would go to the Kremlin and steal a tank and drive it throughout the town. That'd be cool. (153 Words)

TASK #1

Edmonton Blizzard - consistency. They're absolute favorites out there for me in the finals as they've been winning teams confidently and for fun in the regular season. However, consistency will play a huge part here, they've been quite fragile during the play-off series as they had hard PO series against both Calgary and Winnipeg.

West Kendall Platoon - luck, work rate. They will have to be willing to work harder every second on ice. And not only that - luck will also be needed. Having had a not really convincing regular season they find themselves 30 points apart from Edmonton but we can't have to write them off yet. If they have the winning spirit, true work rate every second, if they fight for every opportunity they get they might come out on top. Nevertheless, most important performances will be the league's top forward's Emma Watson's and goaltenders Winnfield's form in the finals.

TASK #4

Edmonton Blizzard are one of the top teams out there. They have a good depth to their squad, players which make the ultimate all-round team which can perform good in all parts of the game - goaltending, defence, face-offs, passing plays and shooting. This season they are the team everybody wants to have - winning spirit, consistency in the regular season, top prospects in the SHL. They seem to be natural born champions of the Challenge Cup. Having said that, I'd buy West Kendal Platoon. They have the top forward out here, a true winning player who is born to win and work hard. With the right work in trainings and good tactics a good coach could get even better results out from Watson. Accompanied with the very consistent defenceman Malyckyj, who has been mostly faultless and a great performer week-in week out, it will just need some changes, fresh faces, which have truly great potential, a few trades to shape up the weaker sides of the team and we have our next champions. Of course, that would be a long-term plan but definitely one to work out well and bring the results wanted for both fans, board and players.

Naturally born in Dobele - I wouldn't have many places to show people, I thought. Population of 10000, one museum. And this is where it hit me - the rural landscapes. I would definitely show everyone around places where I spent my childhood years - the great rural sights in Zemgale, the region of agriculture in Latvia. My old grandparents' farm in Bukaisi, just 5 kilometers from Lithuania's border and completely away from any town and noise. The place where I used to do my morning jogs and the nearby lake where I did the indvidual trainings on improving my shooting skills. Didn't know then that I'd become a defender back then. I would also have to show off the historical places Tervete castle mound where the Semgalians - Latvian ancestors fought against the crusaders in 12th and 13th century. The Battle Of Saule museum and a history lesson when one of the most important battles were won against the very stronger and more advanced Sword-Brothers.

Task #1: Going into the Simulation Hockey League Final both teams played well and deserves to be there. Both teams have strong Scoring, Defense and Goaltending but as teams goes there are always flaws but between these two teams there will be somethings that will be hard to depict. In terms of edges I believe that the Edmonton Blizzard will rule the scoring category better than the West Kendal Platoons. That is why They will have to step up their offense just a little more to match Edmontons Strong Offense. The West Kendal Platoon I believe will have the better Defense which will be key in this series more than anything. They will have to work hard to shut down Edmontons Offense but I believe they can if they put enough work into it. Goaltending wise I believe it is pretty even. Both teams have outstanding goaltending and both will go down in history as be entered into the HOF. This series will be fantastic.

Task #4: If I could afford one of these two Franchises I would select the Edmonton Blizzard. Hockey Wise Edmonton is an Ideal spot for a hockey team. They have crazy fans, and one of the best marketable places in the world. Money would not be a problem in Edmonton and as I see it, it will not be a problem in the future. With Player wise Edmonton is just purely stacked. Great players ranging from Kyle Keenan to Michael Haan the list just goes on. They have home grown players and players acquired from trading, and people from the off season. Everyone came to Edmonton because they knew it is a great place and probably one of the better places to play hockey in. They also knew that Edmonton had the best chances at winning the Challenge Cup. Draft pick wise, they barely have any. Only 2 fifth round draft picks this year. But If I bought Edmonton I would try my very hardest to re sign all these players for another 2-3 years until picks start coming back, Who Needs picks when they have a stacked roster like this? A rebuild will eventually happen when players start leaving and retiring but Edmonton will always be back in the top spot in about 2-3 years.
[214 Words]

