We have Johnny Dollaz of the Winnipeg Jets here and have a few questions for him. How did it feel to be drafted into the SHL?

JD: All I can say is I made it! I have waited my whole life for this, I tried my hardest every day and practiced everyday of my life to make this opportunity happen. And now to have my name be mentioned with some of the greats in the game today makes me feel honored.

How do you feel about being drafted in the second round?

JD: I was projected to go late 1st early 2nd and thats what happened, I didn't think I would be a first round pick with all the talent coming from the NWJHL, but to go early in the second round to a great franchise like the Winnipeg Jets is an honor to me.



We watched you a lot in the NWJHL and you led the Whalers in scoring and were named captain at one point, what can you bring to the table for the Jets?

JD: I am not a guy who is big into stats, I am more into getting my team the Win and playing my hardest for 3 periods, night in and night out. I rather put up bad stats in a victory over a 5 point night in a loss any day of the week. I can provide some leadership to the team and I strive off my teammates, when we are doing good the team will do good.

Are you excited to go to Winnipeg and the great hockey fans in the city?

JD: Winnipeg is an area of die hard hockey fans and the Jets is such a great franchise. I am thrilled to be playing there for the next few seasons, I have met some of the guys so far, and our GM seems to be one of the greatest in the game if not the best GM in the whole entire SHL. I am honored to be playing for them and can't wait to lace up the skates and get the season going.

What is your expectations for the team this season?

JD: Same thing I want every year, a championship, I don't want to play the game for just fun which is awesome, but all in all we are all here for one reason and that is to win the cup! The GM has built such a great team that I feel we can do it this year and for the next few years, that is not a guarantee but more of a proposition and how good I feel this team can be.
