SHL S50 Game 111 - CHI @ MIN

SHL Game 111 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Artemi Berezin @drodger91
Team: Minnesota Chiefs
Victim: Jules Watt @nykonax
Team: Chicago Syndicate
Time: 8:43 of 3rd period
Total possession time:  48:43
Hot po-take-to:
Ladies and gentlemen, it finally happened!  After they said it couldn't be done...after seven games of Artemi Berezin possessing the Potato... Artemi managed to overcome his slow transformation into a giant potato and passed the Potato off!  It was just in time as the Minnesota Chiefs were dangerously close to being sued for appropriating Mr. Potato Head.  Berezin came into this tilt with extreme potato like features, but he certainly wasn't a potato on the ice.  With the Chiefs down by one in the second period, Berezin brushed the dirt out of his eyes and scored his sixth goal of the season.  Fired up by his game tying goal, Berezin found himself in the Syndicate zone for a faceoff.  As the play developed, Berezin slowly remembered the hitting drills of his youth and lined up Chicago's Jules Watt: 8:43 of 3rd period - Jules Watt is hit by Artemi Berezin and loses puck.  Wow!  Too bad for the Chiefs that Moore managed to ice the puck directly after Berezin dislodged the puck and passed the Hot Potato to Jules.  Berezin still felt the aftereffects of the Potato, adding an assist later in the tilt.

SHL Game 111 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Jules Watt @nykonax
Team: Chicago Syndicate
Victim: N/A
Team: Minnesota Chiefs
Time: N/A
Total possession time:  16:17
Hot po-take-to:
Jules Watt managed to break Berezin's streak and was given the Hot Potato in the second period.  Unfortunately for Jules, his one hit came early on in the second period, and he was unable to shake the Hot Potato for the remainder of the game once he obtained it.  In fact, I think Watt was a bit stunned that Berezin finally gave up the Potato as he did not manage much more action in the game outside of a single shot.  Jules is on the top defensive pairing for the Syndicate, so he is hopeful that he can pass the Potato off quickly and avoid the slow descent into potato madness that had stricken Berezin.

SHL S50 Game 116 - CAL @ CHI

SHL Game 116 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Jules Watt @nykonax
Team: Chicago Syndicate
Victim: Mike Izzy @Mike Izzy
Team: Calgary Dragons
Time: 0:37 of 1st period
Total possession time:  0:37
Hot po-take-to:
Wow, Jules Watt really was not a fan of the Hot Potato, he was able to shake the Potato less than 40 seconds into his first full game with the thing.  After Izzy picked the puck up, Watt made sure to get the damn thing over with and gave Izzy the Potato and took the puck.  After Berezin had such a long streak of possessing the Potato it is impressive that Watt was able to turn it over so quickly.  I'm not so sure this was a positive for Watt though, he did not have much luck the rest of this game with a couple icing calls against him and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.  He did have another hit, but I think Watt misses the Potato.

SHL Game 116 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Mike Izzy @Mike Izzy
Team: Calgary Dragons
Victim: Daniel Smeb @Kylrad
Team: Chicago Syndicate
Time: 10:50 of 2nd period
Total possession time:  30:13
Hot po-take-to:
When I saw that Mike Izzy took the Potato this game I had a feeling he would not keep it for long, and shocker...he didn't!  While Izzy spent some time with the beloved Potato in the first period, about halfway through the second period he had had enough of it.  Even though the Dragons were winning at the time, Izzy was building some frustration after a few faceoff losses and hits against him by Cameron Carter II.  Halfway through the second period Izzy would lose a faceoff against Daniel Smeb, and then he would lose his cool and check Daniel Smeb, handing off the Hot Potato.  Izzy would finish with five hits on the game, but no Potato.

SHL Game 116 Advanced Taterlytics Report:
Posessor: Daniel Smeb @Kylrad
Team: Chicago Syndicate
Victim: N/A
Team: Calgary Dragons
Time: N/A
Total possession time:  34:10
Hot po-take-to:
It isn't too much of a surprise that Daniel Smeb was Mike Izzy's victim, the man played just under 27 minutes this game!  As the Syndicate's first line center, D. Smeb gave Izzy ample opportunity to hit him.  In fact, Izzy hit Smeb ONE SECOND into the game, although he did not possess the Potato yet.  Smeb was then hit by Otis B. Driftwood 19 seconds into the game.  People love to hit D. Smeb!  Daniel was having a good game despite the Sydicate being down 2-1, as he assisted on the Chicago goal in the first.  After obtaining the Hot Potato, Smeb would add another assist to his game total, but unfortunately would finish the day with zero hits and one Hot Potato.  With only two hits on the season for Smeb so far, we may be looking at another extended possession here folks.
