if we can beat england we should be pretty much through ![]() Registered S22 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by Donini13@Dec 6 2013, 05:31 PM I'd be more worried about Uruguay than England. ![]() Registered Posting Freak Quote:Originally posted by Abdeezy@Dec 6 2013, 04:33 PM 2 teams advance, we beat one of Uruguay or England and we're through unless Costa Rica pulls off some kind of miracle. ![]() Registered S8, S9, S14, S20, S21 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by Snappy@Dec 6 2013, 04:09 PM Yeah, what ever your background is. I've always supported Ukraine on the international stage, but they got done dirty by France...
I'll throw my support behind England I guess. Super Frankie Lampard going to add a World Cup to his trophy cabinet. ![]() Registered S38 Challenge Cup Champion
US got a truly brutal group.
I think we actually match up best with Portugal. Outside of Ronaldo their Starting 11 isn't any better than ours is. But obviously Ronaldo is >> than anything we have. Everyone has said we shouldnt have a problem with Ghana since 2006 now and I'm still waiting for us not to have a problem with Ghana. And Germany is Germany. Ugh. ![]() Graphic Graders S11 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by Dooley@Dec 7 2013, 12:27 AM Portugal's starting 11 is full of some pretty great players, I don't see how the US team matches up with them tbh. I've always loved the German team and I'll be watching them closely, even though I'll be supporting Italy. ![]() Registered S38 Challenge Cup Champion Quote:Originally posted by Otrebor13@Dec 7 2013, 12:43 AM Never said it wasn't, but I think the US matches up just fine. Howard is a Top EPL tendy and Dempsey, Altidore, Bradley, Donovan, Jones, Cherundolo, have all been successful in Top 4 leagues/European Comps. We're significantly worse on defense but all in all, I don't think Portugal's lineup badly outmatches ours at all. ![]() Registered S22 Challenge Cup Champion
Portugal's line up has guys like;
Joao Moutinho Miguel Veloso Pepe Bruno Alves Fabio Coentrao Nani Raul Meireless That are all better than nearly anyone the states have, Portugal has the talent to be a top team but often just don't have the head on their shoulders ![]() Registered S7, S22 Challenge Cup Champion
Portugal struggles to play as a unit sometimes, however. I think Portugal will beat the US, but the US has a good chance.

I don't see USA winning a game in this group, people are really underestimating Ghana.
