Dummy Players
#1

I have a suggestion for the upcoming NWJHL-season. I think most people agree that allowing EEL-players into the NWJHL last season wasn't a very good idea. In juniors the focus should lie on the junior-players, but most likely the NWJHL will once again need players to fill out the rosters this year. I think a good way to ensure that teams have full rosters, but that will still allow the junior players to be in the spotlight, would be dummy-players.
Every SHL-player would be allowed to create another player for the NWJHL, but then have no control over him anymore. They could build this player like every other junior builds his player, but this player can't receive any training, neither in camp or individually, and just stays the same all year. I'd also suggest not to give SHLers locker-room access, let it be a juniors thing. Those dummy-players will then be distributed in the second draft, pretty much like the EELers last year. Through these players, SHLers will still have a connection to the NWJHL and may follow it more closely, while the Juniors can still dominate if they have a good build and do their training and PTs regularly.

Thoughts?

I say we recruit before we get into any ideas like this. From a GM perspective I am not a fan, I don't see why we can't just go back to recruiting and filling out the rosters with CPUs unless we need a lot (We should get to name them doe).

Keeps the focus solely on the NWJHL players and no one else.

Obviously recruiting always has to come first. I'll be happy if we don't need any of these dummy players because we have so many recruits Smile
