This is the season in which Cameron Carter II FINALLY gets his Dar nomination
For, This guy is long over due for the DAR trophy. A legit threat in both ends of the ice, and his transitions between zones are seamless. Playing big power play and huge penalty kill minutes, CCII should be making room in his trophy case.
San Francisco is the biggest threat to Edmonton's hopes of repeating as the West's representative in the Challenge Cup
Against: The playoffs are a completely different season than the regular season and as we saw last season, the teams that perform the best in the regular season doesn't always equate to playoff success to capturing the Challenge Cup. The Edmonton finished 4th in the Western Conference and wound up capturing the Challenge Cup for S49.
Manhattan and New England, both having extremely disappointing seasons, will turn it on in time and both make the playoffs
AGAINST -- I don't think that the New England Wolfpack have the mental gall to drag themselves to the playoffs. The Wolfpack got off to a quite frankly disastrous start to their season, losing their first 6 contests of the season. While they managed to generally turn it around, including a 4-game winning streak midseason, they remain an inconsistent team seeking to find their identity after a long, exhausting run to the cup final last year.

No team is having a more disappointing season than...... the Toronto North Stars??
For. Okay, hear me out. This wasn't part of the rebuilding plan. I know ML wanted to have another season or two of losing, and get a few more high stud first rounders to build the core he desires moving forward. The fact that his line is just dominating the sadness that is the LEastern conference and they're firmly in a playoff spot is just hurting that. There's a lot of spots on that defense for high picks, and when Toronto ends up picking 10-11th in the first round (or worse), the master plan will be thwarted. Unless they win the cup, then who tf cares.

For. I mean, come on, guys. It's us, we definitively deserve the chance of messing someone's hopes of going to the final- I mean, we deserve the chance of going to a Challenge Cup. The team needs it, after all.
Former Players: Yoshimitsu McCloud (LW, #64) - Won a Four Star Cup once, knew ninjutsu, picture editors hated him, never tried free agency
Anton Harrier (LW, #90) - Won WJC gold, liked skateboarding a lot, went to the finals with Manhattan, kept his seat glued in LR
Jagger Fouquette will finish the season leading the SMJHL in both goals AND assists
Against
Jagger is having a helluva season, currently leading the SMJHL scoring race while also being the leader in goals and assists. However, St. Louis' top line of Blackwood, Bruchevski, and Hernadivic are currently close behind him in the scoring race, sitting in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Blackwood and Hernadivic are both extremely close in the assist leader race, while Bruchevski and Blackwood are on his heels in the goals department. This line has been super hot as of late, and has no shown no signs of slowing down, with this line combining for 49 points (16 for Blackwood, 17 for Bruchevski, 16 for Hernadivic) in their last 7 games. This torrid scoring pace will soon vault these guys into contention for the scoring crown with Jagger, and will see Jagger fall behind in the race for goals leader and assists leader.
Quote:Toronto's Mika Kandinsky will shatter the all-time rookie record for most points in a season (44)
FOR.
Kandinsky is on an absolutely torrid pace with 41 points, and we're only two-thirds of the way through the season. Even if he slows down significantly over this final stretch of the season, he's still likely to finish as a PPG player in his rookie season. I don't see any way how he doesn't shatter the all-time rookie record for most points.

AGAINST: The most disappointing team is easily the New England Wolfpack. They went from Challenge Cup Finalists to last in their conference in one off-season. It looks like their goalie hid a lot of problems last season and now that he's not bailing them out, they're showing their true colours.

How can you possibly argue against this? The North Stars could place him on the 4th line for the rest of the season and he would still very likely break the record. He is going to create a whole new record that will stick aound for quite awhile.

BS!
Jagger has been the top dog for majority of the season. He isn't showing any signs of slowing down so no matter what lines start to heat up in the SMJHL, no one will be catching him. They may make it close, but Jagger is lock and loaded right now and will continue to dominate the league.

You have a team that was a presidents trophy team that is now at the bottom of the league. That is the definition of disappointing. The North Stars have arguably the best prospect dominating the SHL in his rookie season. That is going to bring A LOT of excitement for that team. Nothing is wrong with a rebuild being sped up by your prospects excelling more than you expected.
Toronto's Mika Kandinsky will shatter the all-time rookie record for most points in a season (44)
FOR - Mika is killing it and has been since we were drafted together in St. Louis. He will not be slowing down anytime soon. Mika will not only shatter the all-time rookie point record and win the rookie of the year, he'll keep putting the work in to get better each coming season.
Quote:No team is having a more disappointing season than...... the Toronto North Stars??
Against: I don't think anyone can be having a worse season than New England. They won the president's trophy last season and made it to the finals before getting swept and have just had a horrible season so far. If you make the finals you would hope the next season you would at least be in playoff position by this point in the season but it looks unlikely they will even make it to the post season at this rate.
Toronto's Mika Kandinsky will shatter the all-time rookie record for most points in a season (44)
For - Mika is continuing the dominant play that he exhibited last year for St. Louis and shows no sign of stopping. He's already super close to breaking the record and there are a lot of games left. He'll shatter the record, set a new record, and somehow shatter that one. The rules of the league and the laws of physics don't apply to Mika Kandinsky.
