Knight’s Not Going Away without a Fight</div>

At the beginning of the SMJHL season a lot of the “experts” wrote off the Knights to finish last in the Western Conference and through at least the first 12 or so games the Knights have shown a lot of fight and have refused to go away.

The Knights captain Matej Stransky and alternate captains Jean Pierre Leroux and Quentyn Blackfyre have been rallying the troops to the cause, however it more than them that have emerged as leaders on this team. Sterling Slade the second season goalie has been inspirational to the Knights early success boasting one of the best goals against averages in the league, while second round draftee Chara Brojled has shown why they were drafted and boasts a team best shooting percentage at 23 percent.

“A lot of us are learning the SMJHL style of game in our first season, including myself, Leroux and Brojled, so it’s nice to have Sterling and Quentyn be there to help us learn the systems and become better players. I can’t say enough for Sterling’s play this season, its giving us an opportunity every night and we know we are never out of any game with him in net and Jean Pierre and Chara have taken off right out of the gate, it’s really impressive. As for me, I have struggled a little, but I knew I would adjusting to this system, however I know I will shine in the second half of the season, when it matters most and we push for a playoff spot.”

As the Knights work on their consistency they currently sit in second place in the Western Conference with 13 points and a .500 record.