Task #5: I would visit these places;
My school because that is where most of my motivation come from, It would also inspire kids that no matter what you can do whatever you want if you put your mind to it. That would be a great feeling. The kids will be so excited that a Player from a small town really can make a difference in the world.
I would also go to my best friends house who stayed out really late at night with me on the ponds just skating and skating until one of us got so cold that we couldnt feel the hockey stick in our hands anymore then we knew it was time to give up and go home. My friends was a big influence on my Career and I am glad he is still my friend to this day.
I would also go see my parents of course they have been the main influence on me. Growing up we werent a very wealthy family but my parents bought me a pair of skates when I was 3 and continued doing so until I was 14. By then I was already max height and weight so it was no worry about anything else.
And Last but not least my babe. She has been my number one. Travelling with and without me. Her going into Business this year is very very great. She will celebrate with me and I will be happy to finally say I am home for this off season.

Task #1:

1. For West Kendall is pretty simple, continue doing what your doing. Theyve had the odds stacked against them in every series and continue to shove the middle finger into the bookies face. I think it's vital they get a lot of pressure on the Edmonton goaltender early and often, because I don't think they are built to make third period runs, its gonna be score early or lose, because once Jacob Aittoklaio gets in a groove, they can kiss their chance of winning goodbye. West Kendall has been the cinderella story this season and continue to defy the odds, however they no longer have the element of surprise, because I can guarantee you Edmonton will be taking appropriate measures to not underestimate them.

2. For the Edmonton Blizzard, they just need to put West Kendall in their place early, like first game early. Kill their spirits and remind them who they really are. If their able to kill the Platoon's mojo, they should roll in this series. I believe another key element for the Blizzard taking this championship is netminder Jacob Aittokalio- as long as they are able to keep him steady in net and keep the Platoon from getting goals on the board early, they should coast.

Task #4:
- I would purchase the Seattle Riot, then promptly move them to Washington and become the Washington Mericans. Why would I choose Seattle? Simple, they have Daniel Merica, the soon to be greatest American player in SHL history and I would want to be able to say I was apart of his rise to domination. This league needs a patriotic team, and what better option then the team with Daniel Merica? Well, there is no other option. I would set him up good, I would tell the league to fuck off and stop calling my office to take disciplinary action on his antics, because thats who he is and thats the reputation he has built. Also because GoB is awesome and I think it would be ironic if I owned the team his player was on. I would pull rank all the time, I'd make him get me my coffee every morning and be my little errand boy. Simply because I can. So in summary, I'd take Seattle because they have Merica and because I'd have my own personal fridge bitch with Dustin Rose. So as you can see, it would be a straight up win-win situation to own Seattle, besides, they have the greatest fans ever as well, I mean, who doesn't like a fanbase that is so crazy they put Philadelphia to shame?

Task #5:
- Well, if I was the MVP, good grief you better warn Seattle P.D. that a party of epic proportions is on its way. I would take that Challenge Cup first to Toronto, where I would sneer in the faces of the Canadians and make sure they knew that an American franchise was the champions. After I made them feel amply terrible about themselves and even more angry, I would then take it on down to the Awesome States Of America and to Seattle, where I would go out to the bars and clubs every night and let all our amazing fans get a nice look and maybe, if your a hot babe, to touch it. Only registered American citizens would be allowed in sight, green card checks would be done, no illegal aliens would be allowed to enjoy our victory. Then I would take it to Dallas, Texas and continue celebrating and partying, because no state is more American then Texas. After that, I would make a final stop in our nation's capitol and bask in the glory of American dominance. This is, of course, all after I declined to visit to the White House, for obvious reasons. I would also visit whatever scrub city we just pasted for the championship and do my best to start fights.
