S50 is rearing it's ugly head, looking at us with those beady eyes that say, “hey, you might have the most TPE you’ve ever had but you’re gonna have a shit season bud. Haha ur a stupud idiote.” Fuck you too Simon.
Anyways the S43 was a spectacular one, with steals and busts and rises and falls. They are now just starting to take over the league with scoring prowess and goaltending greatness, and this squad should surely be able to contend with the best of them here.

The Roster

Tony Pepperoni

had a true breakout year for the Blizz en route to his second cup victory. As the old guard continues to age on the Blizzard, Pepperoni leads the youth movement and has become a superstar in Edmonton. A steal of a pick at 25, Pepperoni will continue to be an amazing talent for the blizzard over the coming decade. @"tommysalami"

Jax Aittokallio Rage

had a career year on the Rage as he continues to grow into one of the league’s top talents. At nearly a point per game, Aittokallio shredded the opponent’s defense and was a true leader on the ice for them. They are inching ever towards contender status with a trip to the conference finals this season, and they are still a very young team, with s43 stars like Aittokallio leading the charge. @JayWhy

Alex Winters Rage

is another s43 star that had his best year yet on the Rage. A talented forward who can do it all, Winters has grown a lot since his ROTY season and will soon be one of the most talented forwards in the league without a doubt. He is integral to this new Rage core and will terrorize the Eastern Conference for seasons to come. @39alaska39

Nicholas Williams

is an excellent leader for the Specters and plays a true team role. Winning the cup with the Jets before moving on from them, he now plays for one of the most exciting up and coming teams in the SHL. As the vets on the team hang up the skates, Williams finds himself with more responsibility, but he takes it in stride as he plays a complete 200 foot game. Williams prides himself in his good defensive play and ability to forecheck and backcheck to eliminate scoring chances. As the younger members of the squad continue to grow through experience, Williams will be someone they look up to to teach them how to play that good ol’ North American hockey. @Nictox

Max Mauldin

has been growing into his role with the Panthers, and is finally showing off his talent as an elite scoring forward in the SHL. He sets up plays to his linemates all day and racks up points, slicing and dicing through defense and leading his team on and off the ice. Mauldin will soon be a superstar in this league and hopefully lead the Panthers on a cup run or two in the process. @Wasty

Phillip Winter

fits with the theme of career years with an outstanding 53 pt campaign in s49. Emerging as a goal scorer for the Panthers, Winter potted home 27 goals and showed off his amazing shot and offensive awareness to the whole league. Much like the Rage, the Panthers have a core of young s43 players that will lead them to glory as the older draft classes start to dominate less and less as time catches up to them. @RomanesEuntDomus

Nicky Pedersen Jr. Dragons

was thrown into a winning culture from the get-go, being drafted right in the middle of a Dragons dynasty. He did not miss a beat, slotting in with Dragons’ superstars and legends alike and truly living up to the Pedersen hype. Having an outstanding s49 season, he will look to ensure the Dragons never drop down the standings and I’d say right now he’s doing a good job at that. @mstuk41

Goku Muerto Rage

has had a rocky start to his career, bouncing from a couple teams before landing in Manhattan with some other stud forwards. He was starting to bloom on the Pride before being moved to the Jets, but with some great young teammates on the Rage something tells me he will figure out his game and have his best season yet. This tourney will be a chance to get a look at him with his new teammates and see what kind of chemistry they can build. @Muerto

Jeff Brogen pride

has stuck with the Pride through some less than ideal seasons and it has really paid off for him as he now leads the team in points and is one of the go-to guys for the team. When he’s on the ice, his teammates want to find him with the puck because he has developed into a true stud and will be sure to make a nice play and perhaps a scoring chance to go along with it. Brogen is a big steal for the Pride in an up and down s43 draft, and they are still doing the right things by giving this young forward lots of ice time and allowing him to grow into his star role. @Flowseidon

Rex Kirkby Platoon

is another player thrown into a winning culture, and has transformed himself into a bonafide top 2 defenseman with tons of offensive upside and a strong 2-way game. Some might point to the Platoon as being on the downswing, but with Kirkby anchoring the top line, they are sure to come up with some W’s as he continues to follow the footsteps of the great defensemen to come before him. @Acsolap

Tig Murphy

has been a huge part of the Steelhawks as they continue to mold their team identity around younger and better players. Murphy might not be the flashiest defenseman, but he is very solid and continues to grow into a defensive gem and one of the top defensemen in the league. Another leader on a young Hamilton team, he will teach the young guys all of the tricks and tools they need to grow into a solid defensive team and rise back to contender status sooner rather than later. @notorioustig

Sean Stevenson Jr.

found himself on the island of misfit toys, but it is just what he needed as he really bloomed into a top 4 defenseman for the Specters. Quickly becoming a locker room favorite, he plays what role is needed from him night in and night out and is a huge part of why the Specters hit the ground running when they joined the league in s46. His best seasons are ahead of him as he finds himself with even more of a defensive burden with the departure of Physt. I have no doubt he is up to the task. @Obsidian311

Maximilian Egger

is more of a depth defenseman for the Wolfpack but he is great at doing that. Tagging along for a finals run last season, he held down the fort on the bottom pair and made sure Leitner only saw low percentage shots en route to a GOTY win. Egger might not ever be a top 4 guy, but he is a team player and a huge part of why the Wolfpack can work together cohesively and dominate the East. @Moosecop

Helmuts Akmenlauks

had a rough s49 for the Syndicate, but that is to be expected as they continue to grow as a team and let the young guys get more ice and experience. Akmenlauks has spent his whole SHL career with the Syndicate and has taken a teaching role as one of the older members of the club. A career year from Akmenlauks could mean a playoff push for Chicago, and that’s something I could definitely see happening. @CookieMonster

Craig Finley Rage

had a good season for the Rage, playing great in his own end and protecting a young Larson from high danger shots. Finley has been one of the quieter members of the s43 class but still a very important member of a Rage team chock full of s43 players. He will be valuable to them, even as a depth player, for the foreseeable future. @hats_4_days

Aleister Cain

, better known as Swiss Cheese despite being American in nationality, has put up solid numbers since moving from backup in Edmonton to starter in New Orleans. Not quite being able to reach the finals again since going in s46, he is still young and just reaching his prime years as a goalie. Fans and management in New Orleans hope he will continue to be one of the top goalies in the league as the Specters continue to add young guns on their cup hunting journey. @SlashACM

Johannes Leitner

had a jaw-dropping s49 campaign, sweeping the awards show and making it to the finals before losing the goalie duel to the powerful Tommy Tuck. He has been the go-to guy between the pipes for New England for half a decade, and I don’t see that changing any time soon as the Wolfpack has launched to contender status and shown what they can do in the regular season AND the playoffs. Leitner looks to build off his amazing s49 campaign, and though it will be hard to top that, it is definitely possible for the young goaltender. @"andrewwarren13"

Alternate Captain 2
Lil’ Manius

was moved in a blockbuster trade from Winnipeg in s49, and he is at the top of his game right now. Breaking out as a superstar for the Jets, they decided they needed a change of team identity and the Specters pounced on the chance to nab an elite forward just reaching the peak of his career. While the old superstars like Augustus and Joe K and even Smyth reach the tail end of their careers, Manius is sure to lead the team to a bright future and keep them in contention for a challenge cup through most of the S50’s. @Bonk

Alternate Captain 1

Hippo Passamus

was one of the biggest steals of the s43 draft, falling to 8th when he likely should have gone 2nd. 4 seasons in the SHL and 2 cups to his name, Passamus is already a star in this league, and will lead the charge in Buffalo as the Stampede can never be counted out for the cup. As his name suggests, he has an amazing sense for developing plays and can pass better than almost anyone in the SHL, but he can also finish plays and score those genos if he is called upon to do so. Possessing one of if not THE most complete games in the s43 class, he is a true talent for the Stampede and they will celebrate the s43 draft for the rest of their franchise’s long future. @Mayuu

Captain

Luke Thomason Rage

broke out from the shadow of Leshaun King in a big way. A perennial 40 pt scorer, Thomason has played amazing hockey since he was a wee lad in the SMJHL and will play amazing hockey until the day he retires. If the Rage become a dynasty, which is not a matter of if but of when, it will be on Thomason’s back as he will soon be the best player in the SHL. It’s not every day you can trade for a generational talent and the Rage lucked out that one was on the block back in s46. @"luketd"

Line Speculation-
Line 1-
Thomason-Passamus-Manius

A line that showcases the talent of s43, this is an elite first line that will be nearly impossible to shut down on the ice. Thomason will be the playmaker for this line and Manius will be the sniper, and Passamus can do it all. Each of these players have great talents that compliment each other very well, and if they can find the right chemistry they will be lights out in this tourney.

Line 2-
Pepperoni-Aittokallio-Winters

A very solid second line, these players are all very capable of scoring 50 points on their own, and we will see how they work together. Winters and Aittokallio have that Rage connection, and Pepperoni has two cups under his belt. It looks as if they all like to pass so someone will have to bite the bullet and shoot the puck in order for this line to really work as intended.

Line 3-
Williams-Mauldin-Winter

A studly third line, this line is especially deadly because they can play a shutdown role and still create oodles of offense. They all possess a complete 2-way game that coaches drool over, and this line will be one to watch in this tournament. Mauldin will be passing to Winter all day with that Panthers connection already there, and Mauldin will be setting up Williams for the snipes with that Team USA connection in the bank as well. This line was made in God’s image and it WILL destroy everyone else.

Line 4-
Pedersen-Muerto-Brogen

An unfair fourth line, Muerto will be able to bounce back from a down year with talented linemates such as these. Another triple passing line, Brogen will likely be the one to step into a scoring role if this line is able to put it together and take advantage of matchups against other fourth lines.

Defense Pairing 1-
Kirkby-Murphy

A great first pairing, they will be able to join on the rush and shut down the opposing forwards, look for them to rack up apples with the talented forward core on this team. They can both play solid defensively as well, and play big minutes for their respective teams already so this shouldn’t be much of a challenge for them with a talented team such as this Fury squad.

Defense Pairing 2-
Stevenson-Egger

A good second pairing, this is more of a shutdown pairing than the first. They will play back as the forwards do their thing, and will protect the goaltender from seeing much rubber as they check the opponents and block shots.

Defense Pairing 3-
Akmenlauks-Finley

A respectable third pairing, Finley is very talented offensively and might surprise the opponents by joining the rush. This will leave a big burden on Akmenlauks, who struggled defensively last season, but it may be due to being on a subpar Chicago team. Hopefully they can hold their own against the best the SHL has to offer.

Leitner

Cain has been starting for a talented Specters team for a couple seasons now, and this team is just as strong, if not stronger. They should be able to make life easy for Cain by controlling the play and playing smart defensive hockey when off the puck. If Cain has one of his bad streaks that he is known to have, Leitner can always hop in, having more hardware than Cain and more than capable of starting games if the coach wants to go that direction.
